  1. I think if District 4 sweeps the region quarters then WB would host. As long as district 3 has a team in it after Saturday then Karns will host semis and finals.
  2. What do we think about the actual TSSAA ruling? Did they apply the rules the same as the did against my Ads last postseason? This other discussion is pointless IMO to have because we do not actually know what was said. All we can go on is the video evidence and the text from TSSAA. Kids lose their tempers regardless of what words are used all the time, AND fans obviously are not setting a very good example of sportsmanship for their players in that district overall. I think we can all agree on those two points.
  3. How did the Rebels fare against Bearden last night? My ads took care of Hardin Valley!
  4. What happened vs my Ads the other night? 20-0 run? Wow. Cannot believe the golden boy coach and his daddy allowed that to happen
  5. As long as kids get a transfer approved or they move zones it is all perfectly legal and they can play right away, except when a private school is involved. Wish more kids would come over to the far west by Turkey Creek! Don't hate the player, hate the game guys. Don't be jealous when kids want to go play for a particular program/head coach. Could not agree more!
  6. Hard to see Bearden staying on top this year. Every team has more size than them. Farragut beat them twice last year, Dallas Carbaugh is a problem, and we have some other youngins back that are ready to step up. Do not sleep on the Ads this year!
  7. You are way off on this one. My sons are out of college
  8. Right now these look like the favorites: Region 1: Morristown East DB Region 2: Farragut Oak Ridge
  9. I did not ask the AD, I asked you. I understand the KCS limitations and the lack of faith in the Bearden admin, but you seem knowledgeable about this so I want to hear your top candidates.
  10. Who would be the top candidates on your list?
  11. Baseball I could understand one saying it is more an individual sport, but not basketball or soccer or volleyball.
  12. 68 vs 78 days does not seem like a big deal to me. I figure coaching staff and scheme can make up for a couple weeks in the weight room, but maybe I am wrong
  13. Hopefully they are waiting till after the state championships are over to get someone who knows how to win. The previous staff definitely did not make it seem like a job someone would want so I agree with you there
  14. If they start working out in January, that gives them 7 months before August. Is that not enough time? I am not from Knox County so you all will have to help me out. Basketball is definitely not an individual sport btw.
  15. My bad, I did not know that a couple weeks in the weight room would make or break a season. I figured taking time to hire the right head coach would be more important.
  16. Like I said, most all of them are working out already. What else can they do?
  17. I would hate for high school kids to get an extra few weeks off. Most football players are still working out in a PE class. What else could they be doing?
  18. My bad. Since their most recent hire was a senior citizen, I thought that they might hire one of their own that they love so much. Maybe they do the opposite this time and will pull a Catholic and hire Tee Higgins
  19. If he is so great then why did Oak Ridge not hire him? Why would he take a big pay cut to come to Knox Co.?
  20. You need new sources if you think that is still the case
  21. HVA is getting a coal miner for a coach? Interesting
  22. What does this season look like for Region 2 AAAA? District 3- Oak Ridge, Powell, Campbell Co, West, Central, Karns District 4- Bearden, Farragut, Maryville, Hardin Valley, William Blount, Heritage West moves over to District 3 who lost Halls, Anderson Co, and Clinton District 4 loses West and Lenoir City What would your rankings be for each league? 3- Oak Ridge: seems like nobody has beaten them in years Powell: Surely they can put something together this year Karns: Usually can score, but can they guard this year? West: Could be a sleeper. Was not impressed with their coaching last season Campbell Co: Did well last year but choked in the tournament Central: Not much talent this year I do not think 4- Bearden: strong senior class Farragut: this could be their year to make some noise Maryville: down this year, but well-coached and can shoot it Hardin Valley: not sure what they will be, but should have more talent than the Blount Co. teams William Blount: scrappy and can shoot the ball Heritage: new coach, same result most likely
  23. It seems odd that a current or former assistant did not get the job, and then let Smith learn the coaching profession as an assistant before taking over. I disagree about Duke. They did not handle the same way. Scheyer has been on staff since 2014. For Duke and Catholic to be the same in this situation would be like Duke hiring Grayson Allen as head coach for next season.
  24. Being a Catholic alum or a good student does not factor into being a good head coach. There is much more to it than x's and o's as well. Many smart men and great players have not done well as a coach. Like I said before, he could be an amazing hire, but I am skeptical at this point. He has not put in any time as an assistant or had time to learn the profession. With the amount of talent he will have on the roster, there will be high expectations for sure.
