What a great high school football game. It was everything that it was hyped to be. Not just the play on the field but the respect and class both teams played with. Both teams showed a great deal of respect for each other and the game. How lucky we are to live in a county with so many great teams and talent. Now let's all get behind Riverdale and keep the gold ball in the county!!!!! GO WARRIORS!!! Represent our community with class, heart, and effort!!!

Actually, I counted 6 "transfers" for my local public school team. And they made no bones about why they "transferred" either. And I'm dang glad to have them! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> And I am guessing the school they transferred from is dang sad to lose them.

I would throw open enrollment schools in with the privates and magnets - actually easier to go to an open enrollment than a magnet. And why is it that schools are allowed to have open enrollment? Because they don't have any good players in thier zone so they open it up to whoever wants to show? Oh yeah, they have to provide thier own transportation. If you think that private schools don't have the resources then I guess they don't charge enough tuition or have enough pancake breakfast fundraisers.

Nice job reading the title of the board. If you don't have any graduates for 2010 worthy of talking about then start a who is the best 2011 graduate or just wait until next year to post. Based on the posts I have seen you make I am guessing the Farragut program would appreciate a years break from you anyway.

I saw on the FFA board that Overton was also recruiting a kid for the dairy cattle judging team. They got 2 kids last year for the beef cattle team and are rounding out a state winning team by getting a dairy judge ringer.

This will be an ESPN classic from the start. However wins should represent Rutherford county well in the next round. Keep the ball in Rutherford County period.

Sounds like his injury was almost identical to how the Cookeville TE got hurt against us. I am glad to hear no surgery needed! Next year we play ya at ya's place in week 10. I can't speak for every Riverdale fan, but a bunch of us realize it is just kids playing a game and the only thing that makes us different from a Star or a Bulldog or a Patriot or Wolverine or a Blaze is the color of the shirt or hat. We are all parents or friends or fans. And because no good novel is complete without some conflict, we have to have someone wear a different shirt to make the game mean something. Excellent post!!! This could not have been said better!!!! A community united can compete and through victory AND defeat teach our young generation honor, character, and leadership. We can't forget that they are the ones that will be the next leaders and decision makers of our community and what they learn will come from the examples and influence of those they see.

Yeah um there was no praying when the hit came at ALL, you were still trying to pull it together when he was helped off the field... Yeah you got in a "prayer circle" when PBD's son was hit but I'm sure that was ONLY to make sure you didn't get ANOTHER 15 yarder.... And NO, when you get called classless it doesn't mean that you are winning it simply means you are classless. PPL don't hate Riverdale because they are good, they hate Riverdale because they act like a bunch of thugs.... guess they get that from living in Warrior Motel, no WAIT I'm sorry there is no such thing as Warrior Motel, that is just something the Riverdale hating teams have come up with.... my bad, it's not true I promise... no one at Riverdale does ANYTHING wrong, what was I thinking.... Oh and of course Riverdale didn't deserve ANY of the penalties they received tonight (or any other night) that's called "home cookin" right? And what "things" did Blackman do tonight that would even COMPARE to the actions and attitude of SEVERAL Riverdale players? 22 needs to get hit in the mouth next week and I'll be there to watch Oakland deliver the blow. GO OAKLAND!!!!!!! I have no dog in this hunt but went to both games to watch good football in Rutherford County. Good football is what I saw. Both teams are good. What seems to get in the way is the fans that get on here and talk like idiots!! Good parents and good kids on two good football teams. Since this seems to be a constant issue with fans pointing out kids I will give you something to think about. As an impartial bystander I will tell you what I saw at both games.....After the win at Riverdale players, multiple, went to the Riverdale side and made your crotch grabbing gesture to just metion a few at the Riverdale players. I blame the coaches and administration not the kids as class is taught there. The Riverdale kids should have taken a knee sooner, so what, they did and circled up to pray for a great player in Patton which I have heard of them doing before for other injured teams. After watching both games with no dog in the hunt Riverdale showed far more class in winning than Blackman but that is not the kids fault that is how they are allowed to act. Admistrators from Riverdale were on the field and keeping a tight grip on thier students after the game, that is not opinion that is fact. Point is fans people can get on here and type for hours and point out incidents on both sides of poor judgement and questionable plays on both sides. Don't be quick to throw stones when as many stones can be thrown back at you. These are teenage kids. These are two good football teams in Rutherford county. Both have had good seasons. There are good AND bad at BOTH. It is usually the adults and fans that get in the way of good high school athletics. So how about this...Go Rutherford County!!! Let's try to raise a good community instead of trying to generate hate and division.

As far as the "real world" is concerned, I would be more than happy to compare how blackman grads do in the real world compared to riverdale grads. I think we win that arguement every time. I have tried to stay out of this but can't any longer. Both sides of the fans have openly acknowleged that this guy is an idiot and does not represent the rest of the fan base. I know kids and parents at both schools and both graduate great kids that have gone on to do big things and both happen to have really good football teams this year. The guy starting all of this is a complete idiot so just leave it at that and all of the normal people should just keep the kids out of it.

Yep, sure do. And how bout you whine some more, PLEASE. There's no such thing as open zoning. Move to the Bearden area and try to go to Farragut to play baseball. 1. you wouldn't be able to. 2. you wouldn't be good enough to play. 3. Farragut dominates all williamson county teams and every team in the state for that matter. their track record speaks for itself. move to AA if you wanna championship. Not a Williamson county team but Collierville beat you last year and Pfeifer was pitching. Farragut is good but can be beat. Like I said in my earlier post, the reason people don't like Farragut is not because they are good but because of fans like you. Zero respect for the game and other teams in the state. Learn to respect the game and you might find your team will get more respect. Based on your history I don't believe that will ever happen. Not all fans from Farragut are like you but the handful that are reflects negatively on the entire program.

That is what makes people not like Farragut. Has nothing to do with them being good. They are and congratulations on that. It is the handful and arrogant fans that say stupid things all the time that cause people to not like them and give them less respect.

WOW - Best post I have ever seen you make. Play hard, win, be huble and give credit to other good teams will get your program respect. There are several good teams in Rutherford County and one can be the other on any given Friday night. When any Rutherford county team plays outside the district then everyone should be rooting for them. The more all win outside the district the stronger looks and the more attention it get's. You usually make me mad by posting stupid things but good job.

Show some class and respect for other county schools and you might get more compliments for the team.

This post does not even make sense, what the heck does inappropriate passes have to do with anything and if you are a Riverdale Parent then why are you refering to him as "your coach" and not our coach??? If everyone is trying to protect Riverdale then why did the girls basketball team get sanctioned for something that was inocent? Why did Riverdale not even make the playoffs last year with all this talent they recruited. Oakland won a state title last year so we should investigate them for recruiting. Smyrna won 2 so who recruited Sonny Gray and Wilkes? Blackman had more kids go out for football than any other high school so who is investigating them? If this guy is so great and Riverdale is so bad then move to Oakland and shut up.

I also heard a rumor about some text messages he was sending around to the RHS players last week saying something about "if you wit me, leave the spear, and jump on with tha O?" Whatever that means? This guy seriously needs to go on back to Alabama... And there was talk during the summer that Gooch was going to transfer to OHS this season... I wouldnt be surprised if Byron was behind all that as well... But what good would Gooch be a OHS? They dont ever throw the ball anyway! Not an expert but that sure sounds and aweful lot like recruiting to me. Where is the news stations and TSSAA now? Really poor taste Oakland!!!

Sounds like sombody didn't get their nap out. If you can't play nice with the other kids you will be sent to your room and no bed nite snack. WE ARE BLACKMAN! and we ain't skeered! If you aint scared then write on your own thread and take shots at the team you are playing tonight not later in the season.
