  4. Barbee was not her normal self in the 1st half on Saturday. If that was your first time to see her play I can see where you would be skeptical of her abilities- especially with the attitude she exhibited. However, she did finish with 23 pts and 17 rebounds, the majority of which came in the 2nd half and overtime. If you saw any of the state tournament last year you would know that she is the real deal. Middleton gets a lot of her shots because other teams are so keyed in on trying to stop Barbee.
  5. What is your projection for the number of fans that will be in attendance on Friday night?
  6. Well it looks like the private school boys from Nashville didn't do a good enough job recruiting this off-season. Ol' Coach Bowers said they were young and inexperienced. I thought Ensworth didn't rebuild, they just reloaded. At least that is the way it should be when you pluck players from all over the state. Also, I guess the Bonefish in the boro does not have the service of the one in Cool Springs because the stands on the visitors side didn't fill up until mid way through the second quarter. But, that was about a quarter and a half before your team showed up! Dominant performance by the Patriots. Ensworth wouldn't even make the playoffs in 7AAA.
  7. They are coming to RHS this season. I guarantee the Lady Warriors get within 15pts of Central. Could be the other way around!
  8. Maybe, all I know is that was as Win for the Warriors. Just like the 2 wins we had over the Patriots last year. Or maybe that was a freak occurence too.
  9. 96 graduates = 9.4 Million Dollars in scholarships- That is a big Yeah Right! Once again Private School embellishment. They may be paying that much for school next year, but they are not getting that much in scholarship money. We will see how Ensworth does against Rutherford County Friday night against Oakland. Might not be able to spell Pomona, wherever the heck that is, but we can spell ### whipping! Drive your Porsche on over to Patriot Drive Friday night and see how we play ball in the public schools.
  10. Did Gallatin's player get kicked off the team for instigating the altercation? Riverdale's young man will be live and in color under the lights on Friday night.
  11. Just like when the Warriors got down 20-0 against Smyrna last year and came back to beat them. Antioch gets blown out to start the season.
  12. The 1 time out of ten that Lavergne lost was the biggest game of the year that ended their season. On their home floor, to the 6th seed Riverdale. No postseason run for one of the most talented teams in the Midstate.
  13. Micheal Burt will not be the new Shelbyville coach. Possibly Corey Barrett from Hickman County or Tom Insell?
  14. Barbee does not live in Oakland's zone. That is ridiculous. And Congratulations and good luck to both Coach Hodges.
  15. It is Woodson. I have heard Couey may be the new coach at Central Magnet.
  16. Kevin Woodson new Riverdale Boys Basketball coach.
  17. First name of the new coach at Blackman is right, but it will be Kevin Thomas from Shelbyville, not Kevin Woodson. That is the word on the street. 95% sure. His job to turn down and I don't think he will turn it down.
  18. Stephen Hurt has improved by leaps and bounds over the course of his career at Siegel. He has been a huge contributor for the Stars down the stretch, especially in the post season. The Stars have overcome a lot of adversity this season and found a way to make it to the State Tournament.
  19. I guess the Chattanooga officials were racist last night too.
  20. Maybe, but the ones worth keeping are the ones that win in spite of it. Ive never paid a big deal of attention to freshmen teams. The good programs win whether they were good or downright horrible. I think Blackman needs to go the same route Oakland did, hire a guy from out of the Area, who will let the kids play and is young enough to relate to them a little bit. You will see in the next 2 years how important good freshmen teams are when Oakland has a dramatic down turn over the next few seasons. Life after Hughes will be much different for the Patriots. The cupboard is bare. The classes of 2011 and 2012 freshman teams were the worst Oakland has ever put on the floor. We will see how good of a coach Wright really is.
  21. A middle school job is not as good as a high school job in Rutherford County. I know that Mike Wright is an apparent God to you mj, but Oakland Middle will not be the savior you think that it will be if they do not get some athletes. I am not knocking Coach Wright, he has done an amazing job this year, but you have to have the horses to compete.
  22. Great minds think alike. Siegel gets an opportunity for revenge from last year's Region Semifinal game. I think it could get ugly for the Golden Eagles tomorrow night playing short handed without Andrews. What are your thoughts on that game and the other Region matchups?
  23. Jamal Hughes is the best player in 7 AAA hands down. Hammonds when healthy is a very good player, but not as good as Hughes- especially on the defensive end. Gooch from Siegel has really been the glue for that team this season. He is the best athlete in the league. Williams is a quality post player inside, but if he plays someone that matches up with his height he struggles to score. Very good defensively. Craig from Riverdale is a dominant force in the paint offensively and defensively. Smyrna does have a quality player in Josh Woodard, very solid guard not to be overlooked. Lawrence County should not be overlooked. They shoot the ball better than any team in 7 AAA and are deceptively athletic. Their lack of size inside is their major weakness.
  24. I highly doubt that Hibdon will change over to the boys after all of the work he has done on the girls side. Especially with a very talented group coming up. Woodson is the word on the street.
