The WC Hendersonville Girls and Boys games have been moved up to this afternoon. The girls game will start at 3:30 and the Boys game will follow.

ACL injuries happen more in Girls basketball than in mens game because women cannot stop and start like a man but are coached as if there bodies can. This is not a sexist thing by any means I simply mean that the joints and ligaments of a womans knee develop differently than a man's and good coaches realize this and protect their players with good strength and conditioning and by not asking them to do things that are not natural motions when stopping and starting. That said all precautions can be taken and still accidents and injuries happen in sports. I hate to hear about any young athlete being injured. Best of luck to this young lady and I pray it is a speedy recovery.

Not that it matters much but the score was 72 38. score was 16-16 at the end of the first quarter and 49 28by the end of the third I do not remember the half time score but Lebanon seemed to run out of gas in the third and fourth quarter. WC scored 23 in the fourth and played freshmen for the last 5 min of the game Lebanon played a lot of young players in the fourth as well. Lebanon has some good players and the future looks bright if they work on their conditioning they should have a good season this year and into the future. IMHO

Based on what info? Common opponent between MJ and WC Franklin Co MJ wins by 10 WC beats FC by 17 at Cookeville tonight. I say MJ and WC beat Lebanon and MJ WC split with each winning at home just because it is very difficult to go into MJ and win a game. Lebanon may shock one of these two but I doubt it. I look for WC and MJ to play for District title in the tournament. No knock against any of these teams but I agree with the original post these games will be very interesting. Go WC

To address the issues you brought forth about academics, Home School students as defined by this rule from the TSSAA actually do have to take the same standardized tests as regular school students. These students are required to meet the same academic standards or to propose an alternate plan to the TSSAA for approval if they don't. As an educator for many years I have often been outspoken against home schools for the reasons you mentioned but I have learned that there are several different types of home school programs the ones being discussed in this rule are the ones that do require state tests. But I am with you I think a recruiting trip or two might be taking place soon.

Because it cost a lot of money to travel to those eliete tournaments and our school director micro manages so much that to do a fund raiser takes a letter for Congress and the blessing of a Priest. It is just easier to stay around home and play at Thanksgiving and then go to a bigger tournament at Christmas, but even that is getting more difficult. As for bringing in top tier teams to play that would be awesome but the logistics of doing that are a huge headache and most coaches in Wilson County would prefer to just go somewhere close and not have to deal with it. IMHO Good Luck to the Lady Bears except when they play WC then I have to root for my Wildcats. Maybe one of you can bring the Gold Ball back to Wilson County this year.

Yes and in how many of the games against common opponents did Freshmen give up points late in the 4th quarter and how many did FCS play their starters till there was less that 2 min to play it is all relative and we know that. Still believe TC has the better D and it will show on the field Friday night. The other great difference between what you saw last Friday night and what you will see this Friday night is that if TC gets a lead you will not get back off the mat. Yes but now you will be playing the best defense in 2A, also why has no one answered the question about sacks? Its hard to complete passes when your lying on your back staring up at a big ole country boy who just flattened you like hoe cake. Where others fail Champions excel!!!! How many times has the SM QB been sacked this year? This game will be decided in the trenches. Trousdales D line vs the Eagle offensive line. IMO This game will not be decided until late in the fourth quarter which gives the advantage to TC because they are at home. TC 17 SM 12 So let it be written, So let it be done!

Yeah I will be glad to come back and post and there will be no spite, you really should read more of my posts spite is not my style. I have no dog in the fight other than supporting middle Tennessee area football teams. If you will note I said this could be an upset, if FCS wins I believe it would be an upset, SM has the better players on paper no doubt but FCS has been here before and been successful. The game will be decided by the players on the field just do not be surprised if the boys from FCS keep it close and Signal finds themselves in a dog fight at the end. Either way best of luck to both teams and again congrats to the two young men from SM for being finalist for Mr. Football.

Basketball Practice is humming right along, the girls should make another run to state still gotta beat those Bears though District 9AAA is tough. As for the SM FC game should be a barn burner find it difficult to believe either team will win by more than a touchdown. Good luck to all.

Nope wasnn't watching with Trousdale Folks but glad you seem to be overlooking the team you play Friday could be the upset heard around the Mountain.

AHHH the smack talk that is playoff football in Tennessee. I am rather amazed that posters from Cascade would provide such excellent material for Seven, Snowball, and Slim. This is a consumate rookie mistake being made by the Cascade posters. With an undeniable lack of knowledge about these animals some fans of the opposing team have chosen to rattle their cages. I am much suprised by the restraint shown by these grizzled veterans of smack. A word of caution to the Cascade folks making the trip to Hartsville, Leave early parking is horrible, eat in Lebanon or Gallatin before you get there and do not speed when leaving with your tails tucked between your legs after recieving you butt whooping, the county needs to make up for some budget shortfalls and can use the money.

Well Friendship should just phone it in, I just read the released Mr. Football finalists and Signal has a lineman and a back that made it guess we should just annoint them Champions and all go home. But seriously congratulations to these two young men. It is a well deserved honor considering their stats. Having seen Friendship play this season and film of Signal Mountain I would not be suprised to see this game be as close as the Trousdal Friendship game was earlier in the season. The experience of the coaches at Friendship along with their experience as a team should help keep this one close. Good luck to both teams and may you both stay healthy whoever wins so there will be no whining when you loose to Trousdale County next week.

Congrats to Portland on the win. The wildcats let this one get away from them with poor play in the red zone. 5 turnovers on the night with two coming from inside the Portland 20. Trey's D was the difference in the game Friday. Well now on to Basketball.

With the Playoff brackets coming out Saturday does the First round bye help or does it disrupt the rhythm? Interested to hear everyones thoughts. The real season is about to begin!!!!!!

Before Kickoff we will be as nice as can be, after the final horn we can all go out and get some hotwings, but for 48 mins. we are going to try and destroy his D. I figure he feels about the same way. I am looking forward to catching up with my friends from Portland, not looking forward to that D@^N train horn though. Hopefully they will not have cause to use it on Friday.

Well after another season of high school football several teams have playoff hopes hanging on the results of Friday nights games but for these two teams and hundreds of others around the state Pride is the only reward for finishing the season. The Wildcats will have a lot of shoulda coulda woulda's to think about over the off season. Homecoming agains McGavock a 7 point loss, Holding Gallatin to 16 points and driving late in the fourth with a chance to tie, Playing Mt Juliet to a 14 6 game during Fall Break. I am Proud of the effort of the players and coaches this season. Now to business who is going to win this game? Will Portland finally break into the Win column for the first time in two seasons or will WC give Coach Brad Dedman the best record of any first year coach in Wilson Central History? Or are both teams just ready for Basketball season?
