  1. UC had two of their starting backfield last Friday night that they didn't have against Peabody. UC had two of their starting secondary last Friday night that they didn't have against Peabody. UC had no fumbles last Friday night and lost 2 against Peabody. UC has won 4 state championships over the last nine seasons...but that won't be in the back of anyone's minds. This should be a much different ballgame at the rematch this week.
  2. UC’s 7 fumbles on Friday night didn’t look like darn good execution.
  3. Temperature is Mayfield’s friend, UC doesn’t have enough subs to keep it going in the early season heat. This game needs to happen in second half of season.
  4. UC has been one dimensional for the past 10 years and there's no indication that will be changing this year. Fumbles have been a problem in some of our earlier games. The line is the question mark for this season.
  5. Barring injury and attrition, Union City will have a similar caliber team in 2018 as they had in 2017. The line may be suspect in two positions at first, but that will mold into shape before mid-season.
  6. I do believe it is over a 9 season span.
  7. Sounds like your only problem next year is that you're still stuck in the same region.
  8. That's a very complimentary post. Your campus and facilities are very nice and your team displayed good sportsmanship. UC played well tonight. Not sure that we had any penalties on offense. The 3rd quarter was impressive. CA gets the opening kickoff and drives to the one yard line and stalls. UC uses the remainder of the quarter to drive the field and still runs a couple of plays in the 4th quarter on the same drive. You don't often get to see both teams only have one possession each in one quarter. Our two pass plays also worked out well.
  9. We had zero yards passing last week. Stop our run and we are done.
  10. Wonder if anyone predicted these two teams a few weeks ago for this semi-final game ?
  11. No sales on purple paint this year. Grass is still green. Field looked great tonight.
  12. Exciting game. Plenty of flags to go around.
  13. It is not very hard to lose to a good team twice.
  14. UC averages 41 points per game. Peabody averages 36. I'll take a scoring match.
  15. UC would not be UC without a suspect pass defense. The key to UC victory will be the offense. If the UC offense puts the ball on the ground 4 times, regardless of who recovers the ball, and commits 75 yards of penalties, it will be a long night. Remember also that UC was down 14-0 in the first matchup. Something changed on the team after that and we scored 21 unanswered points. That something is much better now than then.
  16. UC D still leaving receivers wide open. That's going to cause a loss if not corrected.
  17. They took their cleats and went home. Defenses are overrated anyway. Who needs them? Actually as Bigswo says, a few key players have returned this week and the team looks better.
  18. Correction. Seems like it was a block in the back penalty.
  19. If UC had not fumbled nor had a holding penalty, they probably wouldn't have punted in this game. Defense has left the building.
  20. Since the temperatures are colder later in the year, that would benefit UC because of less cramping. Their lineman and most backs have to play both sides of the ball. UC stopped UC offense in the first game. Every drive was stalled by a faulty center to qb exchange, mishandled qb to rb handoff, or offensive penalty but still managed to gain over 300 yards rushing. UC would still have no answer for Mayfield's passing attack.
  21. UC line looked good on both sides of the ball. Linebackers gave their all tonight.
