Capping enrollment will be tough in a public school. We'll see how it all plays out, but I see a very dominating Blount County team in 2A. Do you think that's the way the school board drew it up? Gold Balls in 2A, 3A and 6A?

It's a GCA, but public (and open enrollment), in a big county.... You 2A guys are screwed, just like when we were in your pond.

I agree with your recruiting comment. Do you know what year the QB and 55 are? They could probably help the silver and maroon or the red and black, immediately.

Eagleton is going to be a contender in a couple of years in 2A. I remember when we started our HS program, and it didn't look anything like that....WOW!

1st Half Thoughts (even if you rednecks don't want to read it) 1. Zae Racks (or whatever its name is) I would eat breakfast, Lunch and Catfish Dinner on Friday night there 2. One drug store has much better looking employees than the other 3. El Ray's Chicken Nachos almost had me heading to Monterey at halftime 4. Eagleton has 4 players that could play Varsity in 2A 5. Oneida is struggling with a JV 2A team 6. It will be nice to get a W but being 2-1 vs that schedule shouldn't get their egos up. Long road ahead and much improvement needed. Its a long season, and this is the 3rd game I've watched (parts of). I see improvement, Crow.

34-14 in the 4th. I think Grace and Oneida could play to a 0-0 tie that would need to be called after 3 days....

Game went just like I expected it to. Grace will struggle all year, especially against physical teams.

Crow, you boys are way down. I think I'm just verifying what you already know. I'm turning it off and going to another game. Here's my viewpoint (whether the Orange like it or not): You've got too many kids that are more concerned with the way they're dressed than playing football Oneida has at least 4 kids with "turf tape" on their arms and they're playing on GRASS!!!! Holy cow! Oneida must be very low on talent to start so many freshmen. #2 shouldn't be playing on a MS game. Anybody that wants to chirp, watch the film. Coalfield looks like world beaters against a historically good 2A Team Oneida doesn't want to hit anybody. They just want to put that Orange and White on and all their extra Nike or Adidas gear on and run out on the field on Friday nights. That only looks good when you run out for the 1st game of the season... I hope you guys get back to where you belong, but this is a terrible edition of Oneida Football.

I would agree with you on TKA. They only have approx 12 players that play. I think they will have a tough time this year, especially fielding such a small team.

Grace has a decent QB with good RB's and a couple good WR's. They will throw it 15-20 times a game or so. A lot different than the last 2 teams that played you guys that threw it 40 times a game. Grace struggled against an inferior TKA team last week. Not sure if that was due to overlooking them, which I highly doubt. It was the 1st game of the season, they should've been ready to go. So that tells me that there are things that need a lot of attention. I do know one thing about the Alvin C Yorkers. Grace better be ready to get hit in the mouth by a bunch of tough country kids, bc they will lay the wood every snap. Tell us what you guys have. *edit due to a 15 yard penalty for excessive run on sentences....

Ensworth by as many as they want. Ensworth wins big in this one. A lot of talk about chewing up the clock, but that would mean you have to move the ball against a DL that looks like a college DL. UC has a ton of history and a storied program. Best of luck to both teams this season.

I still drop in to check on my redneck buddies from time to time As far as the radio show goes, that would definitely be a short lived program!!! All these guys on here now wouldn't be able to handle the fire that was thrown out years ago. You said he worked at Grace and was on the runner-up Staff with OR. I didn't see a name on that OR Staff that was at Grace.

This is one of those “We’re on a Board” type of power plays that happens all over the country. I don’t know who was on the “committee” and I don’t care. I believe all of your smoke signals that were thrown up during the initial hire (which probably would have been great but his family wouldn’t move) irritated some of those high and mighty pressed shirts and they said “We’ll show them who’s boss” on this one (if the Coconut Telegraph on CoachT is true). Sometimes those folks need to have a measuring contest and when they’re behind closed doors, theirs is always longer. No rulers needed.

Hate is too strong of a word for HS Football....And they didn't beat us by 40, but it was a beat down. My point was why would Goodpasture play LA after the way they've been beaten the past 4/5 years if they don't have to. Better question, why would LA want to play a cupcake and a guaranteed running clock game? Big Boy Talk, LOL!

It wasn't played in 2021 because they bowed out. LA beat Goodpasture 188-34 in their last 4 meetings. I wouldn't play LA now that they don't have to for Region play. Pretty easy decision by the Pastor's, in my opinion.

Pure speculation, on my part. But, my guess is it’s coming. Others have speculated the same.

And will get smacked around for the next 2 years. Dilfer did all of this to that school. From the way he acted, the way he treated other TN HS programs, his absurd ego and now moving them up to DII-AAA and heading out the door leaving them high and dry. The ones that will be hurt the most by all of this will be the LA lifers that will stay and play. All those 3 and 4 stars flying out the back door will suffer none of the consequences that are coming the next 2 years.
