  1. The Blue Devils seem to be playing their best ball at the right time of the year. Very impressive tournament wins so far. This is an exciting match up with Cheatham Co. in the finals, but I think that even if they can get the Cubs into playing their up tempo game it still gonna come down to experience. The Cubs are very experienced and the Blue Devils play 3 freshmen. Significant minutes at that. Douglas will be too much and lead the Cubs to another title.
  2. I thought the game was easily called in the Blue Devil's favor, but the ref's did let 'em play a little. The Devils had a very porous defense and gave up way to many easy inside baskets. Their press was ineffective. I gotta give the Patriots credit, they were prepared and ready for this game. Since the Devils had no one to match up with the Heritage bigs, they had to rely on the 3 pointer to stay in the game. That's leaning on freshmen a little bit hard IMO. Especially in a cross town rivalry atmosphere. Great game though indeed.
  3. you must be talking about VIP corner. Admin,. football coaches, etc. hang out there.
  4. WH Heritage vs. White House tonight at WH. Not much significance to the District standings here, but the Devils can absolutely claim "city" champs with a victory on their home floor over the Patriots. P.S. I do not have any children playing in h.s., so I try to tell it like I see it without any bias. LOL
  5. Yeah, Heritage had a pretty good team in 2012-2013. If Tyler Cunningham didn't get hurt in the Regional semi-finals, the Patriots would have been State-bound. Ryan Sizemore had just transferred there and had 19 points in the second half after Tyler's injury and put them into the Regional finals. Heritage did not do as well as expected the following year when they moved out of single A. That was the year that Cheatham was exceptionally good. I see a bright picture in the immediate near future for White House. I have heard that the other hot shot freshman (he transferred to Station Camp following his 8th grade year) is transferring back to the Blue Devils. I could be wrong, but thats what I heard. Also, I expect Tyler Welch to take over as head coach next year and he will step out of the shadows and into the light. With the Heritage program still struggling to find themselves, I would expect WH to win tonight. It should be a barn burner though and I will be enjoying it. Hope nobody gets hurt and that no fights break out. Healthy respect for one another is the best way to go.
  6. if it weren't for a significant transfer in 2013, it proly would be Heritage 1, WH 5
  7. I admire your optimism Newblue, however, I'm sure that you would agree that if Heritage were currently playing up to their potential and hype, they would have beat Greenbrier by 15+. No excuse for losing that game at HOME. The Patriots come out flat and let Greenbrier get some momemtum in the very beginning and that carried throughout the game. If they were HUNGRY, they would have come out and jumped on them like mad dogs. Yeah the ref's were trying to shine the light on them but you cant blame that for failing to gain rebounding position and boxing out. Meat and potatos was waiting to be served down there but the Bobcats were wearing them out on the boards. Where's the calming influence on the court? Who will take them on their back, say follow me, and demand the same effort from his running mates? That, my friend, is what Douglas does for the Cubs. Anyone can blame the coaches, but IMO the players have to look in the mirror and realize that only they can change the results. They may get it together in time for the tournament, but its not looking bright when players keep dropping off the roster.
  8. I watched Heritage lay a big ole stinky dud last night against Greenbrier. Congrats to the Bobcats who hung in there the entire game. While the Patriots appeared uninspired and indifferent, the Cats were hungry. Patriots have the athletes but not the desire. No leadership on the court, lackadasical effort, and ineptitude against a team they should have beat by 15. I believe its too late for them to get it going. Perhaps many of them look at basketball as a secondary sport to them and are just going thru the motions. IDK, but my preseason predictions were way off base. now is when a players only meeting is needed but no one has stepped up as leaders on this team.
  9. What's the deal with White House being involved in a couple of fights? Has anyone been ejected and have to miss ball games? I heard that an opposing coach even put his hands on one of the Blue Devil players the other night and all heck broke loose. Even a parent coming out of the stands. What's up with that?
  10. i agree with you B52 about Douglas's ability to play in college, just not in the upper divisions. NAIA, Juco, and D-3 would be a fit for him. That's not knocking him in any way. It's a tremendous achievement for any of them to play after high school. The talent gap narrows and you cant get by on physically dominating inferior athletes. Other than the tech he got, i thought he played great.
  11. I got to see the White House/Cheatco. game last night. Thought the Devils would put a better fight than they did. Cheatham had their way with them. The high pace of the game played into Cheatham's hands I thought. Douglas was as advertised and more. Scored from 3 land and everywhere in between. I believe he had 40 pts. against the Blue Devils. It will be interesting to see who gets the MVP between him and Brown. Probably whomever's team does best. Box and 1 might work on Douglas, but he's gonna get 20+ a game. If you can hold him to 20 or below, you have a chance. I wonder how many he had in their loss aganist Westmoreland.
  12. okay ksgovols, Let me clarify, either cheatham or white house will win the title. either way heritage will come in second.and one of those two will come in third. Petrone has implemented a new fast paced, high octane, run and gun pressing offense that will suffocate most teams. It has high risks but high rewards as well.................................. Only when Portland and White House combine high schools! haha. Gotcha didn't I? It'll be the same ole' Petrone system but he just might have the players to make it work this year. gonna have height and good defense. that's a good mix to have. At any rate, the WH/Heritage game will be a great atmosphere to watch a game at. Full gym for sure. Go Patriots!
  13. My predicted reg. season order of finish: 1. Cheatham Co. 2. White House....................Heritage 3. White House 4. Harpeth 5. Sycamore 6. Westmoreland 7. Greenbrier
  14. Are you kidding me? Douglas at Belmont? How tall is he? 6'2 or 3 maybe. That won't cut it at forward in D-1 and he's definitely not a guard.
  15. 28-13 Heritage advances. Boy, was I close. Go Patriots!
  16. haha. Thought that might rile ya'll up a little. I actually like Camden and love going hunting and fishing there myself. So tell me, are the football games there as well attended as the blind drawing? I'll stand by my prediction though. Don't think it will be as bad as what the Mustangs did.
  17. Whew, this will be a long ride for the Patriots, but they ain't scared of the river. Gonna show them Camden duck hunter boys how to play h.s. football. Heritage 31, Camden 16.
  18. Heritage will win this one and advance. Final score 28-13. Heritage can hurt you either way, running or passing, so Sycamore will have their hands full. Heritage has too many weapons. Of course, i am more familiar with the Patriots.
  19. Was out of town and missed the game. Heritage rolled over the Bobcats at their homecoming. Are the Patriots on track to make the playoffs? I think so. Go PAtriots!
  20. Macon Co. will win this one by 14. WH has too many players out to be competitive in this one.
  21. Interesting game right here. Seems to be a pretty evenly matched game on tap Any predictions? I think that the Patriots are better at the skill positions and will come out on top 31-13. Too much speed for the Bobcats.
  22. idk what the injury situation is with Springfield, but I know that the Blue Devils have several key starters that are injured. Playing at home may be worth 3 points for the Devils, but they will need alot more to beat the Jackets. The Devils should lose this one, go to 2-3, and begin seeing a return trip to the playoffs fade. This could be only the 3rd time (I think) that the Devils have not made the playoffs under the helm of Jeff Porter .
  23. Yeah, and Greenbrier beat WH but got spanked by Portland. Let's not forget Mo-town either. One thing for sure....Goodpasture sucks.
  24. heritage needs a win badly if they want to make the playoffs. Schedule has been brutal, but it is what it is. Defending 9-AA champs must play like it tonight.
