  1. Idiot?? If you can't read and tell that tie breaker and the playoff tie breaker are two totally different tie breakers then I question who the idiot is! Where does the playoff tie breaker have anythig about meeting on a neutral field and playing the tie breaker rule? READ PEOPLE!! Bradley County is the District Champs! Call the TSSAA when they start taking calls again and you will see Cleveland came in 2nd! Kind of sucks when you think about them getting drilled against Soddy and running around chanting they were the champs! Kind of Embarrassing!!
  2. Wrong!!! But if it makes you feel better then Cleveland is District Champs and then loose in first round of playoffs! Just joking!!! I am looking for a good game!
  3. Probably the wrong blog to be discussing who won the district. If you read the tie breaker rules then you will see where head to head means nothing. Again, call the TSSAA and confirm this. It really doesn't matter anyway, the playoff positions are all that really matter. Wether Cleveland is district champs or not, they need to only worry about Lawrence County!
  4. http://tssaa.org/footballplayoffs/regionalstandings.cfm?class=3 Bradley Central (6A) AAA 5 5 1 167 121 8 2 280 171 Rhea County,Soddy-Daisy,McMinn County,Ooltewah,Walker Valley Cleveland (5A) AAA 5 5 1 185 125 6 4 286 216 Bradley Central,McMinn County,Walker Valley,Rhea County,Ooltewah Soddy-Daisy (6A) AAA 5 4 2 146 79 6 4 227 153 Ooltewah,Walker Valley,McMinn County,Cleveland Rhea County (6A) AAA 5 4 2 165 129 5 5 227 233 Walker Valley,McMinn County,Ooltewah,Soddy-Daisy Ooltewah (6A) AAA 5 2 4 112 142 4 6 195 243 Walker Valley,McMinn County McMinn County (6A) AAA 5 1 5 99 136 2 8 151 202 Walker Valley Walker Valley (5A) AAA 5 0 6 107 249 2 8 211 404 As you can see the TSSAA has Bradley Central ahead of Cleveland. If there is a tie then the District Champs will be determined by the TSSAA tie breaker rules. Never once does it say anything about head to head. I am not saying that is the correct way, I am saying that is how the TSSAA does it. If you do not believe this post then contact the TSSAA and just ask them. I have aslo pasted the tie breaker rule below. Just call the TSSAA and confirm this! D. Teams shall qualify for the play-offs by finishing 1st or 2nd in their district/region or by placing high enough in the state wide standings for their classification based on a set criterion. For the purpose of district/region standings, the following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular season games, both district/region and non-district/non-region, shall count. If at any point when the following tiebreaking procedures are applied, one team has beaten all the other teams that are tied for a play-off position, that team shall be rated above the others. After any position in the district/region standings has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again to determine the next position. This procedure shall be repeated to determine all places in the district/region. 1. The team with the greatest number of victories. 2. The team who plays the greatest number of team who win 50 percent or more of their games. 3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games. 4. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories. 5. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats. 6. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class. 7. Ten yard-line overtime procedure at neutral site Monday night at 7:30 P.M. Once the district/region champions and runners up have been determined, the remainder of the 32 team bracket in 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A and the remainder of the 24 team bracket in 1A and 2A shall be completed with teams as they appear on the overall standings within each classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A). The standings will be determined with the following criteria: Note: Some of the tie-breaker criteria below involve games against non-Division I opponents. If a team plays a school that is not in Division I, the following criteria will be used to determine that schools’ classification for the purpose of breaking ties. Non-Division I being non-TSSAA schools, TSSAA Division II schools, and out-of-state schools.
  5. According to the TSSAA Bradley Central is the District Champs. Please keep in mind that head to head doesn't mean anything anymore. Bradley Centrals 8-2 record made them the District Champs. I am not trying to start anything, ask the TSSAA.
  6. Cleveland likes to pass the ball!! They have an excellent QB and some good recievers. The QB loves to run the ball if the D covers the recievers and does a very good job getting it downfield. Their running game is nothing to brag about but it is good enough to keep a defense honest. Look for the long ball to the outside recievers and the tight end over the middle. I have also heard Voytik(QB) may not play due to a hand injury. It may just be talk but I did notice he did not play in the 4th quarter last game. The lefty backup looked good throwing the ball but didn't run the ball anywhere near as well as the starter. The defense doesn't defend the run well but they are not as bad as Soddy made them look. The travel time is going to be terrible for Cleveland and LCHS usually has a packed house. LCHS has had trouble defending the pass this year. The defense is still good and they love to hit. The run defense is very good! It is no secret they will want to run the ball. They have a couple very good backs and a solid O'line. I look for this to be a pretty good game but LCHS's WingT offense should find lots of openings in the defense. LCHS should move on!
  7. If White county can figure out how to stop the pass they will have a pretty good chance of winning this one. I say Ttwon wins but in a close one!
  8. I for one like the new system. I like the 6 classifications and I like how the TSSAA stuck to their guns and grouped the teams geographical and didn't just put teams in quads for no unknown reason. You are right that everyone can't win but I feel as if the TSSAA has done a great job evening the playing field. Even with this great fix of going to this great 3 classification playoff system you would have the same result of a few liking it and a few that doesn't. I hope they leave it the way it is and just change a few things. The first thing I would look at is overall record being the most important. It may need to be a mathmatical system of the first 3 or 4 tie breakers that determine seeding but that is about all I would change.
  9. Hey guys......I was just looking at some of the things that could happen and it appears that Memphis East could actually have a good shot of getting into the playoffs with a win Friday night. I was wondering if anyone thought that might be a possibility. I do know it they were to make it that it would absolutely change a lot of things in the playoffs.
  10. This District race could go all the way to having to play a mini game from the 10 yard line. I have looked at the numbers and there is a small chance these two teams could actually have to meet at a neutral field and get it on. That would be something else if that happens. Of course it would be an outside chance and everything would have to work out just right. It looks like LCHS, with a win, will win the tie breaker #2. I for one will be paying close attention to this district. Is there any other districts that are this tight?
  11. I agree! The TSSAA needs to just stick with the system and everything will work just fine. Its when they differ from the original plans is when everyone gets confused. If you are going to just put teams here or there then don't make it viewable and just have a drawing at the end of the season.
  12. The tie breaker system is going to be very interesting! Ttown will most certainly be 1st tomorrow since they only have one loss in the district! Ttown must not lose their next two games!! If they do it would certainly be extrememly bad and they could possibly slide all the way out of the playoffs. I know that is a stretch but that is a possibilty. That would put them at 6-4 and with the tie breaker system you never know. That holds true for LCHS and Columbia as well. It appears that that Lincoln County must win their last two games to make it to the playoffs and Shelbyville, Lawrence County, Columbia and Tullahoma would certainly make it with one more win. I see District 8AAA sending 5 teams to the playoffs this year but again all the teams must finish as I am thinking they will. The two teams that I am really watching is Ttown and Lawrence County. Ttown will be tested by Siegels running game. I feel as if there is a strong possibility they may lose out due to the fact they have problems stopping the run and both Siegel and LCHS loves to run the ball right at you. Lawrence County appears to be coming together again and could make a strong finish but only time will tell about them. They need to play well against Hardin County and then it appears they will get all their players back for the last game of the season against Tullahoma. I would really hate to be Shelbyville right at this moment. Lincoln County seems to be coming together just in time to send Coach T out with a bang! The last week in District 8AAA should stack up to be one of the most exciting showdowns in the state with all that is riding on these games and I for one can't wait. Such a shame a person can't be at more than one place at a time!! Good luck to all the District teams in the following weeks.
  13. I don't think you can say the winner of the Ttown/LCHS game will be number 1. If Ttown wins then that statement is correct. If LCHS wins then it is a little more complicated. LCHS could indeed win the district with a win but with all the tie breakers it still has a lot to do with some other schools and wether they win or lose. If you go to the TSSAA website and check out the tie breaker you will see that LCHS would need for a team that Columbia beat to finish with a losing record(Marshall Co.) to win the #2 tie breaker. If Marshall Co. wins one of its remaining two games then they will have a winning record and therefore Columbia would have a good chance to win the district. As I see it, Ttown still is the only team that can control their own destiny. This is going to be a very interesting next couple of weeks in District 8AAA!!!
  14. I am sure both schools are good schools and both have wonderful students but I was also at the game and for the most part your story is correct. The LCHS coaches nor administrator were the ones asking for the spirit squad to be removed from the track. It was no ploy to gain momentum by anyone from LCHS. In fact it was the referee. He stopped play and asked for them to be removed because they were indeed causing some problems. I am not going as far as saying they were doing anything way out of line but for a ref to ask to have them removed something must have been going on. It didn't appear to me that LCHS needed any more momentum than they already had anyways! There were some cheap shots but mostly by the Centennial players. If you don't believe that then look at the personal fouls called on each team. The tackle was not malicious that injured the Centennial player. I did get a good look at that play and it was just football. I was glad to hear the player is OK. The guy in the stand had no business on the field after his actions in the stands! The way he was yelling he may have well started something on the field with the refs. If you want to come on the field then act right in the stands. The father of the player was a class act and was very nice. I also heard Centennial fans as they were leaving running their mouths and saying some pretty crude things. I do hate things got out of hand but I dind't see anything but good hard hitting and that is football!
  15. Hardin County is far from being underrated. They play a very weak first half of the season schedule. They average playing below a 4A schedule. I realize location has a lot to do with this schedule but until they start playing larger schools they can never say they are underrated until the end of the season!
  16. Great post GoChiefs from an old post friend from Lawrence County! Hope yall keep doing well and we have the opportunity to meet yall again in the playoffs. Maybe a later round than last year!! Good luck and never forget about the kids!
  17. Not sure but another poster said they were "3-0 baby"!! Of course another poster said that wasn't being cocky but I beg to differ!! Go Giles county!! I hope yall pound them like you did last year if not worse! I wonder if they will say "3-1 baby" then?? Oh yeah, they were 3-0 last year when yall gave them that beat down.
  18. Celebrating is great but saying 3-0 "baby" is cocky!! U may need to worry about your own team and not a Shelbyville/Franklin county post!! How did Oakland do last night?? You don't have to answer that becasue I already know they won and I am not posting anything on the Oakland/ Siegel post!
  19. Not so cocky there BABY!!! If my memory doesn't fail me I can also remember a 3-0 team rolling into Giles County last year and taking a royal a-- whoppin back home! Take care of business and act like you have won games before!
  20. I officially eat CROW!!!!!! Great game T'town. There must be something to playing at in Tullahoma???
  21. THS.......Columbia beat a very good LCHS team and they also beat a good 6A Dickson County team. I am not positive Blackman would blow them out because I personally don't think Blackman has a great passing game. They of course haven't had to use it yet since they had a cakewalk their first two games! Columbia is very talented though. I am telling you that Shaq Mason is a beast and he is not alone. I am not saying T'town should just write down a loss and give up but it will be very hard for them to win this game. I am not for sure about Goff being injured but even with that I give Columbia a large edge. Davis had better be ready to make some very quick reads to have a big night! I don't think the O'line for T'town will be able to hold off Columbia's defensive line. I will keep track and one of us will have to eat crow come Saturday morning!
  22. I saw Tullahoma play Blackman and I also know Cookeville is not very good this year so I wouldn't get very excited about beating Columbia! Columbia's defense will control this game and there will be no need to score in bunches. For the last time, this game could be played on the moon and it will not change the outcome! Columbia by two touchdowns!
  23. Excellent prediction! Would be a great bet even in Vegas
