  1. I'm sure Rang could tell us on both schools how much he was getting paid above and below the table. I wonder why he left GP in the first place since they do have good athletes for a 3a school
  2. Not arguing that point at all especially when they went farther last year than they did this year with a worse record. Just feel like when it comes to overall program Oak Ridge is a better job than GP and has more of a tradition. Not to mention who likes Gatlinburg Traffic?
  3. I wouldn't say so when it comes to pay, resources, or players. Yes GP has won more games than Oak Ridge lately but 5a and Oak Ridge are a different animal than GP.
  4. Just means Clinton might have jelled at the right time. Clinton has had the athletes all year but it’s been consistently putting it together, especially on D.
  5. Someone else from their region should have made it to the Quarters and they wouldn’t be traveling. The TSSAA changed the rule of a higher seed hosts unless they are from the same regions years ago because of Maryville. Now it switched between the regions each year
  6. I figured it would have to be someone already on staff or from the community. (Maybe one of the complaining parent's) There isn't any coach worth their salt that would touch that dumpster fire after what happened
  7. I just ordered them and didn't say anything. I've never seen an official check cleats before a game in my life either as a player or when I coached.
  8. I'm not saying I didn't do the same thing playing the Quarter Finals my Senior year on Sullivan South's grass field https://www.sportsrec.com/482057-rules-for-field-goal-kicking-pads-in-high-school-football.html chrome-extension://bdfcnmeidppjeaggnmidamkiddifkdib/viewer.html?file=https://dt5602vnjxv0c.cloudfront.net/portals/50139/docs/2021%20nfhs%20football%20rules%20book.pdf (Should be page 22)
  9. Don't be telling everyone you were breaking the rules, detachable cleats can't be more than 1/2 in per the rules
  10. I'm sure the will here soon. Greeneville stadium didn't look as nice when I played but boy have they put in the money to make it a top notch facility now
  11. I understand the point you're trying to make but Population around a smaller town isn't the biggest factor in the success of a program. Greeneville isn't a large place but we have built a winning culture in all sports and the championships in the trophy case across a rang of sports to prove it. The School and Community fully bought in back in 07 we aren't pulling kids from larger areas around us like Johnson City or Kingsport
  12. One of the Largest Cities in the State? I'm not a fan of either team but Cookeville isn't in the top 20 population wise in the state and a little larger than Maryville. Everyone wants to play for a winning program and it sounds like Upperman has invested in their Football program the same way schools like Oakland, Maryville, Alcoa, Greeneville, Etc. have.
  13. They lost to Loudon at Home in 2020 in the 2nd round if we are talking play-offs and Fayetteville won in Baxter last year during the regular season.
  14. Fixed it for you. Are you ready to eat your crow and just say you were horribly wrong?
  15. It's called the Maryville Rule. The TSSAA changed the playoff format that each year it switched from Odd Region to Even Region for the Quarter Finals as long as the team playing are not in the same region. This year is the Odd Region hosting year.
  16. They would need more than 62 I hate to tell you. You still have to almost double your first have of scoring to hit the 62 so yes I think your prediction was and still is crazy. I thought it would be a better game but not so much
  17. Once again you still need 40 points and have given up 46 points at half, Giles is closer to hitting your score prediction than central putting up 62. (You were wrong too they are going to need a lot more than 62) Keep making yourself look dumb while your team is down 24 points at half . Maybe you need to find someone to play D or they might put 100 on you
  18. You’re down two TD ‘s and need 40 more points to even hit the 62 points. You have also gave up 37 points in less than 16 minutes. Way to look like a clown
  19. Glad to see Coach Z could step in for a bad situation and right the ship. When I coached with Z our D Coordinator is the current D Coordinator in Richie Wilhite (Taught me a lot as a young LB Coach). His son (Trey) who i remember running around as a kid at practice is the real deal and does everything for the Panthers (325 yards rushing with 4TD's, 120 Yards passing, 10 tackles, and a fumble recovery last week against Rhea)
  20. I 100% agree with you with what i've seen last year and this year so far with PC. Might take some breaks for the team from the East to pull it off.
  21. The Brickyard (Giles Football Stadium) is a tough place to play. It reminds me of The Stone Castle that Tennessee High plays at in Bristol. One is Stone and the other is all Brick and had that old school vibe to both of them
  22. If Macon wins Friday and Stone Wins they would host since they are the higher seed from the same region. If Redbank wins they will host the winner of Upperman/Stone since it’s odd regions year to host the Quarter Finals. If Macon Wins and Upperman wins then Upperman would host since they are the higher seed in the same region. You will need both Macon and Stone to win for Macon to have another home game this season
  23. Good to hear! Maryville continues to grow with the new construction neighborhoods and people moving to the area
  24. I wouldn't say the admin is shutting that door but the overall population growth in Maryville has shut that door. Maryville is at capacity (Can't take tuition students now) and houses just the Sophomore-Senior Class at the High School. Maryville is buying up property around the school to hopefully change that.
