  1. TCA's problem has always been defense. They just can't stop or even slow down good teams. Rather that team can pass or run. Until that's emphasized......well you know
  2. believe it or not, it will boil down to defense for uc. the past 2 years, uc's defense trastically improved. they used to struggle stopping people but the past 2 years you saw where having all those 3 year starters understand how important it is and they bought in to just playing hard nose defense. offense will take care of itself if they don't turn it over
  3. who is clocking all these 'sub 4.6s'? some of the fastest athletes in the NFL barely run in 4.5s. I guess iphones are doing the clocking
  4. i like the optimism from a loyal fan. smoking glue is new I guess
  5. TCA starts 0-3. mark it down. defense will be weak and no QB for the spread
  6. a lot of what he says is true. only part that is assumption is the tuition part. but we all know that if a top area athlete comes in the door to play at a private school, the head of the school and coach ARE going to find a way to get him or her in to participate. money will not be an issue. it's not being said but true how many student athletes at no fault of their own have financial advantages too. rather it's by their family sending them to the best camps growing up etc or by the private school itself having the best facilities that money can offer. it's a big advantage to a very rural high school with little funds that can't offer these types of advantages. but that's not a knock on the private schools at all. but in fairness they should compete against each other in post season play. the only big issue I see is travel for parents in the playoffs. I guess that's a sacrifice for sending their kid to a private school. Jackson Sun article on public/private split featuring McKenzie Coach is weak, weak, weak! He is very misinformed and makes some far fetched assumptions.
  7. Ask their coaching staff if they didn't take that game serious. or if their players didn't get after hard in 7 on 7 games. that's a very interesting statement! quote name="Hater_Nation_Rules" post="3340511" timestamp="1432333903"] If you are counting the 2nds on 2nds..Humboldt beat Westview. The 1 to 1 match ups goes to WV. WV and DC tied. I think Dresden has the upper hand for the next 2 years against WV. They have a lot of size and WV is very, very lean on the lines this year. Either way it goes, it'll be a better game than last year and should be close. I still don't think WV takes that game very seriously and they seem to come in to that game like it's a scrimmage or at least they have the last 4 years. Milan and Liberty are probably the powerhouses of the district. Ready for fall!
  8. they don't know the spread. they will go back to i. mark that in stone
  9. Find it hard to believe a bunch of kids are benching 300lbs. Thats very very rare in high school. With spotters, sure maybe. Especially small schools.
  10. It's real simple, and your problem is the same at about 75% of other schools. Personal Agenda!!
  11. There's two sides to this. Teams that are continually successful have kids move into their system to play football. Therefore it makes it hard for coaches to leave even for alittle more money because they know the players will keep pouring in. I.E. Maryville. If you look at smaller schools in small towns, even if they win consistently, not very many people move into that town just to play football because no job opportunities. You might say what about the schools like a Knox West, etc. Well look at who they are competing with in their town to get those kids........ Therefore when the well runs dry or money comes up, they tend to take off. I don't see this changing.
  12. Shouldn't be close. He has dominated the district the past 2 seasons. I bet his stats over the past 2 seasons against the district has been unreal. And UC didn't lose a district game, nobody even played past 2 1/2 quarters with them. Not sure how there can by an argument. Cant say well he has played behind this oline, that oline. I've seen games where the oline didn't block so well but Henry still took over.
  13. It's simple. Call it if it's obvious. Keep the game under control on the field. Quit worrying about the sidelines and let the coaches do that. WHEN a mistake is made, own up to it and talk to the coach.....that alone goes a long long way! Too many try to be noticed instead of letting the kids be noticed. The refs are working 2 hours a week on a game while the kids are preparing 15+ hours. I understand some refs do not try to have anything to do with the outcome of a game and do a good job but so many know there are zero consequences in place for doing a horrible job so when they do, it just rolls off their back and they move on.
  14. Better bring some players with him. Bare cupboard regardless of middle school or whatever. Same things are said every year with no changes. Hope the best for him.
  15. Will win 2-3 games a year. Just a reality. Athletes just not there. Usually pretty hard to compete without them.
  16. Just wondering....when is the last time Bruceton beat somebody pretty good or finished higher than 4th in the district???
  17. Sound like a Adamsville recruiter. Typical. As with every year I was at the MCHS-Adamsville game and can't believe with all the fanfare that our new coach came in with that the incidences in this game have kept fans so quite. Is this truly what MCHS athletics has come too? A coach ejected and you get a standing ovation as you leave the field? You have a school board member pass the hat in the crowd as to help pay his fine??? Do they have an idea of the TSSAA slogan: Just do what's right??? Did they hear the announcements that the TSSAA has all member schools read before the game about sportsmanship??? As a resident who supports both schools with my tax dollars this was an embarrassment. The Coach's behavior definitely trickled down because you had a player also ejected. WOW.....surely we can do better than this. No one, after seeing this display should ever be critical of a parent for choosing to send their kid to another school. Just something to start a conversation!
  18. You are such a positive person. I'm sure the players like reading your crap about the team. Hopefully they will step up and prove you wrong but then you will probably make other excuses or negative comments. You're one of those in the stands that knows the game better than coaches so here is a good idea, go get your education degree and become a coach so you can win all the time and never ever play any kind of politics. Heck these kids and coaches work their tails off to try to be successful but that's overlooked by the 'coaches in the stands'
  19. Might get what they want in the Jamboree this August. They are both in the Henry County one. But not sure who is playing who.
  20. Who all is going to be in HC's jamboree this coming fall? Always a great atmosphere
  21. Just figured it's time to start a new title and thread instead of the negative title on the other one. Good luck in Selmer. Should be fine if everyone commits to expectations and support needed to be successful.
