  1. i don't know if y'all know the incredible level that d1 soccer is at, but i don't think any of these kids are going to walk into usc or maryland and make an impact first year or "raise some eyebrows". No one at usc is going to be surprised with how good he is when he gets there. He's a great player but it's not like wayne rooney just jumped on a collegiate team in the u.s.
  2. does anyone know when the actual list is going to be announced and where?
  3. Boyd beat WV 3-0 last night at WV to secure the 1st seed in the district.
  4. Boyd plays Tyner today (friday) at 5pm. @Boyd.
  5. Let me tell you why there is no predicting what Grace will do. It's because Parshall and Eldridge is all that Grace has in terms of offense. If even one of them is off, at any given night, it is tough for them to win. Grace was a more complete team last year because of Nick Van Horn and Nick Parsons. Parsons played great defense and was an incredible rebounder, not to mention the game winning put back in the semi's last year in the state tournament and we all know Van Horn brought pure talent to the floor. Which Grace will come and what will Boyd do with it?
  6. let's think about this logically. Grace lost Nick Van Horn. Van Horn was no doubt the best all around player on Grace last year. Temple has the exact same they did last year. Both teams lost to Unaka. On top of that Grace got beat by 20+. How would you argue that Grace is better?
  7. CCS doesn't have the guard's to stay with either of the Skogans offensively or defensively. It shouldn't be very close. Mitch and Kyle both need 30 or more points each to beat temple. CCS-52 Temple-70
  8. I'll agree with all of that except the comparison of Jonathon Dilts and Zach Mouw. Mouw is on a completly higher level than Dilts. Mouw is a great defender, inch for inch, the best rebounder in the region. He can kill a team on offensive rebounds alone. I, personally, think this matchup is the key to the game. I think if Grace limits Mouw's offensive rebounds, then they will have a chance to win this game, but if Mouw has a good amount of offensive rebounds/put backs, then Temple wins by 10+
  9. "Boing, Boing, Ahhhhh" by Boyd's "the plank"- everytime the visiting team dribbles its a "boing" everytime someone shoots or passes its an "Ahhhh" Very nerve racking.
  10. Hawkins, Parshall, and Eldridge get on Instant messenger or something bc no one wants to read yalls rediculous conversation. Thanks.
  11. #10 for Boyd had 16 by my count, but that's not a positive. Grace recieved the technical foul because Boyd was in a full court man to man press and Grace had 6 men on the floor, but the kicker was that Grace scored with a man under the basket (6th man) and they gave it to him for an easy basket. They called the technical foul after the basket was made. The final decision was Grace's basket stands, no time was added for the 6 man play. How in the world do you let 2 points stand when Grace had 6 men? makes no sense to me.
  12. Bluenandgold fan, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the Bucaneer players.
  13. Boyd gets two returning players, one being the starting point guard. They also got a couple of athletes in Drew Akins and Tripp Wingo that should help them out. Boyd did get beat by CSAS pretty good, but I think Boyd matches up better with Grace than CSAS.
  14. As long as you took that into consideration, I'll respect your pick.
  15. Chattanooga Times and Free Press thought Boyd-Temple was a better rivalry and I do too. Last year they had an article entitled "hottest winter rivalries" Here's how it went: 1) Bradley- Cleveland-men's Basketball 2) McCallie- Baylor- men's Basketball 3)Bradley- Cleveland- Women's Basketball 4) McCallie- Baylor- wrestling 5) Boyd-Temple- Men's Basketball
  16. It's funny how everyone is giving Grace the 15+ spread on the points, even though Grace only one by 1 and 8 last year. Boyd has only gotten better from what I've heard. I say this one can go either way, within 8 points.
  17. good post blueandgold, and as for redandwhiteforever saying "that was early is the season and the next to times they played it wasnt even a game" if you consider and 8 point game, "not even a game", then you're an idiot.
  18. CSAS will run away with this one. It may be close at halftime but second half probably won't be close.
  19. how good did Brainerd look? Seems like red bank did better than most expected. I'm sure they'll learn from their second half.
  20. Well Boyd will get 2 starters, point gaurd and shooting gaurd, from football in time to play Grace on Tuesday. So I guess we'll see how much difference they make.
  21. like i said: Beat that dead horse all you want, Mr. Football went to the right man.
  22. I've heard around Chattanooga that Red Bank will surprise everyone this year with just how good they are. True? They might just get humbled by Soddy on friday or they may prove to live up to their hype so far.
  23. Top Chattanooga Rivals: 1)Howard - Brainerd Play at UTC arena sometimes and even then its crowded. 2) McCallie - Baylor Always sold out no matter which school hosts. 3) Bradley - Cleveland Again, always sold out and always promises good, fundamental basketball with high flyers like Charles Little recently. Usually some of the best players in the state play in this game. 4) Boyd - Temple The Best 1a game to go see. Always packed. 1a ball at its finest. These aren't in any order I just numbered them so they'd be easier to read.
  24. How in the world could you rank Temple above CCS? CCS has been solid throughout the last ten years. Temple has been solid for about the last 5.
