  1. I'm starting to hear that Halls has a pretty good backfield this year. We'll find out tomorrow night. You know, it just dawned on me that purple Kool-Aid just so happens to be my favorite flavor of Kool-Aid.
  2. I can see West Carroll plodding into the top ten.
  3. Citrus, your reading comprehension is getting fuzzy. The big hearted fan from Henry county was the one talking about which UC team was best. I'm just talking about how fast this team looks. It'll take them 12 more games to get into the "best team ever" argument.
  4. I'm talking about the fastest, not the best (yet). What beat the '97 team was a 4th down roughing the passer penalty and SPEED. I'm saying that the starting 11, top to bottom, maybe the fastest. The '05 team was fast, but not as strong. The '97 team was my favorite until '09. The '00 and '09 teams have to be thrown in with '97 as the best teams ever at UC.
  5. UC should win big. I believe this is the fastest UC team of all time. Do any of you UC fans remember a faster one? Look at who starts in the backfield and in the defensive secondary. Even the subs are greased lightning. The line and linebackers are also plenty fast. Barring fumbles or injuries, it's hard seeing this team being beat. Maybe I'm being a little biased.
  6. Hey big guy, I don't suppose you could correct the spelling of our town on this post?
  7. The clock won't stop once the third quarter starts. My objective opinion.
  8. $3.60/gallon gas, 141 miles, and a live radio broadcast will keep several fans at home. I think we'll have a decent following there but won't be as many as last time we paid you a visit.
  9. You won't get much sympathy from the UC faithful. We had to put a tackle at quarterback when we played you last year. We were also playing the second of four centers when we played you. Our qb went out right before the season started last year and our center went out during the first game. Pretty tough to overcome in single A ball.
  10. I think I'd tighten those chin straps WC. This UC team has potential to be as good or maybe better than the '09 team. This team is definitely faster and overall team strength is probably greater. This team can rotate at least 9 different offensive linemen, 8 different defensive linemen, 4 or 5 different linebackers, and 5 or 6 different defensive backs. If this team can keep their fumbles to a minimum and show that they are as salty as the '09 team, well "Katie bar the door!" Of course we may need to wait about 3 more games before getting too excited.
  11. UC by 14. Looks like the last time we'll be playing each other for a while. Good for OC.
  12. Congratulations to Humboldt. You've got a good, sound team. UC is sort of like the Vols this year, they are painful to watch at times. It seems that every game they play is like they are playing their first game of the season. It's a shame that they aren't realizing their full potential on the field. At least they're hosting the first playoff game and regular season records no longer matter.
  13. In order for UC to have a shot at victory, they must not turnover more than one of their five fumbles, not commit any penalties on third down, and hope that Humboldt doesn't run many pass plays. As far as the LC game, 5 turnovers for UC and a LC receiver with 250+ yards is all you need to know about that game.
  14. Livingston Acadamy beat David Lipscomb in 2005 for the state title. LA wound up with a 10-5 record. They won 5 straight postseason games.
  15. I don't think the playoff system is a joke. It's single elimination so if you lose, you go home. I've seen a 5-5 regular season team win the state championship. Looks like UC has a few problems that should not be that hard to correct, but they seem to be incompetent at fixing them. The fumblitis disease is a frustrating thing to watch week after week. How can you have one of the fastest secondaries in single A and leave so many receivers wide open? Without correcting these problems, they're going to have a pretty tough time advancing in the playoffs.
  16. Was Wayne County the juggernaut that rolled into the Huntingdon jamboree and showed the mighty West Carroll how to play football?
  17. What are you Wayne County boys preparing to defend, the mid-line veer or the wildcat spread? Those are two totally different offenses. If you know, let us know because we don't know what to expect.
  18. Kudos to the OCCHS offense. That's the most talented offense that they've had in the history of their program. Time will tell if it'll be their most successful. UC offense needs to add some more plays to the veer this week besides the fullback dive. Keep plugging on UC. Dealing with adversity builds character.
  19. UC's new qb played fullback in middle school and has played DE and OG in his high school career. He got to play qb for the first time on the day before the jamboree. Piece of cake. (Still plays DE of course) He'll do alright and is the type to push himself to get better with each practice. If last year's game was close, there's not much reason that this year's won't be. UC played the game with jv sophomores last year.
  20. Football's in the air! I'm anxious to see the Golden Tornadoes in action. I believe they'll do a wee bit better than 5th in the district.

  22. Probably should. Union City and Huntingdon better change their schedules though. Most of their losses come to 2A, 3A, and 4A teams.
  23. Just like the rest of UC's games this year, it will come down to UC's defense. The UC offense will score enough points to win the game.
  24. Difference will be that those big fast backs won't make it through the line next year.
