  1. I found a database online and just scanned through it looking for names I knew . The only freestyle juniors to AA at fargo that I saw were Keller x2, Kyle james, Croy , Robinson and Blake Thomas. I also found it interesting that these were all at lower weights or upper weights. To my knowledge Tn has never had a AA in any of the middle weights. I dont know about any of the older wrestlers like Mctorry, Vance, Norfleet, etc..
  2. Here is a trivia question , maybe ghouse knows. What Tn wrestlers have been AA's at Fargo? Especially in freestyle and juniors as that seams to be the toughest.
  3. Wow, thats quite a night of wrestling right there!
  4. Pretty much all national tournaments charge for a coaches pass. I think it's mostly because unlike local tournaments where a coach brings his whole team in national tournaments its a coach/ dad bringing his own kid. Medals and awards are usually nicer, the refs are you usually brought in from outside the area and put in hotels , there is usually a large venue rental fee. There are a lot if things that go into it. Don't count on much of a hospitality room though.
  5. Why is there any resistance to doing what's best for the sport? Seeding, the event location , awards and medals, showcasing and boosting the excitement of the finals etc.. all could use improvement. There have been many suggestions and ideas but nothing ever changes. It's because the same people have been doing it forever and are not open to the idea of improvement. It's about how much money you can make in as little time as possible with as little work as possible. If the powers that be would attend one Georgia state championship they would see how bad our state is lacking.
  6. He didn't start the thread. Actually somebody attacked him personally and he responded. I would expect someone to react after getting blasted on a public forum and especially when they didn't know what they were talking about.
  7. I think it was already pointed out the kid didn't weigh 50 lbs. That's the lightest weight class in his age group but that doesn't mean he weighs that
  8. It's still the Nashville region. I'm sure the chattanooga region was full of Cleveland and Bradley kids
  9. There is a thread on here about the middle school. Nashville beat Chatt in a barn burner from the sounds of it.
  10. Looks like Chattanoogas little guys were quite impressive. 11. His idea of leveling the playing field is to eliminate some of the best kids? Wow!!! I thought the idea was to improve the other areas . What a joke
  12. Yeah, it might help to weigh in first.
  13. Lets see... The thread is titled aau middle school state. If you aren't interested don't read it. Many of the coaches like to see how the feeder programs are doing The refs are the same for both, many parents have kids doing both. I personally like all my wrestling info in one place. If I'm not interested I simply don't read it.
  14. More state champions? Really? Placers I would agree with but definitely not more champions. Not trying to make this a personal attack at all so I won't get into individual match ups. Lets just say most people would disagree with your assesment no matter how cute and funny you try to make it.
  15. That's funny. Wasn't your beloved Notre Dame in d2 and opted to get out? Answer this honestly. How would your state champs and placers done in d2?
  16. That means the studs in the mans division arent quite as good as the studs in d2 I guess. I would be willing to bet none of the d2 champs and runner ups would get beat in the second round of the di tournament.
  17. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule in both divisions. As a generalized statement I would say d1 s 6th placers would beat d2s more times than not . I'll do a little research and see what I come up with for this years crop of kids from 3-6
  18. Well that would vary from weight to weight. Considering d2 is generally tougher kids I would say d2. Now if you are saying which kids wrestle more people then it would be d1. Don't confuse more with tougher because its not the same. Most weights the studs aren't challenged until the semis and that goes for both divisions.
  19. Well the 6th place finishers didn't get the top of the podium so your point is moot
  20. Good catch at 220 . I didn't watch it all that closely except for a few weights. I was busy hiking back and forth so I could watch both divisions.
  21. I was told Dendy left Baylor? I think they said he was a McCallie?
