  2. How did Alcoa look in the scrimmage against Baylor?
  3. We've heard that for years, but 95% of our boys are home grown. The ones we do get from other areas come to us, not us searching them down. If they didn't wind up with the big A, they would have gone elsewhere. Besides hasn't that horse been beat to death out here.
  4. Hey IrishTrickster, I read your excuses/"not making excuses" BS on why you think ND lost the game to Catholic. I am glad that you have a way you can deal with it. One thing I haven't read or may have missed is Alcoa had two TD's called back in the Catholic game which would have made a considerable difference in the score had the home cooking refs (IMO) stayed out of the game. You see, K-town, (especially west K-town IMO) can't stand losing to Alcoa and Maryville (you will have to ask them why, but deep down I know why). Anyway, you better hope your boys do show up to play Friday night like you and your brethren are preaching out here because you sure are digging yourself a hole. You guys are talking like you're champions, but you never been there once.
  5. It looks like these refs just don't want Alcoa to win. Another penalty on the 3. Really! Reminds me when we used to play Madisonville. Always playing the refs....
  6. Listening to game on the radio. Can't help but wonder if Alcoa is having to play the refs too. Two touchdowns....... Hmmmmmm.
  7. Alcoa's first team scored twice and kicked one field goal. OR's first team was shut out. Alcoa's JV came in and finished the game scoring once on about a 40 yard pass play. OR never scored. One thing that I haven't read or heard anyone say this year is that Alcoa's kicking game is really bad. They did kick a nice field goal but the kickoffs and punting was horrible. Not sure why they don't let the field goal kicker do the kickoffs.
  8. Yes I will have to agree. However, Alcoa has not had the quality of coach there that they have now. Also keep in mind that Quarles may move on to next level soon which would be well deserved in my opinion. For now...Go Tornadoes!
  9. Alcoa Middle won the Blount County Championship against Heritage last night 28 to 14. They had several good wins during the season this year against a great Clintion team and against Maryville Middle which they beat 50 to 0. Not to fail to mention that they were undefeated as well. I am pretty sure that Rankin was foaming at the mouth looking at his future talent.
  10. First of all Alcoa doesn't have a bunch of trouble makers. And if FB is who I think he is, he played at UT himself. I guess that makes him a trouble maker. He definitely shows he a trouble maker on this board.
  11. Tyner Fans! You have the easy part done already. That's talking about it.
  12. I have lived in Maryville all my life. Went through the Maryville school system up to the 9th grade and played ball. Due to family reasons I transferd to Aloca High my 10th grade year where I also played ball. All I have heard since I can remember is that MHS recruits. Guys, let me tell you now. This is NOT true. My wife, also an Alcoa grad, even argues with me that MHS recruits. Through the years I have known many of the families that have had kids playing at Maryville. And I also know that they all lived in the city of Maryville. Theres only one reason why Maryville has developed this reputation. Because they are good! Year in and year out Maryville fields teams that get-r-done. I think the type of families that live in Maryville are the big reason why the teams have been successful. Not to take anything away from other areas/teams families. Now remember, I still bleed maroon and sliver and will be at AHS tonight watching my boys take on Loudon again. I just wanted to say this on the recruiting subject. I am tellin ya. It just aint happening.
  13. Took, Go back to computer school. No one was even talking to you.
  14. Took, No one is talking to you. I was talking to "drilltheJ" Maybe you haven't figured out how to work that fancy computer you got.
  15. drilltheJ, It sounds like you are a little young. Don't let'm get you down. There just adults having fun at your expense. You know, electronic bullies. I am sure the sarcasm and LOL's make them feel better about the drubbing their going to take Friday. You think after a 28 point spanking after the last game it might humble them a little. Hey! Maybe the Tornadoes will get up by 35 or 40 at the half and put you freshman in sometime in the 4th quarter. You could give a little wink if you make it over to their sidelines. That is if their still sitting in the stands.
  16. I had forgotten about that. That has been a long long time ago.
  17. Rebel Ron, You and I went to school and played FB together and Maryville Jr. High. I left after my 9th grade year and went to Alcoa due to my father being team doctor at AHS. At the time he had been with AHS football for about 20 years. I knew if I stayed at MHS he would never get to see me play except once a year. That would be the Alcoa/Maryville game. I have seen you around at some of the Maryville games lately. You've probably figured out who I am by now.
  18. Rebel Ron, Did you graduate in 82 and have a brother that played qb at Maryville?
  19. FB, You have attacked someone's opinion. You have attacked Coach R's opinion on scoring with his JV and Freshman. I won't go into all the details of what steps were taken to keep the game under control because you can read them in many posts already. You have also called the Alcoa team classless. That's calling names in my book. Here's your quote. "I have been one of those who thinks it was classless, and Alcoa, as Champions should conduct themselves as such IMO. Period!" You also say that, if Alcoa makes it to the final game, that you won't be there to support them like in years past. As well as saying that, "you can't and won't support the inverse". This is fine with us! However, I ask you why even post on our threads if you feel so strongly against Alcoa now? Is it just to stir up trouble or are you trying to make up for not ever playing a down of football in your life?
  20. However, you do "fore-boast" that all roads to the ship lead through Maryville.
  21. As a Alcoa grad and ex-player I'll be there Friday supporting my team. I also will be there Saturday supporting my other team, the Rebs. FB, you have made a big deal out of this running up the score thing and I think you should be there supporting the Blount County teams. See you Saturday anyway FB.
  22. I remember once during a scrimmage between Alcoa and Seymour in the 80's two kids collided. While they were helping the Alcoa boy off the field he asked the coach " Hey coach who won the girls game"? We have never let him live that down to this day.
