  1. Are there any new rules or changes for this year? any "pet-peeves" that will be focused upon?
  2. according to http://www.tnbaseballreport.com/ Next HS Poll will be out May 19/ Pre State Tourney Poll
  3. you are correct. i do post what the rules are just to make sure that everyone knows what the official rules are. I could actually care less if CPA cheats. As i have said before, I am no fan of CPA or any team east of Jackson and for the fact very few outside of Shelby County. I have never been to the CPA campus, I have never seen the boys team play and have only seen the girls team play 3 games in a tournament in Hickman County a few years ago. And as you have said before, you were not present during the initial contact between the player and Maddux as well as 99.99999% of the other posters. So you dont really know the truth. why not just hire a private investigator to follow the "coach of your choice" and get some real proof instead of just throwing junk against the wall.
  4. Off-season begins when the team is eliminated from tournament play and goes until the end of school year. Off-season can only be max of 5 practices in a 10 consecutive school day period. The Dead period is two weeks, the week of July 4th and the preceding week. (June 21 - July 4). here is link to the Basketball calendar by TSSAA for year 2014-2015. The definitions of practice, off-season, pre-season, summer, and a few other key phrases are on the same page. http://tssaa.org/wp-content/uploads/SportsCalendar/2014BkCalendar.pdf
  5. Just because open enrollment / transfer take place, TSSAA still has to grant the player eligibility to play at the new school. Is TSSAA diligent on fact checking for the transfers? They did a pretty good job on Jarnell Stokes a few years ago and Skal last year.
  6. I am asking because I dont know. What year of school did Bradshaw transfer to CPA? As freshman, sophomore?? just curious.
  7. have your school offer the parent a job...
  8. actually tuition to high school is NOT tax deductible. I ask my tax guy each year. Or do i need a new tax guy??
  9. AL is a bad choice for your agruement. They have 7 classes and crown 7 girls' and 7 boys' state basketball champs. They played from Feb 23 - Feb 28. The best thing that i see is that the girls and biys play the game week. Girls' games 1st and 3rd. Boys games 2nd and 4th. the bad thing was that the 1A teams played semi's on Feb 23 and did not play championship until Feb 27.
  10. the people that will vote on this are the representative from each of the Regions. These people are made up of AD's Administration or coaches and they represent both public and private schools in there region. Your AD knows who the rep is for your region. MASS mail your rep. I made it easy for you. here's a link to the list. http://tssaa.org/about/board-of-control/ it will be interesting when the split happens and recruiting/transfers continues. What will the town criers say then? Jr. or Sha'NayNay is still going to transfer. Bogus address changes are going to happen. Dishonest and win-at-all-cost parents, coaches and FANS will continue to fan (pun intended) the fire. Split is going to happen. when? only God really knows. BUT there is ONE topic that every man and woman can agree on. the TSSAA has plenty of hard evidence, film, dvd, SD cards, whatever you want to call it, to do something about the horrific officiating in High School basketball. Do something about something that can be changed almost immediately and has the unanimous support from every region.
  11. Saw it live. Very physical. I'll let the reader define "physical". In the fourth quarter, if you noticed, the ref that was on the press side of court, was watching the players in back court even when ball was already in front court. Was not impressed with the 6 refs that called all games. Yes, the same 6 called all 8 games. I thought in State, refs only called one game? And not one that envolved team that had ref from previous state game. In he BGA Harding game on Friday, there were 70+ free throws shot. Harding shot 40+. I am not sure how these six guys were picked, but I pray these were not the six best in TN. I hope the supervisors of officials take the game film and the input from spectators serious and do something. The FRA WEBB game got chippy because refs waited till 4th quarter (and Webb was up about 20) to stop the " physical" play. In the boys final, Harding and St George, 2 of 3 refs also called the Harding BGA. Which was also "physical", see 70+ free throws. No complaints SGIS was better team in State final. But on fast break by SGIS, Harding player fouled SGIS #5. Following foul, Harding player got a tech by the same ref that called the foul. Still no issue. #4 shoots FOUL shots. # 5 is 5'9 black kid. #4 is 6'4 white kid. Remeber it is 1 (SGIS player) on 2 fast break. You now see issue is starting #4 now shoots tech shots. Harding asks for clarification. Refs confer and ref that called tech said #4 was the SGIS player that was fouled and that as the call and stop arguing. Not second hand info, I was 10 feet away and heard perfectly.
  12. flopping is the worst, especially on a 3-point shot. The ref only "sees" shooter fall and automatically calls a foul. At a boy's game a couple weeks ago, ref called a foul because the shooter fell down. the problem was that the defender ran by the shooter for a snow-bird fast break. he did not even try to close out or even jump to block shot. just ran right by him. Luckily, a vetern official came in to "discuss" and the call was changed to an inadvertant whistle.
  13. The school districts allow for the students to move from school to school. TSSAA only controls the playing of athletics. And yes, TSSAA should tighten up on players transfering from year to year.
  14. Open enrollment is for every student not just athletes. And just because you are accepted via enrollment to a school does not mean you can play sports. The request for athletic participation still must be submitted to the TSSAA for approval. And sometimes, regardless of the situation, TSSAA declines the request to play.
  15. Don't let the facts get in the way.. http://www.commercialappeal.com/sports/high-school/tssaa-looking-into-eligibility-of-hamilton-standout_36391831
  16. I was wondering how long it would be before you put in your senseless 2 cent opinion. According to you, Everyone outside of the Upper Cumberland cheats and recruits and lies and sells blood at the plasma center instead of donating it to LifeBlood. I guess your continuous spewing out percentages and numbers makes you fell better. Do you just sit on the couch and make up numbers? regardless of how you feel towards TSSAA and how they handle / approve transfers, they do approve of the transfers. And in the last few years they have denied two very high profile players request for transfer, Jarnell Stokes and Skal LabIssiere.
  17. Use it for bulletin board material. Keep beating the teams on the schedule. Gold Ball out-weighs any poll.
  18. her name last name is Pruitt.
  19. It's not called Fan Poll for nothing. Fans, realistic or full-time Homers get to vote. I did not try but I wonder if a person can vote more than once?
  20. I took it as upper Cumberland as the UC you were talking about...
  21. Thank Bob. I was talking about Union City.
  22. just out of curiosity and because I dont know, when was the last time JC and UC had this many losses in the regular season?
  23. UC - how have you been? glad to see the historical knowledge is still flowing. you going to any tourny during christmas break?
