I have been able to watch them at least twice every year for the last 25 years, and I completely disagree with your comments. Furthermore, about 95% of those boys I see play at Bearden were the same kids I saw play in middle school for West Valley. If anything there have been fewer recruits playing over there since Blevins left.

Basketball and soccer have been so successful that they recruit themselves. Just like my admirals baseball team and Maryville/Alcoa football

Most high school programs have 25-35 kids... Did you know that Fulton's 3 best players are out of zone? As long as kids transfer coming out of 8th grade OR move into the new school's zone it is all good. This transfer stuff has always been around. Find it funny that all of a sudden people are upset about Bearden football cause they finally are relevant. Was there all of this outrage when Jones was at Fulton or Powell?

You are a moron. Post Blevins they have 5 state tournaments in 7 seasons..., won the Arby's, won a gold ball, and a silver ball Meanwhile my Admirals can't even make 1 state tournament cause we get in fights. Seems like they can coach over at Bearden.

7 on 7 is trash. It is basically flag football and only came about to try to keep football kids from playing basketball or other sports in the offseason. It is even worse than AAU basketball, which is awful unless you are in the top 20%. You cannot seriously be talking about 7 on 7 right now. Come on guys

Hard to tell for Bearden without football players. WB has their 2 studs back but not sure what they have around them. HVA will be "twice as good" according to their coach. I think Maryville has to be the favorite right now after they beat Sevier Co. I would probably pick Bearden 2nd just slightly above the rest. My Farragut Ads play really hard, and West has the talent to make a run as well. There will be no off days and should not have many blowouts in District 4. The 1-2 seeds for the District tournament will come hard earned for sure.

East TN 4A will be Oak Ridge and Sevier County if I had to put money on it. Maryville is only other team that I think could beat those two since they won vs Sevier last night. DB and Sevier Co leagues are very weak. Region 2: Oak Ridge has a cakewalk in District 3 and then District 4 is brutally tough, but any of those teams could defeat a Region 1 Sectional opponent. Still would not pick against OR and SC right now in a tournament setting.

Not sure, but I do know they were young last year. That's why I think they will be one of the best again. If Boo does not play basketball then idk what all Bradley has back. WV may be better

Maryville used to allow lots of transfers because kids wanted to go there, but now the admin is shutting that door and you can see this is the worst team there in 25 years. You can't blame kids for wanting to go play for a program or a coach that they like. Happens everywhere. Seems like people are scared of Bearden being good at football because they have always been mediocre

How are the kids out of middle school transferring to Bearden for high school cheating? How is that different than the kids at Fulton that were zoned AE or the kids at Bradley that transferred in or the ones at Alcoa that used to go to Carter or any other transfers? Would be great to hear proof of this cheating at Bearden and how Jones is a "renegade cheat". I know that kids move and transfer all the time to many schools. You sound like a disgruntled former staff member of the Bulldog football team. Did that WB receiver "move" to Farragut last year? Idk for sure and I wouldn't call Courtney a cheater because a kid wants to come play for his program. And I hate Bearden, but have heard of no proof behind all of the CoachT Trolls on here bashing he and the program. If kids get a transfer approved out of middle school for their 9th grade year or a kid moves to play for a different program, then that is allowed. Always has been.

They may have some talent, but that does not always translate into wins. They had the same talent last year and did nothing with it. Do you trust the coaching staff at West? I know I have not been impressed with what West has done since they got a new coach a few years ago. It will be a dogfight every night in District 4 though. West has to deal with my Ads, Bearden, William Blount, Hardin Valley, and Maryville. Any one of those teams could win the league. Oak Ridge will continue their domination in District 3 with no challengers in sight, especially since the kid from Greenback "moved" there. Is McCullum back at Harriman? He may be good enough in A to get them to state

4A- Sevier County, Oak Ridge, Walker Valley, Bradley Central 3A- Fulton and Greeneville 2A- Alcoa, Austin-East, and Gatlinburg-Pittman 1A- ? Thoughts?

I will believe all of the "offers" that kids get when they sign a letter of intent. There are far too many fake offers out there. Some are legitimate, some are paid for, some are flat out lies. Anyone out there can claim to have an offer from somewhere but there is no proof, and they are not called out when they are fake. People just blindly believe it. In addition, some colleges "offer" kids but some of those the kids will never be allowed to actually sign with that school. They "offer" them in hopes that the kid will end up being a big time recruit and then they can say that their school was recruiting the kid from the beginning. These "offers" have gotten out of hand and so has the gullibility of fans

Bearden's starting rb was out, and he is a power 5 signee. No excuses about injuries from my Ads. I definitely was disappointed our coach was on the field to get that penalty and that our offense was so anemic. I definitely thought we would be able to throw the ball better. You would think we would have been able to stop the dogs a little more considering they ran the same 2 plays most of the game. Both teams have a lot of work to do if they want some region wins the rest of the season

It is definitely watered down. There are several 4 team districts, which means there are teams in the Region Tournament (Round of 64), that in theory would not have to win a single game to get there. Making the Region Tournament in the past used to mean something. Urban and Rural would not work in TN, but going back to 3 classes would definitely be the way to go. Another idea to shake things up would be to mix up the sectional pairings somehow and/or have a satellite location for the substate games.
