  1. i would like to see union city play TC or Alcoa.. the MUS game would be no contest with Bunnetti
  2. Im from union city.. just tryin to gather some info.. i heard that PC runs a version of the veer am i correct? If i am then the way to beat WC and many other teams is to pound them up the middle with a big strong and fast FB.. UC had Josh Nicks (6'1" 245lbs 4.6 40 yd dash) last year and absolutely pounded everybody up the middle.. couldnt be stopped.. do that for about 3 qaurter with a few sweeps to the outside about every 3rd or 4th play then everything will start opening up.. the defense will be on it's heels for the entire 4th quarter and thats when you take the game over.. your offense better be in shape though or the scheme is useless cuz your TOP will be extremely high.. they say that sometimes offense is your best defense so be in shape.. use linemen that are big but can explode off the ball, drive defenders back, but most of all linemen that are disceplined and will do what you tell them to no matter what.. on defense you also must HIT EVERY SINGLE PLAY!!! WC was a tough bunch of kids i will give it to em but the veer starts takin affect around the 4th qaurter.. dont bite my head off on this post.. it was union city's strategy to a state championship last year but it doesn't mean it will work for anybody.. the drive and the desire must be there and the weightroom must be used on a daily basis cuz thats where it all starts good luck to PC from UC
  3. Roy Dillard is kinda like the little that brother that tags along everywhere you go . It's kinda annoying when all you hear from him is about that book and the 50 yrd dash
  4. im pretty sure Union City would be willing to play you guys
  5. UC will be the team that nobody will respect bc of the huge loss of seniors in 09 and they will come in underestimating the talent that UC has.. We will be fine this next year.. not callin for any state championships til about 2011 or 2012 but UC will surprise some teams this.. i beliive more team speed and quickness will benefit this year.. im calling for more explosive plays like the jet sweeps and misdirection plays this year.. UC will most likely not be the grind it out team that we saw this past year bc of lack of size in the OL and the loss of J. Nicks but Keylon Hyde is stepping up and from what i hear about the scrimmage against MCK he is doing just fine.. this is just what i think. it may be completely wrong but just gives you a few things to think about Union City 2009 First EVER Class A State Champions (12-2)
  6. The last meeting between these team UC shot themselves in the foot in the second half. UC was shocked at how fast and easily they put up 28 points against such a qaulity team as H-Town. And i think that H-Town was shocked as well. But trust me this won't happen again. Both teams know what each other have and there will no surprises this time around. If you don't know anything about these teams then the one thing you must know that both teams are just gonna bow up and hit you right in the mouth. It's simple. It comes down to who can stop the others offense. I think that UC's offense is harder to stop. Now im not taking anything away from H-Town. Just stating opinions. It's gonna be a good game thats for sure. Same game only that UC comes out on top this time.
  7. i agree Butchie.. but anyways.. congratulations to DT Ronnie Fair on being a Mr. Football Defensive Lineman Finalist
  8. volfan you may have predicted us to win but the way you chose to was very condesending. You know for a FACT that UC is way more than 21 points better than SF. Yeah Avent may score; sometimes you can't help that but do you really believe that their defense can hold UC to 28 points?????? "UC has no passing game..." You know why?? they don't need one!!! at least not yet.. but trust me when i say this.. they are working on it everyday in practice.. don't be surprised if UC comes out throwing the ball this Friday night.. and then you can just criticize how poor our run game is
  9. thanks for the support Eagle.. im thinking that SF will try to stop the inside game this week because of the success that UC had with it during Week 10.. this shouldn't bother UC at all because field conditions this Friday should be much better than they have for the past month.. the outside running game should cause problems for SF this week.. Too much veer for the Red Devils.. It can't be completely shut down
  10. hey roy, what about the union city vs south fulton game? union city killed em two weeks ago 41-0.. u think im kidding because i am not but what do ya think bud?
  11. South Fulton comes to Union City for the second round of the TSSAA State Playoffs this week. Union City comes in after having a bye week to heal up and work on fundementals. South Fulton comes in after thrashing Gleason 41-6 (or something along the lines of that) Two weeks ago Union City went on over to South Fulton and shut them out 41-0 Thoughts and predictions?
  12. I think most of the Jo Byrns people are expecting Union City. We aren't counting our chickens either. I think Union City has a chance to make it that far as well.. It's gonna be hard for Huntingdon to beat this team twice in one year.. UC shot themselves in the foot the last they played H-Town by letting up in the second half.. i can assure you of one thing: Union City is on a mission
  13. now i don't wanna count my chickens before they hatch but i'm just curious.. who does JB expect to be playing in the semifinals? Huntingdon or Union City? like i said im just curious
  14. i have to disagree on this part.. kendric price from UC recorded a 4.5 in 40 yard dash not too long ago.. but who cares right? UC has enough speed to contain him anyways.. from the game film that watched of the UC vs SF game it seemed that SF just gave up around the 3rd qaurter.. tackling became sloppier.. blocking became worse.. but it could have just been the conditions.. this is just my OPINION.. dont chew me up and spit me out over it
  15. roy dillard sounds like a third grader when he talks. at least thats the mental picture i recieve when i read his posts
  16. Huntingdon's defense is not fast enough to stop the Rebels McKenzie has too many weapons on offense Also Mckenzie's defense is bigger faster and stronger H-Town's linebackers are slow but they can hit a lil bit McKenzie should come out on top UC people are thinking about becoming "Rebel fans" for at least ONE week even tho it hurts SO SO SO bad
  17. one or two weeks ain't gonna get you much stronger for the playoffs bud.. sorry to let you down but lifting during the WHOLE season will help you tremendously coming playoff time you see, most teams stop lifting weights when the season but if you do you are only making yourslef weaker. Teams that continue to lift during the season come out to be bigger, faster, and stronger by the time the playoffs role around
  18. it will be close at first if all SF players are healthy but it is nearly impossible to COMPLETELY stop every aspect of the veer.. and i wouldn't count out the passing game just yet.. the last four games have all been muddy, sloppy ones and that doesn't help ANY team look for Bowling to come out ready to chunk it deep a coupla times
  19. i don't think thugs are quite the correct word for McKenzie is (no offense guys) i mean Thugs+Rebels=Civil War
