Definitely was 2012. We lost 13-6 to a Grace team that went to Pitt and got a big win. Then in the playoffs Pitt lost by a point (I think) to Gordonsville. That's why I don't think it's a given that 2012 GB couldn't have played with Gordonsville. Guess we will never know.

Congrats to the 2017 Kees! This team has been winning championships since they were 7 year olds. If Greg had been coaching 2012 they would've at least been playing Gordonsville in the semis.

Ram Fan,I could care less about this argument because it seems like there is always some reason you guys have to defend yourselves. BUT there are two sides to every story and the story coming out of Carter is that several family members and friends talked him out of leaving. Could it be possible that your Coach wants to save face and its easy to say a kid didn't get admitted to the school.

If Coach Ridge leaves the OC would most likely take over at GB.

Use your head. You said east teams play weak teams. GB played Grace to a 6 point game on the road. The same Grace team that easily handled Pitt on the road.

I said it before. You put way too much emphasis on district champs vs runner ups. You have an axe to grind with Quad 1 for whatever reason but don't tell me there is any district in Quad 2 tougher than Greenbacks. Some districts only have 4 or 5 total teams but you don't hear us complaining. Sorry you will have to most likely play Gordonsville second round but you have noone to blame but TSSAA and your own scheduling.

Last year they had 3 district champs in Quad 1. South Pitt got screwed last year and maybe again this year. Some districts are much stronger than others so I would not put a lot of weight on a team finishing first or second in their district depending on the level of competition.

Yea I agree. I'm trying to figure out what thats gonna be like for Tellico every other year when they've gotta drive to 2 of those 3 schools. Its 45 minutes from Tellico to Greenback and at least another hour to get to Grace or AE, esp on a Friday afternoon. Thats a lot to ask from the fans.

Matback, Can't wait for the Alcoa game. E drove by the new field the other day and called me to say it looks like a pro field! I just wish the Blount county jamboree was being held there this year so these boys from Greenback could play on it. Might give us an idea of what to expect later in the year when we go to Grace. I did have a chance to look at Grace's last week when we were there for a basketball tourney. Incredible looking but we could not walk on it. Looking forward to seeing JR play this year at MC and hope to see you on the fence this year with O&B Chemo

Can't speak for the girls side but Tyler Gaskins will be a HUGE step up for boys basketball.

We just have Grace Baptist 2nd scrimmage. Orngnblk-you hit it on the head, coach Ridge will go by the rule.

The official reason was classroom performance. Lots of rumors on who is replacing each but I don't want to spread those.

Both HS basketball coaches are out and the baseball coach also.

orngnblk, I don't know if they are. I know last year they played North Greene and I think they'd try to get in a district closer to East Tn. Looks like they played alot of private schools except for NG and Oakdale.

You must be talking about 2008, the last time we were in that district. We beat Sunbright 42-12, Oakdale 50-6, and Coalfield 42-7. The team went 11-2 and lost both games to an outstanding Oneida team. I don't remember many people referring to last years team as loaded. This years seniors have played together since Pee Wee football and the team might be considered loaded by Greenback standards.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but you may want to check your facts about Greenbacks best chance to beat Grace. We return a large number of starters on both sides of the ball next year. I think you may find next year won't be as easy as you are suggesting. As for the team you guys had this year, they were extremely talented (something most GB fans knew going in). I did not hear the singing but read the same article. My definition of a classless act would be more along the lines of running a double reverse with my 2 best players still in the game, 8 minutes left, leading 28-0.
