  1. Monday, May 8th. Green and Gold game is Tuesday, May 23rd.
  2. All 3 won last night to finish 8-2, so there'll be a 3 way coin flip Monday to decide the 1-3 seeds.
  3. I don't think anybody in Gallatin is necessarily happy about how it's turned out, the kid has loads of potential, and was an asset at times the past two years. He had some stellar moments, but tended to be a distraction as much as anything. Nobody here wanted to have that another year. Best wishes to him at his new school.
  4. Definitely not describing Brinkley, it's Merriweather.
  5. Hopefully he adjusts his attitude, his practice habits, and the effort he puts out when the play doesn't center around him, or those at Bearden will be scratching their heads as well about all these offers.
  6. The offers are still rolling in, at least according to his Twitter. They must all know something more than I've seen.
  7. Welcome home Wes, Green Wave Nation is excited to have you back with us!
  8. Green Wave Nation welcomes Coach Stroup and his family. The excitement is real as we look forward to meeting and having each of you here!
  9. The world will know tomorrow morning.
  10. Thanks Mondo, I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with JP as he was growing up, watching him play baseball with my nephew. I, along with several others, thought he would go that route in college, but he obviously made football his choice, and look where he is today! You will not find a better, more humble young man than Ponchez. He has made Green Wave Nation proud!
  11. The only role the QB Club had 4 years ago was being asked to submit questions they felt were important to be asked in the interviews. That was asked of them again this week, and some really good ones have been submitted. Any further role, if any, is still unknown at this time, although more light might be shed come Monday morning.
  12. Other than Joslin this entire post is bogus. Lassiter retired after 14 years at Gallatin, how is that running him off? Brent Alexander was offered a position during Lassiter's tenure and declined it. Dewayne Alexander is a Hendersonville graduate. Dewayne's son's father-in-law is an assistant at Beech, so that would explain his move there. Lassiter's pick to succeed him was not Brent, his recommendation was actually who got the job.
  13. I cannot attest to how many Beech teachers went there, but even if it was just 1 that's 1 more than made the move from Gallatin.
  14. You obviously realize it's not quite that easy just to move a game from one week to another, in this case that would've affected Springfield as well. As I said, Gallatin's top priority was to schedule Station Camp and Hendersonville, and knowing weeks 1 and 2 for a certainty would be non region, that's where they went. These were set in stone a good while before the new regions ever came out. Station Camp because it's a city rival, and Hendersonville because they're Gallatin's longest running rival, they've played every year since 1964. There are two gaps with Beech since they started in 1981, one of 4 years and the other of 2. I'm sure everybody will say those gaps are Gallatin's fault as well. Anyway, it's not worth going back and forth on, Gallatin, Station Camp and Springfield all have their schedules set, I'm sorry Beech does not, at least according to the TSSAA website they don't. So we move on, good luck to the Buccaneers Saturday night.
  15. Thanks good friend. Some of this stuff is just crazy. One thing I didn't address in my previous posts: for the record, zero GHS teachers left to go to Liberty Creek. That's a fact.
  16. Majority of the school board is old Gallatin people, that's hilarious. It feels like a metro school with all the crap that goes on there? Don't get me wrong, Gallatin High School has it's fair share of issues, but to suggest it's more than at other places around is flat wrong. My wife teaches there, she's in the halls, she'll tell you right off that inference is incorrect. I'm around the school a good bit myself, it's a great school, extremely clean and neat, with admin and staff that are like a family, that love the kids and each other.
  17. Not sure if the guy is talking about committee help or financial help here, but the QB Club did play a small role in the hiring process 4 years ago, they were allowed to submit questions they felt important for the interviews. I'm anticipating a bigger QB Club role this time around. As far as financially, they've never approached the school about giving coaching stipends and incentives, but I'm also thinking that might change very soon.
  18. I would add Adam Caine at Upperman on the list, and also Nathan Wilson at Beech.
  19. The coaching search will begin immediately, although I don't think there'll be a super big rush to get someone quickly. There doesn't need to be. There's already been a number of names tossed around. It will definitely be interesting to see how it plays out.
  20. I suspected this was coming as the clock wound down in Clarksville in week 11. Maybe earlier than that. Coach Watson and his whole family are just super people, I've loved them from day 1 back when the announcement was made in December of 2018. I'm thankful to call them friends. I'm also thankful for the positives he brought to Gallatin. He did some really good things. Unfortunately the nature of the beast when coaching at most high school programs that have had any kind of success, if you don't win you don't stay. That's just how it works. We want to wish him and his family the very best at where he lands.
  21. We can certainly agree to disagree, and thanks for the nine months ahead of the season insight on Gallatin 2023.
