  1. Sounds like they will be fun to see. Thanks for the info. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. Everyone says that Pickett Co. runs. Do they press? and fastbreak. Sounds like they play a fun brand of basketball.
  3. I think that 4A is a very good and competitive district. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Yes, 7A is perhaps the best in the state. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" But it's important not to forget what O.S. did to 7A Clarkrange last year at state /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Right now there are a number of teams in 7A that are ahead of 4A but it's important to remember they don't give you a trophy in November! Just some food for thought /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Can I get an Amen from Kaz? /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  4. Hey SuperDave! In my opinion it's a little too early to be counting anyone in or out in 4-A much at this point of the season is up to the imagination /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> . I think you'll know more about things a little closer to christmas. Picking teams this early is a bit of a crap shoot so I'ld prefer to let it all work itself out. I can honestly say I agree with you about O.S. being the cream of the District but neither of the two top teams appear invincible to me /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm not feeling that this weekends game between CRange and Oakdale will be a super big indicator. It's early in the season and I'm sure that both teams will change a great deal as the year goes. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> I do know that the district will be a great one to watch for the fans /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Bigdave Out! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  5. Hey Kaz, This may introduce a new topic but who do you think makes each team go. The one player that each team has got to have playing well.
  6. Excellent takes guys! I cant wait to see the lady dogs in their 2-3 zone......ummm.......errr...............wait a minute.....thats nutts /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> Hey, superdave how did you go from judge a man by his body of work to the quote about a 2-3 zone? /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> I'm just glad I finally figured out that box and 1 thing whew!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Kaz, There is a playday at FC this saturday I think. For some reason I found myself walking with a bit quicker step this morning....first day of practice So, I'm left asking exactly how does our Dist 4 A break down? I don't want anything to become bulletin board material for anyone, but I think this year will be pretty interesting for coaches and fans. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> But anyone that is able to accurately predict the final outcome in this dist should be right up there with Ms. Cleo....... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> So, there will be no predictions from BigD this year...sorry CoachT faithful. I think the only lock to make the region is O.S. outside of that anyone could advance and anyone could go home you could probably say that Oakdale will occupy one of the Region spots as well /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . I am pretty certain this district will be wide open (still respecting O.S. and the fact that to be the best you have got to beat the best.....in a tourney)! I'm also certain that if that parody is what our district is made of this year it is clear that a pretty good team will be sent home early in the tourney season! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I think it will come down to which team is better prepared (way 2 state the obvious) come tourney time... i guess its Welcome to the majors huh? /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  8. What Teams will be in Franklin Co? I know that O.S. will be there what about the other dist teams?
  9. What up Kaz, I don't understand the middle school situation...I've had very little experience with that.. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> But I don't think that the others wanted to play tough competition, might make them look bad! I have always enjoyed playing Oneida in the past and am certain that I will enjoy competing with them in the future errr I'm hoping anyway, sometimes they leave me a little ill... /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> But isn't that supposed to be part of the process of organized sports......anyway I digress! just buyin my time til Nov. 1 anyway. Just thought I'ld add my 2 cents!... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Bigdave Out!
  10. I miss getting to see last years schedule and rosters. They really help out! Glad to see the thumb smiley back!!!
  11. I wish the team the best of luck. Keep working boys. I know a thing or two about that Freshman class and they are extremely competitive and so is the soph class. Stick with it guys!
  12. Let the kids be kids. We have plenty of time to work with out children during the school year. 1. You can still employ season long speed, strenght, agility, and conditoning programs. (Make them better athletes) 2. Some teams run extremely complex systems and they will be hurt some....however, I didn't see many of them in the State Tourney this year! Most of those teams were just fundamentally solid and had very good athletes. 3. By tournament time we've had 4 months to work with our kids any way we wish....surely by then a coach worth his or her salt will have their team playing well. I just don't see the need in kids playing for 12 months a year. This train of thought that they have got to play only one sport in order to be successful is a bunch of spin employed by coaches who want their sport to dominate all the others in the school. I want my players to play other sports and I encourage it. I seriously doubt that we will see a major drop off in on court performance. Just my 2 cents!
  13. I don't like it. It's part of the game. I've been blown out and I've blown out some others.....Also, games like that allow both sides to get their young kids in games at a varsity level. That makes a major difference to them I know.
  14. Seemed to me that they got better each day. Don't know wins and losses but there was a major difference from day 1 to the end. However, it's an uphill battle in their district. But if given time I'm sure a school that size will come around with good coaching and patience.
  15. Met their new girls coach and he seems to be a good young guy to build a program around.
  16. Havent gotten mine yet either! I bet we'll be luck to get em at all. I talked to a buddy of mine that also coaches and he said they were notorious for messin up orders.
  17. Who did you talk to in the central office?
  18. What about weight lifting and conditioning? Will you still be able to do that in the Fall?
  19. Amen, /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> do we have a clue who might be coming in to coach this team? I know that the process usually takes a couple of weeks but what names have you heard that may want this challenge? I feel like there are some not do be understated very good kids coming up through this program. Seems to me that there would be alot of coaches that might like to work with a young rebuilding team. And Cry if you want to debate the ethics of the coaching suppliment start a thread otherwise you and charlie drop it! It's making me ill /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
  20. Oh Crap! Not the middle schooler bashing again. Look Dude! I don't know who you are but this is a football thread. Lets deal with the matter at hand and drop the bashing. If you've got a comment about football by all means post it leave the roundball out of it till November! Otherwise let it go! I'm beginning to think that you've got a thing for that, "middle schooler." Who's interested in the Wartburg Job?
  21. The schedule according to wchs.k12tn.net looks like this 2007 Schedule (Tentative--Subject to Change) August 24 Scott County Home August 31 Coalfield Away September 7 Open September 14 Harriman Away September 21 *CAK Home September 28 *Alcoa Away October 5 *Sweetwater Home October 12 *Rockwood Home October 19 Loudon Away October 26 *Oliver Springs Away November 2 Midway Home
  22. Ask Me, do you guys still play basketball up there?
  23. Maybe you should apply for the job! I really don't think we will see a great deal of improvement in the program by simply changing coaches. The entire culture needs to change overall we need to get positive in a hurry.
  24. OS has Howard and Ollis 5'9 and 5'10 that could be very good role players for them next year. Put them with Kayla, Hall, and Barger. That could be a pretty good team! They just need to find one more scorer and they'll be fine.
