  1. The wildcats in a close one 3 to 0 on a 53 yard fg by Jackson Reddit as time expires in the first half. Either that or 53 to 52 in 6 overtimes. I hope both teams get out of this one healthy.
  2. Who is Signal Mountain? Were they in the playoffs last year? How many state championships have they won? They beat South Pitt this year, Kudos, don't amount to a hill of beans in the 2A Playoffs. If they make it to state they will have to play teams like McKenzie or Trousdale Co. With the new playoff alignment the East Middle division is the easier route to the state championship in 2A IMHO. In response to the question could the best 1A team beat the best in 2A sure they could that's why they play the games week in and week out. Any given Friday any team could beat another, even the mighty (enter your favorite team here) can be beat.
  3. Well at least it was a respectable score 14-6 is way better than the butt whoopin we got last year. Just wish we could generate some offense. Well we got two more chances to have a better record this year than last year. WE get a week off to get ready for station camp maybe we can figure out where the end zone is by then. Great Job D and nice stand at the end of the first half.
  4. Why did he do to get the 2 penalties? Usually the TSSAA has not overturned suspensions for 2 unsportsmanlike calls. Under new leadership things might be different but I would be surprised. I do not think his playing or not playing will have much effect on the outcome of the game either way to be honest.
  5. I can only say ouch!!!!! I just hope the Jackets don't have to start punting on first down like we did against Monterey a few years back that one was like 91-0. Lets keep everyone healthy.
  6. This was the sentiment last season and H-town rolled out of WC with a 3-0 overtime win. I am not suggesting that WC will win this one but if H-town believes their own press again this year they may find themselves in a cat fight. However, the Wildcats played Beech at home last year much better than they played them on the road this year. Hendersonville is a tough place to go in and get a win but not impossible. Good luck to both teams and may all players and coaches stay healthy.
  7. No we gave it up we run some two back and I stuff mostly now. We still run a little wing T action. We have been tested at D Back this year and faired okay in one game and not so well in the other. The kid from Rhea County threw it all ofer the field but only hit the deep route once. Seigle picked us apart pretty good. Have the turnover issues at McGavock been worked out. We have a stingy D and they have lived off turnovers in our two wins. Good luck to both teams and may everyone stay healthy.
  8. It dosen't hurt that the fathers play old game film for their sons when they are still in the womb. A play book is distributed with every male childs birth certificate and they start to run the plays on the playground at pre-school. They also start teaching the basics of the play book to their pee-wee teams so that by the time they arrive as Freshmen in high school they do not have to think about what to do on any given play they simply react at the snap. Throw in an excahnge student or two every now and then and the occasional recruit uhhh.... transfer and that is the perfect recipe for success.
  9. WOW this topic is a house a fire!!! Where are all the Wildcat and Raider fans? The boys are looking pretty good in practice this week from all indications the cats want this one and are preparing to redeem themselves for a poor performance last year.
  10. This is a gut check game for the Wildcats. I think this comes down to who wants it more. The only time I have seen McGavock was against MJ and they looked like they had no idea where to go or what to do in that game. I am sure they are a much more organized team now. If the Wildcats will come out and play as hard at Homecoming as they did last Friday night against Gallatin they can get another win and even up the record at 3-3. The big test will be can they put together four quarters of offense and control the clock. The D has kept them in ballgames and some mistakes by Gallatin helped last week. Good luck boys and don't get caught up in the home coming hoopla.
  11. 42-0 just because Creasey will call the dogs off after the first half quarter three drives. I am just glad the boys can ease back into a game after a week off. Also, I read in the other thread that the JV lost to Father Ryan??????? Creasey lost to a TN team????? Next thing you know he'll only beat RBS by 50 and then there will be trouble.
  12. "Da Bears" in a barn burner 17 - 16 in OT
  13. Yep its called the TSSAA re-drawing the districts. 9AAA or 7AAA WC is not doing well in either. I am a WC fan but facts are facts. We would be in the bottom half of either of those districts. If we wanted to get in an easy district we should have went to Williamson county or the District with cookeville. We do not have much depth and the conference we play in doesn't really matter at this point. I have to agree if we do not come to play Friday it could get messy. I just hope everyone stays healthy on both sides.
  14. That's why they call them predictions maybe there right and maybe their wrong but I have seen Beech Gallatin and MJ play this year and to be honest the Gallatin MJ game could have gone either way and Beech did not look great against a good opponent in game one. Gallatin lost to a powerhouse in Canton. But as the saying goes Any Given Friday. That's why we play em. and I agree with you next week should give us all a better idea of how this one could go. I also wanted to say this may be the 2nd toughest region in AAA in the state I still believe that 7AAA is slightly tougher week in and week out. IMHO
  15. Just wanted to get this one started up. Good Luck to both teams. Looking forward to Gallatin coming to visit Central
  16. You didn't I did! You can see it your way and I can see it mine that's the great thing about this country. Prior to that pass the young man had thrown for almost 200 yards in the game with a three score lead and 7:00 min to play in the game my opinion is it was a "un-classy" call. You can call it whatever you like if "Karma" doesn't suit you but if Smyrna or Riverdale is up on the Stars by three scores and throw a 65 yard touch down in the fourth quarter with less than 10:00 to play your telling me siegel fans would not consider that "un-classy". Guess I will have to wait and see.
  17. I agree with this Post for the most Part. From the Looks of things Gallatin will win the Region, Mt.Juliet I believe will wind up second, Beech third, Hendersonville fourth, Wilson Central fifth, Station Camp sixth Lebanon Seventh and Portland eighth. Just from the games I have seen in the region and the remaining schedule. Hendersonville beat Lavergn by seven tonight which causes me to put them fourth. I am sure there will be some surprise upsets this year but I do not believe that the top four will really change much maybe Hendersonville can beat Beech but the bottom half of the teams might change slightly if SC can beat WCHS in week 9. Just my two cents worth. Looking forward to having Gallatin come visit us Friday night. Maybe Gallatin's starting offense can take the starting D out for shellfish on Thursday and contract food poison. LOL Just kidding!
  18. Well the best players won tonight that I cannot argue. I hoped we might have something after the fumble recover and score in the First quarter but our offense continues to struggle. No doubt the Stars played well. The only thing I saw tonight that disappointed me was the decision by siegel's coaching staff to throw the ball when leading 26 to 7 with 7:00 min to go in the game. I know it is up to one team to stop the other and all the arguments but I felt it was a classless move on the part of an otherwise classy program. I have seen siegel teams play since the school opened and never thought they would do that sort of thing. The Wildcats had not moved the ball all night against their D and did not show any signs that they were going to start. If siegel had ran the ball down and scored up 26 to seven okay we couldn't stop you but to throw with the game already decided just to pad your QB's stats did not sit well with me, and that young man #10 played a great game. Btw before you start with all your snippy comments about how the game is played for 48 minuets and blah blah blah just remember Karma is a B^*ch and when a team runs it up on you remember this post. Feel free to bash away and tall me I am just crybabying but there is something to be said for doing things with class. I recall a time when the wild kitties as you call them were wearing out the stars just a few short years ago and our HC called off the dogs early in the Fourth quarter to keep from running it up. May the bashing of my comments begin.
  19. I knew you before the name change from Jellison to Carman. You were a pretty good member of the Color Guard and I used to throw my Hat a lot when I got mad a Rick Moore and James Chambers Ringing any bells? Hope you had a good time at the game. I was busy with one of my own over in the Boro. Way to go Jackets I hate that Moose's boys lost a tough one but they will bounce back no doubt. Hopefully I can make it to a game during our off week.
  20. Just realized who you are!!! Please smack Brad Smith in the back head for me. His sister would really appreciate it. Have Fun at the game tonight. And tell Joines to have the band Play Tequila for me!!!!!
  21. "No your wrong Colonal Sanders uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh" I leave for a few days of R & R and come back to meyham. I amy not post much but I love this place we are all crazy. I hope you all bring the rain gear cause tonight could get messy with the weather. Good luck Jackets!!!! P.S. If someone in Hartsville could slap the Bald guy who works for the Gas company in the back of the head for me I would really appreciate it. Were Family so I give you permission.
  22. Back in the 90's there were several teams in the Boro that played at MTSU but the $$$$$ you get for playing at home is to much to have any of the teams really consider this, gate is only part of it. The schools would also lose concession money. It would be great for the fans but cost the schools too much lost revenue. Honestly the host team for Riverdale v Smyrna can bankroll their bus bills with that game every other year. Plus the cost of using the facilities aside the atmosphere would be much different and I think you wold lose some of the excitement and negate the homefield advantage.
  23. Coach Aric as the head coach at Portland next year? Really? I am not sure about that. Lets just be honest, Portland is playing in a 5A and 6A District with some of the best teams in the state you should expect some growing pains. Lets not throw anyone under the bus just yet. The only thing I would suggest to the Portland team is build around your strengths and focus on getting better week to week. Good luck to you except when you play the Wildcats.
  24. Well, for an up to date reply I must say the wildcats did not fair as well as they'd hoped against the bucs. They are fairly healthy but remember we are very young (not in age but in experience) most of our players up front are experiencing some growing pains. From what I saw Friday night it might be a good time to mention tackleing is a huge part of football and we do not wrap up. The young man from Beech was hit often but not wrapped up which lead to him running the ball a long way, a lot. Also, we were not able to get pressure on a good quarterback and he made us pay for that. I will give Beech their due they beat us in every facet of the game, but that was last week and this week we have Siegel. Can we beat them? Sure we can....Any Given Friday as the WC shirts read. Will we? If we learn to wrap up and dictate the tempo of the game then we can. The current HC has had some success figuring out the Siegel offense in the past but with the physical weapons they have we will have to play hard and force some turnovers like we did in our first two games. As another poster said we were dominated statistically by the two teams we beat but the two big statistical categories we won were turnovers and the only one that counts SCORE! Sometimes it is a beautiful thing to be lucky. I wish the Wildcats the best on Friday and hope everyone on both sides stays healthy. BTW gladmom I do not coach football at WCHS I am just a fan of the team and a respecter of what those young men and their coaches (all of them even the ones some people do not like)do week in and week out. Also as an aside it is much more plesant at the games to not hear parents or students cursing our players and coaches this year. Apparently those folks all graduated or transferred thankfully.
