CoachT has S. Pitt at #2 on the Strength + Success Rankings. I guess some of you all just don't get it that the Pirates are for real this year.

I guess time will show if we can. Some of you all think we'll be a pushover -- but Antonio and the boys will take care of business.

From what I know of both these teams I would say that Grace would not beat BC. I would agree with Newsome -- Bradley would beat Grace by 20.

I'm going to say that South Pitt will do well in 1a this year. I think we will have a better year than we did last year. It would be nice to go to state. I guess time will tell.

I'm going to go with Central in this one by 6.

I would probably agree with you that Josh Smith (#44) from Temple is one of the best players in 1a, but he's only a junior. Robinson of SP is a senior and should be given some credit. He's a better player than people think. He doesn't have the numbers like many of the others who didn't get chosen for the award -- but we don't go to him all the time. We have more weapons than most teams have and so Antonio may not appear to be as good as some others but he is. He may not win the title of mr. football but you have to give him some respect for being a finalist.

I didn't see Smith play but a couple of times but when he played us at SP -- he impressed me as being their best player. So to say that it's stretching it to consider him for all-state is beyond me. You must be thinking of somebody else.

I believe you have a valid point. I was kind of surprised myself that Antonio beat out Skogen in 1A. The last stats I saw was that Skogen of Temple had like 2,000 yards receiving with like 22 TD's and Robinson (SP) had something like 1,000 yards and 15 TD's. I really don't understand how they pick in these things. From my understanding half the ones who vote have never even seen many of the players they pick. So you're right it is kind of bogus. I really thought Smithson from Temple would have been picked as well over Antonio.

I thought the article was very well written and in good taste. If more people would speak up when things like that happen -- maybe others would learn a valuable lesson about sportsmanship and character on and off the field.

I know Trousdale is favored to beat Temple in a romp but I think this one will be closer and better than everyone is expecting it to be. When Temple played us at South Pitt. they showed some really good talent. Their main downfall is on defense and the fact that they don't have many players. But I still think they'll give TC all they want. Who are you trying to kid?? The Pirates ought to be a real contender in district and region. Robinson will turn it on this season and make a huge difference. We should definitely make some noise this year.
