  1. Yo, Yo, Yooooo!....What up "homie", OR632003? How's that ETSU education treating you, oh fine one from "Straight Outta Oak Ridge Tennekey" You need to quit drinking that "hate-o-rade" because your Mildcats couldn't run up the score like the ol' ball coach wanted (awwww...let's blame the refs.... ;( whaaaaa). You need to "raise the roof" about your boys on another thread besides one labeled Karns-Jeff. Co. BTW: Jefferson County Football Patriots 28 Karns High 14 Best of luck to both teams and let's have a clean, well-played ballgame! Hope to see all of the Patriot fans out for Homecoming Friday night, under the lights, in Dumplin Valley (Dandridge, TN)!!!
  2. I think that OR is just mad because they couldn't run the score up on JC like they wanted to...oh well, the refs weren't the ones to blame for the constant flags...OR has a ton of talent, but their technique/discipline was awful at times last night...that's the reason for the yellow flag fest against the Wildcats last night
  3. I'm going to pull a Lee Corso and just say, "Closer than the experts think."
  4. I'll take Coach Hammonds and the GP Highlanders
  5. Jeff. Co will extend that winning streak to 2 games come friday night in Dumplin Valley...The Pats went down to Campbell town and came back with a 20-0 shutout...The other Morristown team can't compete with the mighty Patriots or with the redhawk up in the press box...Patriot receivers catch 2 TDs friday, with the final score being 24-7
  6. Well, I was a little off on my prediction, but I won't argue a 20-0 victory for the Jefferson County Patriots!!! Shock'ed em boys!
  7. Jeff County with the W! 24-17 We'll shock'em all!
  8. I was front-rowin' it at the '03 game. "Tito" (also "Downtown" and "T-Money") was one of the many names/chants given to T. Brown. I remember cheering for him and Jennings (our "Jeff's going to Vandy" chant) both before, during, and after the game. I and many others did not know the story of the deceased MW student, so our chant was not directed toward him. We were dumbfounded the next week in school when West accused us of this. There would never of been an indecent chant directed toward the deceased student, because I and the rest of the Jungle wouldn't of let it. I understand certain people's attack upon certain individuals on here for their past idiotic behavior at times, but during the Jungle's "Tito" chant, it was for appreciation of Tyler Brown, and Tyler Brown only. Sorry about bringing up the past, but I don't want to be falsely accused of such an indecent act. That said, I say good luck to both teams Friday night, and hope we have a good, clean game.
  9. yeah, i have heard people gushing about the defense too...that new D coordinator must be doing something right
  10. Sounds good in theory, but it'll never work...it's fair to say that a majority of the fans want their teams to win as many games as possible...nowadays, kids aren't motivated to do what it takes to improve in the off-season to reach that goal (that's why "voluntary" off-season workouts exists)...without making the kids work, then they sacrifice the ability to compete with other programs who demand their athletes improvements (hence, off-season workouts)...a player's development is in the off-season...that's what the coaches have to work with when the athletes report to their teams to begin the official season...their are two options, which usually have two consequences: off-season workouts (=better record) or no off-season workout (=worse record)...this is a problem that plagues every program, so putting the spotlight on one program (which lately has been JC) is unfair...also, wouldn't you rather have a coach who pushes the athletes to make themselves and the team better? Isn't that why we play, "for the love of the game?"...then "the love of the game" constitutes giving your all for yourself and your team...if a select few decide they can't handle those responsibilities and choose to quit, then tough for them...those who "truly love the game" are the kids we'll be cheering for on friday nights
  11. Speaking of pumpup speeches, Coach Fulmer must have given UT one this morning. I would of never expected the Vols to beat a good Texas A&M team that soundly. On with the Lady Patriots: I've always enjoyed the Greene County tournament, especially this year. Many of the better teams in TN were there, so we got to see how good they/we are. It better shows our strengths/weaknesses. Going 3-1 against very good competition shows we can compete with anybody. However, I do not believe we are even close to our maximum potential, so hopefully we can work hard during conference play to improve overall. It looks like another fine year for Lady Patriots basketball.
  12. 1. Mount Juliet (no doubt) 2a) From the teams I have seen this year who are currently consensus in many people's polls (teams in East TN mostly), I believe that Powell, Greeneville, and Jefferson County are interchangeable at this level. 2b) Heritage and Wilson Central Not saying that this will not change during the season. I know Mount Juliet is the best. The second level consists of Greeneville, Jeff. County, and Powell, in no particular order. Currently, I believe each team has the best personnel and capability to beat the other two. Heritage and Wilson Central are a slight level below, based on their performances in the Greene County tourney. Heritage got beat by Greeneville and Jeff Co., while WC got beat by Jefferson County and Powell. However, it's not to say that neither of the teams above can't beat another mentioned team. If one team gets hot while another gets cold, anything can happen. There are incredible players on each team, and whichever team is playing the best team ball, that team will win.
  13. Pat Head Summitt should of had two future UT players in the Greene County tournament (should-be UT bound Clark and already UT committed Cait.) Coach Summitt has had players from local schools, with Shelbyville's Fuller, Sevier County's Edwards, Bradley Central's Jackson, and Tennessee High's McDaniel. Unlike the men's basketball program, when Buzz Peterson failed to have Maryville's Lee Humphrey wearing UT orange and white (who instead wears Gator orange and blue.) However, it is hard to believe that UT (and Vanderbilt, Kentucky {with Demoss as coach}, or any other school in the SEC) overlooked Clark. I know about UT's "Super Six" freshmen and how excited people from around here are, but who wouldn't want a talented, hard-working, class act like Clark as a member of the Lady Vols?
  14. Wilson Central is a very good team, just like Mount Juliet, Powell, Greeneville, Heritage, and Jefferson County. I understand your points but saying Jefferson County can't play with these "elite" teams is an unfair assessment. BTW: Jefferson County defeated Heritage by 10 today while holding Cait to 7 points. Point #2: You and I agree: Mount Juliet is the best team right now, period. And how can Clark not be going to a major D1 school? She was clearly the MVP of the tournament. I have seen other star players in the tournament (like former UT player McDaniel, from TN High) and I believe that Clark is a better prospect than any I have seen in awhile.
