  1. Whoever calls the plays for SP needs a head examination. Never understand why coaches go away from what works. Frame should definitely have the ball in his hands majority of the game.
  2. Whoever CF ends up playing next week, I believe they can have success in the ground game. If it’s SP, that’s a tough place to come out of with a win.
  3. The saying goes....it’s always tough to beat a team twice but I see Coalfield sticking to what they do best. I believe the score will resemble our game last night. Coalfield by a TD
  4. Idk what they’re called but if they had any kind of passing game, they’d be a tough out for anyone. They’re physical run blockers and ball carriers. Heard more pads popping tonight than I did almost all of last year.
  5. Junior. I believe but don’t hold me to it. I thought he was a senior but got told he was a junior.
  6. Moral of the story, regardless if the last GB play should’ve been called a TD or not, CF gashed us all night long on the ground. We had a few good plays on defense but they pretty much ran it at will. We had two different chances inside the 2 yard line to score and we didn’t do it. We fought hard and it was a fun game to watch for the most part. Hats off to CF. Felt like we could come out with the win just because I believe we’re the best team they’ve seen so far but didn’t go our way in the end. Guys stepped up for GB on the offensive side of the ball on some plays that gave us a fighting chance but couldn’t finish it. Great experience for these young guys. We’ll be back and better next year unless Biden decides to shut the country down for another year....
  7. There’s a video that’s right down the goal line and it shows half of the players body across the line but you can’t see the ball or if his knee touched before. Hard to tell from our side.
  8. They just ran the ball right down our throats! Close call at the end. Couldn’t tell if ball ever crossed the goal line. I’ll give the referee the benefit of the doubt.
  9. Me, @Gbnation, and @ladykee will be there and I’m sure @gfd709 @cherokean will be too.
  10. In my years of playing against Henry and watching CF play, they’re about as predictable as it gets. He doesn’t call the plays, I believe it’s his brother that does. But when it comes to adjustments, I’m not sure they ever really make them. I respect them to a certain extent because they’d give us some good games here and there and had players that was fun to play against. But from a coaching standpoint, there comes a time where you have to stop worrying about the referees and coach the game. If this game comes down to coaching...... Ryan will out coach him, again.
  11. Will be nice to have some competitive early round playoff games.
  12. Play calling and clock management was definitely poor. #4 and #6 for SP didn’t get used as much as they should have. Too much side to side offense. Gotta start going straight at them.
  13. Poor clock management. Just letting chunks of time roll off the clock and then burn your last timeout after letting more time run off.
  14. Hunter Frame vamped that speed up during the off-season. Kid was moving!
  15. With as many athletes and skill players SP has, I’ve always wondered why the wing T year in and year out? SP has already had more success this game spreading it out.
  16. Really wanna go with Oneida in this one to keep their undefeated season alive. Kinda 50/50 for me right now tho.
  17. I’m going to take it that Covington is good this year. Westview trounced last night. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t Ty Simpson the QB for Westview?
  18. Except for we have been relevant for more than just 1 year. We’re just not a good team this year. You gotta have the talent and experience to compete, but we don’t. Just young and inexperienced. They’ll get better but I believe this team can only do so much. With these types of teams you gotta have patience and composure and just develop them week by week. And ask for 100% effort. That’s about all we can do this year.
  19. 1A this year is way down. And that’s an understatement. We get to watch more competitive games this year however. If there’s no improvement from some teams, SP will waltz to Cookeville and leave out on a red carpet.
  20. Agree @PiRaTe._.MiKe. Little brother is down in the “hot zone” in Florida and he unfortunately caught the virus and is in quarantine. He said it’s nothing more than a small head cold. Nose stopped up and that’s about it. If a player comes down with the virus, they should be the one isolated. Not the whole team having to suffer because a few players. Like you said, especially come playoff time. Put in all that work during preseason and mid season just to have your playoffs stripped from you because of 1 or 2 players being “sick”? That’s just not fair.
  21. 100% agree, as will @orngnblk and @crow. I understand some banter here and there between players if it’s all in fun. But showing your hind end on the field and costing your team when you’re not doing the job yourself is when a leader needs to step up and put them in their place. If not, I’m sure the coaches will or have dealt with it. I’ve only been able to watch 2 games and I’ve seen it all game on both occasions. That’s not Greenback football. Regardless of what others may think, before and during my career of playing for GB, you had respect for the game.... respect for the other team... and respect for your teammates to do the right thing and do your job. Winning or losing it doesn’t matter. People didn’t come to see one player put on a show, it was a team game and that’s the way we played. That’s the way GB football is played. I’m sure it will get fixed!
  22. Well... another rough one. Just not good plain and simple. Main focus is just improvement from here on. And maybe cut out the penalties and smack talking when you’re getting the ball ran down your throat.
