  1. 'big game' BA, go ahead and dust off another spot in the trophy case.......we've added another.
  2. Add another Silver Ball to our collection. We lead the state in losses in the state chammpionship game. What is that now....0-4 vs. MBA in the state championship game??? Will Coach Potter's career go the same route as Coach Tom Moore? I hear an old head coach is looking for work. In all seriousness, congrats to the defense. Coach Jacobs is an old school Eagle and he makes us proud.
  3. Itzme is right. No way a seasoned recruiter like Flatt would use such a method.
  4. The best basketball team only if you don't count Whites Creek.
  5. At least MBA has visitor seats. I'm embarrased everytime we have a home game at BA and the opponents fans have to seat on our side. For a supposedly top level program, we have a po-dunk stadium. It's embarassing.
  6. ITZME, excellent poll. I would like to see an MUS vs Maryville game. Not sure I'd put Melrose ahead of our Eagles. (plus we beat Ravenwood too). The general public should not let multiple losses to DII teams sway their opinion. I can guarantee that Baylor and McCallie would more than hold their own with any of these teams. Go Eagles Bball!!!
  7. I agree with the earlier post....I lost all respect the head coach at TC. Until TC steps up and plays the big boys (even medium boys) then he won't get any respect. Don't use classification as an excuse. Alcoa stepped up and played Maryville and McCallie. TC has jumped around classifications like Brentwood Academy did the in the 90's. Where ever Lipscomb is....TC ain't. Coach S can keep patting himself on the back for beating RBS by 91, but until you step up you get no respect. Beating RBS 91-0....you da man
  8. I agree with the earlier poster...I lost all respect for the coach at TC. If they think they are so good, come on up and play the big boys. Don't give classification as an excuse. Alcoa stepped up, played Maryville and McCallie. TC is jumping around classifications like Brentwood Academy did in the 90's. Basically...where Lipscomb is, TC is not. Coach S from TC can keep patting himself on the back and keep beating RBS by 91, but until he steps up and plays some of the big boys (even medium boys) then he won't get any respect. 91-0...you da man.
  9. I have heard talk that BA may move down to DII-AA after this year. We will no longer stand for not winning second place trophies. We are going back to what won us so many state championships in previous years...playing in a lower classification. Because of this proposed change, I may hang on to my screen name for one more year.
  10. I have been watching my Eagles from a distance the past few weeks. We seem to be improving, yet we continue to get outclassed by these DII opponents. Being a mid-80's BA guy, I guess I was spoiled by the cupcakes we once played. At the time though I was convinced we could play with the MBA and McCallie's of the world. Should we win the first round, I'd call the season a success. I'm just afraid I'm going to have to change my name to 'Noballs' with the tough schedule ahead.
  11. Irish fans, I apologize for this fan of our school. Sometimes our passion gets in the way of good old fashioned support. Even though Fr Ryan has absolutely been embarrassing to DII and the Super 6, we at BA respect your program for keep trying year after year despite being last again and again. On the other hand, I wish our supporters would not speak with such strong conviction. We have not but a dent in the Super 6 either. Gone are the days when we could hide behind a lesser classification and call it success. We have been getting blasted by the Big boys. Let's keep hope alive though Eagles!!! I hear the open house was well attended and another good "class" is in the works!!! Keep it up pipeline...see you this saturday at the middle school games.
  12. Not ready to say this is our weakest team, but this does not look like the normal "product" we put out on the field. Good news about next years team. Give us the inside scoop...do we have a few deals in the works? Also, my fellow posters, my passion for BA often gets misinterpreted. I apologize if some of my remarks come across as too harsh. Now let's get back to what we do best!!! Anyone been out to some of the local middle school games this year? Lets ROPE 'EM IN!!!
  13. I say play the game. It won't be the first time BA broke some TSSAA rules.
  14. I guess you're right about those state championships being nice, but thanks to those 2 years and the recruiting around it....we are now stuck with 8 divisions, 24 Mr. Footballs, and 1000's of fans that think TN high school football is a joke. Way to go CF. At least we have our runner-up trophies to be proud of. And yes, once again, we get beat by MBA.
  15. Not real excited about this one as a BA fan. Our CONSERVATIVE offense will not have much of a chance vs. the Big Red defense. Long gone are the days when we could just out talent everyone. Unfortunately for us, in 2003 things did have a way of working out...we got blasted when the 2 teams play eached other for a second time in the Clinic Bowl. Refs couldn't even have screwed that one up. Go Eagles.
  16. Since we moved up classifications several years ago, it is proven we can longer win on talent alone. We must execute perfectly to win this game!!! MUS is well coached and plays hard. Anyone know when the open house is?? Let's all "chip in" this year.
  17. Interesting that you would form that opinion since all I have done is support BA. I am not from Brentwood but have now drawn an attachment to the school. I can understand that when an outsider comes in to support a school, those with a greater attachment get their guards up. All I try and do is state observations, sometimes emotion gets in the way and they can be misinterpreted.
  18. Thanks for the update. That's great news for the BA family. I guess Ensworth just hasn't had the effect people thought it would!!! GO Eagles!!
  19. Kind of go a chuckle when I read where this thread has gone... BA will win handling and the 2's and 3's will play after the 1st quarter (my boy will have a chance to contribute!!!) On the other topic, Ensworth is a fine addition to the private school landscape in middle TN. I am not an insider yet I work with parents at both MBA and Ensworth. They have informed me that while there are a few students that choose Ensworth over Harpeth Hall and MBA, those two schools respectively have had two of their greatest admissions years in recent history. Both have record applications, and as usual they are attracting the top students in the area. We at Brentwood Academy are still the attractive option to the Williamson County community yet we are competing now with the excellent public schools of our county. With this said, Ensworth is apparently having a greater affect on CPA, FRA, and yes...Brentwood Academy. MBA and Harpeth Hall are still in a class by themselves from what I've been told. At Brentwood Academy we will still get the solid Williamson County students plus the others who arrive through CF's marketing efforts. As far as the poster chosing Ensworth over other schools because of the loud fans, I am now fully expecting Ensworth to have the most peaceful, quiet student body in history.
  20. I feel like our Eagles will perfrom well vs a solid McCallie team. Might be the year to get a Gold Ball.

    MBA / CPA

24-0 was the closest that game could have ever been. MBA had the second team in early in the 3rd quarter. Let's lay off the refs.

    MBA / CPA

I attended the game with several BA faithful as we had the night off. The game went exactly as expected. MBA put the game away on the first 3 posessions. Coach Rutledge showed that he and MBA are classy and they played the entire 2nd half with the second team. Even with the second team in there, CPA still struggled to get a first down. It's easy for CPA to call a blitz on every play when they have nothing to lose, so let's not be too quick to call their defense better than it is. True, CPA was the recipient of some bad calls. The clock errors before MBA was about to score at the end of the 1st half were also very bad. CPA has a very nice stadium, polite fans, and a good 1A team. They just went up against the 800 pound gorilla of MBA. Side Note....If there is any doubt as to where the best football is played in TN, everyone needs to take a look at the Super Seven scores from tonight. (MBA, Baylor, Fr. Ryan, CBHS)
  23. Coach Flatt has had good results in the past. We will continue to have good results with the talent that Coach Flatt and his network bring in. But we Eagles must admit, the torch that we carried in the 80's and mid-90's was passed a long time ago to the other Super 7 team that wears Red.
  24. CPA did get blown out by Riverdale. I'd say 55-20 is a blowout. This is one is not close. While CPA has a nice program, this is a game between Apples and Oranges.
