Virtually unbeatable and extremely consistent on all levels, but this whole east tn has tougher districts is still garbage. Lota riding coattails out there Hawk defense is very solid. Best i saw all year. From friendship christian, Paducah tilghman, henry co, Haywood, and 6a Arlington. Very well disciplined and coached up defense. Reeder has got to pull some basketball players and get that offense going. SS should have another strong season in 2019 Congrats to Springfield, safe trip to Jackson next Friday.

Wth??? Haywood’s schedule is clearly more difficult. No there are absolutely not 2 more teams better than Henry county in their district? Yes coaches schedule creampuffs to help the team gel in different aspects of the game. Coaches such as Hookfin do the same thing by showing their kids adversity against tougher competition. Both ways work. No one can argue against Hookfin’s results since he began coaching high school just over a decade ago. Stowe is awesome and a legend in his own right, but I’ve never heard anyone calling for Hookfin to step down as has happened under Stowe once or twice in a blue moon. When the folks in Brownsville ousted Stowe they got a glimpse of what life is like without a quality coach for a handful off years. A regular season win might get you home field advantage. Always a blessing, but if you get beat in the playoffs by the Tomcats...who actually had the better season? Congratulations on a huge win. I hope the momentum carries the Trojans very far. Winning in September doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win in November. Dyersburg knows that all to well, and they’ve handed Hookfin an early exit in the postseason a few years back.

I’m happy that NS is showing signs of life. They are better than the last couple years, but no where near the level of what Dyersburg showed last week. Lexington is one of the worst teams in the area and word is NS won, but didn’t score an offensive TD in the game. If that is truly the case, they aren’t beating a team that held Haywood to a season low in points AND scored a season high on the Tomcats. There are some very impressive athletes suiting up for the Indians, but I don’t think they have reached the level needed to knock off a Dyersburg firing on all cylinders.

Lausanne isn’t 3a but I would argue their win over Whitehaven last season is just as impressive, if not more so

I believe Tech is better than we have shown recently. I think our defense is solid. The workload is simply too much to ask for 40 minutes of a 48 minute game. Offense is just very, very young. We are trying not to play so many kids both ways but the lack of talent and depth are an issue. Friendship Christian was big, but slow. Paducah was very much improved from a year ago. Kudos to their staff. One heck of a turnaround there. We gave the Lexington game away. 6 turnovers and a blocked punt for a TD. Defense was solid vs the rush. We shall see what this evening holds. I’d love to see a shootout just to shake things up a bit.

I’d be content with 7 from the offense, you guys are just on another level than we are at the moment

The Yanker never surprises me, fortunately for me I’ve come out on top more often than him...thus far present odds favor the yanker for sure Tell them Racers to stop playing on Fridays man.

It’s unfortunate the recent success of local youth has soured your humility and respect for others along the way. One might think the constant ebs and flows of rural high school sports could possibly keep such attitudes at bay. Alas, there is always 1 fella that fails to recall such history. I take solace in the fact that a massive majority of the big red nation understand our plight. No liberty will not score 7 points on your defense. We haven’t scored an offensive touchdown all season. Shoot, we haven’t scored on a first team defense since we played South Side last season. That being said, I would consider those 7 points as a measuring stick of just how poor the Patriot D truly is. Being as how we put up 25 on you last season in a half. Shoot we only topped that number 2 other times all year and both of those scoring frenzies took all 4 quarters. (See what I did there. Play nice or the troll will roll.) We all know who is going to win the game. There is no need for guarantees. I hope you all travel safely and have a wonderful time in our neck of the woods. I am looking forward to seeing this new offensive scheme that I continue to read about each week. I have long said the biggest chink in the Patriot armor is the lack of a passing game. We have a few young men on defense that are looking forward to this challenge. As long as both teams come out healthy I think everyone can be satisfied. Maybe in the near future this game will resume its past anticipation and rivalry.

I know you do music man. I really thought I saw where someone called you a coach with the Trojans. Music educators should receive a larger stipend as it has the potential to be a year round thing as opposed to seasonal. After school sessions almost daily, better programs have pep bands, then marching, concert, district and state competitions. I’m all too familiar. Not a sport, but most definitely a competition. Good luck with it.

No sir, not implying anything. As I stated in my post, the coaching staff and school administration are top of the line. And why disqualify yourself from a guaranteed victory. Once again, I believe everyone wishes the young QB the best and we are very excited by his return to the field.

Everyone is glad the young man is ok. The only question would be eligibility based on the TSSAA acclimazation policy. 2 days of helmets, 3 days of shells, then full pads. It is important because of the heat illness concerns. Even if the young man was cleared by a physician to return to sport, Trenton Peabody would still have to modify his workload to coincide with the policy. Peabody has a tremendous coaching staff and administration so that shouldn’t be any concern. Besides, no one throws a QB on the field with 2 or 3 days to prepare for a varsity match up. Especially against a nondistrict opponent that will be so completely overmatched as BTW was. Milan’s offense is a leaps & bounds more prolific than it has been in recent memory. I still like Peabody to win, even on the road, but Milan has some explosion to them now instead of just the grind it out mentality.

Those two schools are maybe 3 miles apart. One location went into lightning delay just after the first quarter and finally cancelled after 2+ hours. The other site continued play and eventually finished the game around 11pm all the while putting everyone on site at risk. It was still storming continuously in Jackson after midnight. The officials should be suspended. The school should be put on probation and fined by the TSSAA and any other responsible parties should be investigated by the Board of Medical Examiners for the state of TN. Life just isn’t precious anymore
