  1. Play like a champion? Yes, the McMinn officials do play like champions . . . Clown champions! AWFUL!
  2. Bradley will win - wait, where is it being played? If at McMinn, Bears lose. Worst officials ever!
  3. Neither - I understand the senior had a problem voicing his opinion with the zebras last week. They did not appreciate his humor/truth when he politely objected to the WORST OFFICIATING I HAVE EVER SEEN vs. Mcminn. From the stats and video, the owls did not deserve to win, so i'm over it and moving on. Hint: find that officiating team and hire them for the game. They will make sure Trojans win. With fair and balanced officials, should be good game - hope owls win. Owls 21 - Trojans 14. Trojans will cough up one TD vs owls defense, and Creech will match your all-state WR catch-for-catch, score-for-score. Can't wait!!!!!
  4. Last year the trojans brought us back to reality with a shut-out. I hope the owls can ram it down the trojans throats like they did to us last year. Love our new power running game - still need to work out the kinks. What is owls qb situation?
  5. huge win for owls this week: 35 - 0. Defense is pissed off, hungry for a shut-out, and offense can't wait to score . . . and score . . . and score. Bombs away to Creech, no fumbles this week for #28, TJ scores on a special teams return, and NO MORE ARM TACKLING. Can't wait!
  6. Will CoachT let you update your name to "DREWSDAD"? How's the LB/punter/PAT holder doing? Let's just win, OK? Less fumbles, less penalties, all of our athletes play to full potential and we win: Owls 21 - Stars 20. 30 hours to kickoff.
  7. Owls win 28 - 21. Cleveland QB will score twice by air, but Owls get 3 picks and several sacks against him. Every defensive player in the district wants to shut himn down or keep his results to a minimum (no disrepect here). Cleveland also scores one by ground. Owls have too many offensive weapons for Cleveland. Owls score by run and pass and avenge last's years overtime loss. Can't wait! No injuries for either side.
  8. Very good analysis. Here is my opinion: Ooltewah scores twice on the ground, once from the air, and one by foot. East Hamilton scores one by ground - maybe adding a field goal. Final score Owls 24 - Canes 7. Will be a great game - can't wait!
  9. Really? Please list the "several EH players just ranked by Murphy Fair"? I couldn't find them in my copy. Thank you.
  10. Oh please, get off the crack pipe bully27! Pads do not start until Monday and you are already shoveling horse manure about the big, bad line from EH. Please do not criticize and name individual players on this post - just ain't right. Um, "last few years"? You mean 9-2 in 2009? The Hurricanes are the Owls second game, and I understand they are focused on their first vs. Brainard. Perhaps the "Hurricane form" should focus on their first game - I hear it might be a little tough. Bring lots of your friends to the game, though - we plan to make good use of the gate!
  11. What schools have offerred the senior "in his hand"?
  12. This was a 7 on 7 flag football - no pads, no winning, no losing. Typical high school game has more running game anyway. Notre Dame has strong QB - not much else.
  13. This has been quite a popular thread! I think it just had a baby thread: "Teams Cancelling Matches". Keep it going!
  14. Toon (Ooltewah) wins it all at 215 Watch out for 171 LB at Ooltewah also - will be in finals
  15. About Tyler Toon: Not my boyfriend, girlfriend or son. I just love watching an Owl that is a GREAT wrestler (A-1). Can he be beat - sure, who said he couldn't? He has lost already, of course. But man, he takes it to his opponents like no other heavier-weight (189+) wrestler that I have seen in, yes, many many years. I used to wrestle, gulp, 35 years ago, so I have just a bit of knowledge on this subject. Been watching ever since, approximately 3,000 matches (Jr. High, Varsity, College, Olympics) - and I am a big Owl fan. In addition, I did not say Croy was not great - just said that I want to see Toon beat him in a great match in the finals of the State. You cheer for your guy, I'll cheer for Toon. One more thing, it really does not matter what any wrestler did last year, last weekend, or last match. In February, we all want to see kids wrestle their hearts out. Both Croy and Toon are senoirs - let 'em leave their wrestling shoes at the circle at the end of the match - right? I'll clap for Croy if he wins - will you clap for Toon if he wins?
  16. My respect for Croy (sorry for the previous misspelling) is up about ten notches because of Harvard. Still want to see he and Toon in the finals - with a decision by Toon (wishing for a pin may be a bit too much). Go OWLS!
  17. Toon must be included in any "predictions" at 215. He is the finest wrestler I have seen in years and years. Sorry i missed his loss at Bradley. I would love to see him go at iit in the state finals with crow. What has crow got?
  18. Orea, We're clear - I guess I was just looking for an acknowlegement of the stalling. Of course, Smith would had wrestled Toon hard - it was the coaches decision what weight class to wrestle him. It was the right call - and that is exactly what I would have done to maximize my odds of winning. And I look forward to watching Smith and Toon in the future. I always like watching the bigger kids (150 lb +) wrestle, and I really hate poor HWT matches with no shooting and just a bunch of dancing. Good luck for the rest of the season!
  19. Hey Oreo: Who said anything about coaching? I certainly understand the concept, thank you so kindly, of moving wrestlers around to strategically win a dual meet. That is EXACTLY what Weathers did - and then the Hixson coach had to RESPOND by putting in his HWT. Perfect (and obvious) response by the Hixson coach - there was never a question about that. My post really focused on the poor performance of your senior first-string HWT by stalling to win the match vs. a sophomore 189 lb. Your stands were eerily quiet during the match as they knew what was happening . . . STALL, not wrestle. Why not speak to the heart of the post? We do totally agree on what you said - "Smith did fail". And we also agree on another item - the 130 lb. match was really exciting and a huge win for Hixson, which resultied in Hixson winning fair and square. Coaching was not the issue, poor wrestling by stalling was. You have the video tapes - how many times did Smith initiate action vs. the Ooltewah kid? Obviously the ref thought Smith was stalling, by awarding the Ooltewah wrestler with 2 points. Correct me if I am wrong, but a few more seconds, and he would have been DQ if there was yet another stalling violation. In a state meet, Smith would have been gone. Can I please hear your thoughts on that? Thank you.
  20. This was a great match to watch - but the previous posts do not show how close it was - by 3 total team points! Several close matches either way would have changed the outcome. Nothing to crow about Hixson. Hey - how about your heavyweight wrestling DOWN to 215 to avoid the sure loss to Toon, and then meeting a Sophmore weighing only 185 wrestling up, only to BARELY win - and being charged two points by stalling! What a wuss! Toon would have pinned him in the first period! BTW it was the only stalling points awarded in over 36 matches! These two great teams will both have great seasons - great programs, great individual wrestlers.
  21. Three points to the posts on this thread: 1) We don't need "big" linemen in the halls, we don't need "transfers", we don't need the lost talent from East Hamilton, we don't need a new coach, we don't need the boys that did not choose to play for whatever reason. These are all distractions from the most important point: we need an incredible athlete and leader who can throw the ball . . . yes, a QUARTERBACK! I HOPE I don't have to sit through yet another season without a great QUARTERBACK leading the OWLS! Please let's all agree on that point, OK? I'm talkin' a young Joe Willie, Joe Montana, Marino, Elway, Bradshaw. Can we "horde" B.J. Coleman into putting an Owls jersey on on for Friday Night Lights? I'm dreamin folks, but can you imagine a kid with a GUN of an arm leading us down the field? Quick release, reading the secondary for more than just the first reciever, stiff-arming the defense? Oh, and did I say quick release? GET RID OF THE BALL! 2) You really are on the crack pipe if you don't think that East Hamilton will be a factor to the Owls program in the very near future. Remember - I am a BIG (heh, heh, maybe a little too big) Owls fan, but the Hurricanes will be a real threat. Maybe just two or three years away. 3) Of course the private schools have diluted the public school talent in Chattanooga - DUH!
  22. Who was it? Didn't hear too much bad stuff this week. As far as the "phantom touchdown", it happened on the home side, so how in the heck could a fan from the visitor's side ("100 yards away") see anything anyway. It was a great play. You won, focus on Beardon, please.
  23. Congratulations Farragut! Hate to see us lose so soon in the playoffs, but it is what it is. Farragut was the best team we played all year - very crisp, clean and they took it to us. What was the Ads rushing total? Farragut fans - what up with the sign on the front of your stands - "Owl sez #36 going down, down, down?" I did not understand this for two reasons: 1) he wasn't playing and 2) In a year (or two) you folks will be cheering for this guy in your neighborhood (UT). Great, exciting year for Owls!
  24. The hitting will be extremely hard and you will here it in the stands. Still say home field has 3 point advantage. I'm stoked to watch the Owls regain their composure - show the ads that they CAN have an explosive offense also. Count on Owls to score at least 1 TD on defense.
  25. Even without Smith, Ooltewah will win by three - Ooltewah 17 - Farragut 14. Ooltewah has an awesome TOTAL defense and their depth chart has outstanding athletes that would start on many teams. Owl offense will have a solid game - and then we will host Bearden next week! They will play with emotion on Friday night - Benny has already made the adjustments necessary and watch the Owls swarm to the football! Go Owls!
