  3. There is another free clinic at the same location tomorrow (Sat May 12th) 10am to noon. I had 5 guys go last weekend and they said it was one of the best clinics they have been to in a while
  4. Michael came and put on a clinic at our school last year and the guys loved it. I am excited about this gym opening up and cant wait to bring the guys over to it. It is going to be a great place to get some good extra training in.
  5. Hey Coaches, Wrestlers and Parents The University of Tennessee's wrestling team will be hosting a clinic at Centennial on May 19th. The clinic will last most of the day and the guys will get a ton of instruction as well as a bunch of live wrestling. The clinic will be instructed by UT's coaching staff and former and current wrestlers. This is a great way to show support for a school trying to build a wrestling program. There are numerous state placers and champs from Tenn on the team so this is a great way to support them and allow them to keep wrestling. Please send this flyer to your wrestlers and parents. Again this is not a fundraiser for Centennial Wrestling we are just allowing them to use our facility this is one of a few fundraising opportunities that UT wrestling has planned this year. You can register online or if you email me I will pencil you down Thanks Phil Pelkey Centennial Wreslting philipp@wcs.edu the university of tennesee The University of Tennessee’s NCWA Wrestling Team will be hosting it’s first annual wresting clinic this summer of 2018! 6. Hey Coaches Below is the info for our summer tournament. We generally have around 80 or more high schoolers and have very competitive pools based on experience level. We usually have some great challenge matches as well at the end and still out the door by 1pm. If you are interested in coming send me an email and I will pencil you in and update you with info as we get closer. 7. Is it still on tonight at 6pm at the elementary school? Not sure if you are on break or not
  8. Thats great to here. Not only a great wrestler but one of the most polite and respectful wrestlers that i have seen in a while
  9. Region 7 had a decent amount of guys that would have been top seeds not wrestle to do injuries and other reasons the week leading up to tournament. We also let track wrestling seed the tournament and then make small changes if necessary. We have done that the past few years and about 80 percent of kids seeded place. It is pretty hard to seed a tournament with 16 guys in most classes without spending 6 hours arguing. When you have a 7th or 8th seed place it makes for an exciting finish and gives all the guys not seeded top 4 a chance. When you have bigger brackets anything can happen
  10. Thank you. It seems like every thread on here gets off topic and turns into people going back and forth complaining about something that should have its own thread. Looks like there were some great region tournaments its too bad those are not being discussed. I can tell you region 7 tournament had some great matches and it was a tough two day tournament. 17 teams , full brackets and great individual performances.
  11. Bangham will be 152 this we just bumped him for the Brentwood match. Also yes very unfortunate but Knight is out. He torn his meniscus a few weeks ago and was trying to continue but doctors said he was done.
  12. Not every wrestler has a track profile and some of those are wrong anyways. To see the most up to date results you have to search for a team and then go to the matches part and look up individual wrestlers. For the coaches that actually input all their dates it is usually pretty accurate
  13. Region 7 tournament is tonight at Independence 5:00 pm - Round 1: Antioch vs Brentwood, Centennial vs Cane Ridge 6:00 pm - Round 2: Indy vs Antioch/Brentwood Winner, Overton vs Cent/CR winner 7:30 pm - Round 3: Region Championship Match (both team qualify for TSSAA State Duals)
  14. They are going to be held at Independence this year.
  15. Centennial and Indy do not wrestle tomorrow so I guess we will have to call it a split unless we get the chance to meet again for a chance at regional duals and I am glad i dont take to much stock in the rankings as I am sure region 7 will be a little more represented at the state tournament than shown.
  16. Page is large school this year
  17. Hey Coach You guys did a great job last year. No down time just a bunch of wrestling. We are looking forward to coming back this year. Thanks Phil Pelkey Centennial Wrestling
  18. just wanted to thank the coaches for bringing their guys out for some wrestling last Saturday. We had some really good matches and everyone got 4 or 5 matches and we were out the door by noon.
  19. still have time to show up tomorrow morning and get some mat time. got some good numbers coming in and expecting more tomorrow. going to be some really good match ups tomorrow.
  20. teams are starting to send in some names its not to late to jump in and get your guys some good mat time. 4 or more matches and should be out between 1 and 2 pm email me with any questions or line ups. philipp@wcs.edu
