  1. No it means every year they do a blind draw and has nothing to do with the previous years blind draw. They went ahead and did the blind draw before the substate games this year so after all the substate games you already knew who you were going to face at the Glass House. In years pass they did the blind draw after all the substate games had been played.
  2. In 3a Junior Carson Quillen from Greeneville a Virginia Tech Commit. He was a Mr. Baseball Finalist and the TBCA Class 3A Player of the Year last year. He had a .429 batting average, 51 hits, 13 doubles, 37 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. As a pitcher, he had a 10-0 record, struck out 69 had a .609 ERA. Threw a 3 hitter in the State Championship last year as a Sophomore.
  3. You aren't lying about that! I've been in it long enough to see that change and how crazy it has gotten since 2020. East Tennessee was a hidden gem thats been discovered by everyone and their mother
  4. Upperman is the clear favorite. No one thought Greeneville would be back at the glass house this year losing 4 starters off a team that had made the State Tournament two years in a row. Coach Watts have them playing well right now so there shouldn’t be any pressure on the Greene Devils. Just go out and have fun!
  5. As a Real Estate Broker you are right on the money! They will have to build a new high school towards Watt Rd on that side of 40 before you know it. Farragut is 90-95% developed and Hardin Valley is becoming the new Farragut in Knoxville.
  6. Boddie Bible has down a great Job with the Lady Big Red team! Proud of a Greeneville Boy seeing successful. I remember when Boddie would officiate games when I was playing basketball in high school back in Greeneville
  7. The hate you have for a coach that won DB's first State Basketball Championship two years ago since 1945 and took the team back last year is funny. Poore knows more about basketball in his pinky finger than you know about basketball. Keep making yourself look like a clown
  8. No he was talking about Zeller who stepped in to be the interim coach this past season after being the head coach at LC for years. Zeller Coached at Greeneville from 99-2006 and then went to be the head coach at LC after. Lead LC to the Quarter Final's but lost by a TD to Powell and Mobley.
  9. I don't blame you for that and still think they will be a very good team. It's going to be tough to replace players that have started for the last 2-3 years in Bowers, Hoard, Scott, A. Smith, and CJ Smith along with Cummings who transferred in last year.
  10. https://www.5starpreps.com/articles/the-way-too-early-top-football-teams-for-2024/ You will more than likely have to subscribe. This was posted Jan. 2nd. It's for the entire area but yes they do have West at #3 behind Powell and OR for next year. They have them #8 overall for the area behind Alcoa, Bearden, Catholic, Powell, Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Greeneville
  11. That I do not know. I do know he is the Head Coach for the Woman's Flag Football team at Milligan. If he is in fact on the High School Coaching Staff then that would appear to be illegal
  12. You are correct and usually a middle school coach that does the 7V7 (At least thats what i've seen in Knoxville). If he is talking about the kids doing 7v7 with the Witten Huddle team, that isn't ran by the coaching staff at Betsy. (It's ran by Ryan who is the brother of Shawn and Jason and the Head Coach at Milligan College for their Girls Flag Football team). Witten Huddle team isn't exclusive to just Betsy athletes either and know current and former Greeneville players that played on those teams over the years
  13. You’re going to have to give more details than just “working out” because someone might think working out is playing 7 on 7. If he is in fact lifting weights or practicing (what is considered a practice in the eyes of the TSSAA) with the opposing school and the Varsity coaches are there then yes that is illegal. If it’s 7 on 7, working on speed training, no pads, not lifting weights then yes that’s legal.
  14. That happens more than you know. If it’s a 7 on 7 team then anyone can play for them. (Sorta like AAU basketball) and not considered practice in the TSSAA eyes or a Schools sports team. Greeneville had 5 starters on last year team that had played for Witten Huddle over the years. I see the same thing in Knoxville on their 7 on 7 teams. It would be on the coach of the other sport to tell the player he can’t participate in 7 vs 7 sorta like how my old baseball coach told us wouldn’t couldn’t go swimming on a game day.
  15. We must of been at the same homecoming game this year coach because I saw him against Greeneville too. I felt the same way about him. Good Speed and Hands being more like a Kelce type of TE than a Witten type that could block great also. SE just didn’t have time to let the QB get it to him against the better teams like Greeneville, Betsy, or the Mavs in the first round. I think he will do great for Betsy and sure wouldn’t have turned him down if he wanted to drive a little farther west and come to Greeneville
  16. Can't say I blame him if he wants to have any shot of winning games or playing in Big Games. Kid already has 6 D1 offers from Louisville, Miami (OH), Western Michigan, UNLV, Colorado, and San Diego State
  17. Think you misread his statement. He said “the East it’s two teams Central and GP then a big gap between the others”. Nothing about the West or Middle TN and he wouldn’t be wrong saying there is a big gap between Central and GP and everyone else in the East.
  18. These are the # used until '26. They report new numbers every 3 years. Greeneville is sitting at 953 and growing still a little ways off from the 1113 that is the largest school in 4a. https://cms-files.tssaa.org/documents/tssaa/2022-23/2023classification.html#di-football
  19. You know you can't be trusting AI Mavs in Flight! The only way GreenEville could end up in 3a is if they move back to 5 classes like when I played. Greeneville is growing with people moving there and have about 100 more students than when I graduated in 2008.
  20. Hopefully we can get him to come to UT then!!!!
  21. You think he will graded higher than Cade Mays which was a 5 star and a .98 rating?
  22. You’re right and hope Greeneville can win their region to not have to face Fulton. Greeneville got them with Gillespie and Satterfield but the seniors of Kimber and Lee were sophomore and really good. SG still has to get through that region and AE is 1 of Fulton 3 losses on the year. I would guess the loser of the region will get Tyner who beat AE earlier in the year.
  23. South Greene just added 6'7 Chandler Gamble from Knoxville Halls who has averaged a double double on the season and South Greene has already had a good run so far this year. The big question will be if they can get out of the regional tournament withe teams like GP, AE, and Alcoa. Whoever wins that region will have it easy, whoever doesn't will face the defending champ Fulton
  24. Good Pick up for the Scots! He will learn a lot behind Rollins who is the best QB that has came through Maryville College and two years of eligibility left (That is unless he transfer up out of D3). Crazy what Rollins has done in his first 2 season throwing for over 5,300 yards and 44 TD passes to go along with 20 TD's on the ground and went 8-2 this year.
