Hats off to Westview players and coaches. They had a really good game plan to attack our defense. I think people may need to reconsider writing them off. Union City has the bye next week hopefully we can get healthy and finish the season strong.

Are you saying the coaching staffs are a coin flip? Maybe the head coaches are but I don’t think anyone has as good a staff as Peabody. Haywood hiring Puckett gets them close

My guess would be that one of those teams is undefeated and the other lost a game by 50. I honestly don’t mind that pollsters give a nod to teams who have good records. Championships are decided on the field.

The kicker is a real weapon all touchbacks on kickoffs and nearly made from a field goal from 50+. Yea you guys are going to be dangerous in a couple years. I was impressed by your offensive game plan and execution in the first half. QB was accurate OL protected well and your receivers made some great plays even when we had decent coverage. Our coaches made some good adjustments at the half. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way.

I think Peabody is going to present some problems for LC in the trenches. Line play and tackling were the problems for LC against UC and giving up 30 to Central doesn’t make me believe that those problems are better.

We have had good fullbacks over the last few years. This year we have been able to attack the corners against a quality opponent. Having those sweeps go from 20-30 yards instead of 5-6 makes a big difference.

Scoreless tie at the half. Both defenses are playing really well. Both offenses have made some plays but neither has been able to finish a drive yet.

I watched the 1st quarter of USJ and Liberty. Not sure how useful it was. Liberty is real bad and that is a shame. USJ appears solid up front. I expect our DBs to be challenged by their QB and receivers. Finch seems a capable replacement for Steele Haynes who just gutted us last year. I think having 8 or 9 lineman that we can depend on like we do now will be a big difference from last year when we were short handed up front. I was really impressed by how much faster we looked compared to last year also. I expect this game to be close with the homer in me picking UC 21 USJ 17

Yea that Martin 8th grade class is going to be a problem. 7th too with the younger Simpson on the team. Martin Union City and Huntingdon all have a ton of talent coming up the pipeline. This region will be highly competitive for the foreseeable future.

I won’t post in this thread anymore as it’s off topic but how is that you know that these people aren’t moving and being compliant? If you have some evidence submit it to the TSSAA otherwise you are just speculating. Memphis isn’t the only place where players change teams.

So your problem is people there have options? Rural people move. Kids switch schools. Seems to happen every where. Charter schools are plague on the public school system diverting funds that could be used to improve the existing schools. Those kids and parents deserve better and I hope they are getting better at MASE but unless you know of some impropriety by Coach Miller why shouldn’t he be working at MASE?
