  1. The game that these young men and coaches work for year round is finally here. Many high school players dream of playing in this game, but few ever get to do it. Luckily for these Central players they get to experience it back to back years. For Summit to be here 8 years into the programs history is also impressive. This should be a great showdown. I hope both teams play to the best of their ability and the better teams comes out on top. I believe for the 2nd year straight it will be the Central Bobcats. Defense is playing too good right now and I believe Rosser will be able to get the offense going and get a couple scores. Can't wait for kickoff! Prediction: Central 20-6
  2. Central has been the undersized team in the trenches in all but 1 or 2 games as well so I understand what you're saying. The defensive line utilizes their quickness and athleticism by slanting and moving gaps post snap most of the game. I think Summit is gonna have a lot of trouble trying to run the ball against this stingy Bobcats D. I would hate to be an offensive coordinator facing that defense right now.
  3. I'm praying it doesn't happen, but id be shocked if defensive coordinator coach Craney doesn't get a couple head coaching job offers this off season. He has done an outstanding job over the last few years, consistently having the best defense in Knoxville. Rosser does a great job running his program and hiring a great all around staff, (IMO one of the best staffs in the state), but that defense has been the reason for so much success during this 4 year run. Hopefully Rosser can continue to work his magic by keeping coach Craney in fountain city.
  4. Summit actually does not have a size advantage upfront, (one of the only times all year for Central). They have a pretty slim looking offensive line and some taller/longer players on the D-line. This will not bode well for the Spartans as Central has dominated bigger and stouter O-lines all season. If I was an opposing coach i would attack Central through the air after watching their previous playoff games. Its been almost impossible to get anything going on that defense on the ground.
  5. Gibbs plays the style of football that gives Central trouble. This bobcats team is filled with athletes but very slim when it comes to trenches. We have seen that Centrals defense is not great at stopping physical teams that run it right at them. And that's exactly what Gibbs is. I expect Central to try and stretch the field a little more and use those athletes on the edges on offense. If they do that and play physical and disciplined defense then Central will win. If not then Gibbs will be victorious again. Central 38-14
  6. It's Daniel Boone... Y'all aren't slowing down any team with a decent passing game, no matter the weather. Every coach on your staff was praying for rain that night because they knew it would be in Boone's favor if it did. Maybe not determine the outcome of the game, but absolutely give them somewhat of an advantage vs a pass heavy team.
  7. Im not talking about power versus spread running. Im talking about a predominately run team against a predominately passing team. That has been the point this whole time. Easy to understand. Weather will affect the outcome of a game and give 1 team an advantage!!
  8. How is it not logical to you that a passing team will be affected by heavy rain much more than a heavy run team? That should be easy to understand. Weather (rain/wind) absolutely gives a predominately running team an advantage.
  9. I think he can break the record and Central still win. We know they are gonna throw the ball 90% of their plays. Last year he threw for 251 and they only scored 12 points. Especially if Central goes up by a few scores, Crockett coach will atleast want his QB to go down in the history books and focus on getting that record.
  10. Region 2 wins 3 out of 4, if not a sweep. South Doyle v Cherokee will not be close. Elijay will be too much. May have 300+ yards. Prediction: SD 56-14. Central v Crockett could be interesting with both teams coming in on multiple game losing streaks. I think Central gets back on track having more athletes and a better defense than Crockett. Prediction: Central 38-14. Halls v Daniel Boone will be a hard noised, physical game. Halls is well coached and #8 for them is a special playmaker. Look for him to be the deciding factor in this one. Prediction: Halls 31-22. TN High v Gibbs is the game I would really like to see. Gibbs runs a hard scheme to defend, especially with the speed and athleticism from the QB #7. If TN High can control the LOS and play disciplined defense they will win, if not then this will be a game that goes down to the wire. Prediction: TN High 34- 28.
  11. Honestly i think Cherokee wins Friday and has to make the first round trip to Central. But if it is Crockett i still believe Central wins by 21+
  12. Region 2 will dominate the 1st round if the pairings stay as they are now. TN High might handle Gibbs relatively easily but the other 3 matchups will all be big wins from Region 2.
  13. This game will be completely different if it is not raining next time around and if Central is not missing any starters. Whether anyone wants to admit it or believe it is up to them. Trust me.
  14. As everyone expected, both appeals were rejected for Central's suspended players. Other players must step up if the Bobcats want to remain undefeated and keep their 21 game win streak alive. Rain tonight will play in favor of South-Doyle as they are basically 1 dimensional and Central is a lot better in the passing game then run game. I expect Central's defense to be the deciding factor as it usually is in big games. 21-14 Bobcats
  15. This is true. 8th graders "committing" to a high school on twitter like it's college.
  16. Valentine is actually a defensive end not a WR. He is the only player currently on Central's roster with D1 offers, so his absence will be missed. Central is pretty deep at receiver so Osborne's absence wont be as detrimental, but he is still a big play threat that the Bobcats could use this Friday. But you can put all these ejections on the refs. Anybody who saw this game will tell you the refs were out of control and did not want to be there. Now 2 high school kids, supposed to be playing for a region championship, and a head coach fighting for a playoff birth in his first year, have to pay for the refs actions.
  17. Cornbread is still reffing?? He should be banned from the TSSAA. His whole crew is awful. The TSSAA needs to do a better job at finding qualified refs. This is the 3rd different message board i've been on that has stated terrible officiating from last week.
  18. This should be a good game. Winner will be district champs and have home field advantage through the playoffs. This is the game most Central fans have been looking forward to all year. The road thus far for the Bobcats has been pretty easy and a true challenge is finally here. Time so see what the Bobcats are truly made of. 2 starters for Central will likely be out. SD is missing starting QB too so no excuses for either team having players out. Central has to prove they can put some points up on a good team. If they can do that then they should be in good shape. The matchup of the night though will be Centrals dominating defense against Elijah Young. One the best Defense's in the state vs one of the best athletes in the state. Last year the Bobcats completely shut him down, but this is a different year with different teams and only one team this year as even slowed Mr Young down. I cant wait to see this showdown Friday Night. I will make a prediction after all the ejection appeals from last week have been finalized.
  19. Meaning you think they will beat South-Doyle or Central on their home field? As i said before, when Crockett faces a team with a decent o-line/d-line and defense (like TN High) they will be exposed.
  20. We both know that they aren't what they were last year after losing John, Micah, Estep, Jr, the big boys up front, and your best all around player Mark. I just wanted to see if you would admit it. Crockett wont be able to stop a team with a good offense and good trenches. May have one of the best "Big 3" combos in the state on that offense, but it wont be enough when that o-line cant protect them and that defense cant get off the field.
  21. I asked if Crockett was as good as they were last year in the trenches and on defense. You replied that the defense is pretty good. So to me that's you saying that you're not as good as you were on those units as last year.
