The Doc believes it would be good medicine for many of the local fans to travel north to the blount county/ knoxville area to watch some football when their own team is going to play their starters for ten minutes against a scrub team. It is a totally different ball game when one steps outside our own little area. I would like to think that our football district is similar to the Big Ten.... One or two teams tear it up in the polls every year and lay an egg when the lights come on. BTW chargers roll 49-6

Polk Co. will be undefeated when they go play S. Pittsburgh. As the season is unfolding, it appears that each will also be the others toughest competition of the year as well. The game will be the measuring stick of how good Polk really is. Polk Co. may not be the third best team in the state but you can only beat the teams you have on the schedule, which Polk has done convincingly. There will undoubtably be a playoff type atmosphere which will serve both teams well heading into the post season. I assure you all Cats fans have Oct. 23 circled on the calendar.

smokey if you look at the two teams objectively the talent at polk seems to be going up while the talent at MC seems to be going down. why would one not expect polk to pull out one win especially when they will have a favorable seed in the playoffs. by the looks of the score i would put my money on the red to win one before i would the blue.

Polk County is my favorite stadium to watch a high school game. Being right at the foot of the mouintain makes for a picturesque night especially as the fall colors come. Fans create a great atmosphere and a distinct home field advantage. The visitor section is as big as most 5A schools. The baseball field adjacent to the football field makes it one of the nicest sports complexes in the state.

Should be a tight game. Polk is traditionally strong after coming off a bye week. Central will be coming off two games against two quality opponents. This could be a blessing or a curse. The big blue may be beat up physically after cleveland and mcminn. god knows they better get the cramp issue solved. on the other hand a AAA oponent could be a welcomed sight after banging with the big boys for two weeks straight.

I agree that the definition of speed in polk county is different. fast in benton is average at most schools (ask mcminn central). BC likely has three guys faster than PCs fastest. Nonetheless it is a game in which PC has nothing to lose and everything to gain. A motivated wildcat team will win a close one 17-13 on the field!
