  1. Then Governor McWafflepants should have waited until the week of August 3rd to announce his executive order.
  2. There is a reason Gov Lee has not signed the executive order. Thanks Metro.
  3. With everyday that goes by the order is not signed it makes me think their may a hitch in the plan due to Metro Nashville's decision. These people need to stop putting these kids through this rollercoaster ride.
  4. Nope. Manfred did an interview tonight, you should watch it.
  5. Actually the body needs time to heal from playing football. Playing a season in the spring and then again in the Fall will see increase in injuries for student athletes. There is a reason football is about the only sport you don't see playing year round, it is physically impossible for the body. The vaccine has nothing to do with this because 50% of people will not take it and honestly that number will probably be lower due to the fast nature in which it was created. You are going to see football in the fall in the majority of states and those states that choose to play in the spring are putting their student-athletes at a much higher risk of injury in the Fall of 2021, which is why you would see college bound players sit out a spring football season.
  6. Did you come out of the bunker today to post this?? Football is happening in the fall. Football in the spring is not in best interest of zero parties and will be detrimental to the health of student athletes.
  7. Have you not left your house since March?? Live in Fear much. NFL football will for sure happen and NCAA football will happen. Take it to the bank. It may not be all college teams but it will happen. Just keep staying in your house while the rest of us live our lives.
  8. This financially is a huge hit to schools as many will lose rivalry non-region games. With limited attendance already, teams need to make as much money at the gate as possible.
  9. When is the last time Maryville did not play Alcoa during the season? With the passage of the hybrid plan, this is a very good possibility for the 2020 season.
  10. I know a little 1A school in Blount Co. who is on the phone with some California players as we speak. Great selling point, play ball here in the Fall, and move back put West and play in the spring. I kid, I kid.
  11. California joins the list of states that say no to Fall Football.
  12. Sounds like someone is watching too much mainstream news and not diving into the data. How about you stay home and let the rest of us live our lives??
  13. If that happens and I am a player with a scholarship offer, I am not playing in the spring. Teams will be without the best players in the state.
  14. They have the ability to create a bubble that HS do not. Next.
  15. So you are basically saying HS can't function like the NCAA and Pro Sports. Right now we have leaders who have no stones in terms of making a decision. Make a decision, people will be upset either way but the lack of leadership is frustrating. TSSAA kicking the can down the road today deserves criticism. If you think the Gov will include HS contact sports to be played why not have a plan in place in case it doesn't happen??
  16. At this point you can't be reasoned with if you think HS athletics can function at a safer rate than Pro Sports and NCAA. Just for kicks and giggles, how does a HS test students at the same rate like the NCAA and Pro Sports to help the spread??
  17. I have followed this story closer than most and you honestly think the TSSAA is on the same level of competence of the NCAA and NFL. The idea to ask the governor to put them on the same level is laughable.
  18. The order doesn't open the door for lawsuits at all. Well someone could sue but it would be thrown out in court. No way someone can argue HS and rec leagues across the state have the same ability and resources to safely return to play that Pro Leagues and colleges have currently. I am just as frustrated with a HS senior in the house who just wants to finish his HS football and baseball career. But I can rationally see where they are coming from.
  19. Someone sounds like they need to actually go read the order. Football, soccer, and other contact sports are prohibited. NCAA and Pro Sports are exempt due to according to the state having adequate resources to combat the pandemic vs. What high schools are rec leagues have.
  20. People do not realize the TSSAA can only govern by the rules set by the state of Tennessee. Since Gov. Lee's executive order the TSSAA literally cannot allow the HS football season to start on time. Frustration should go to Gov. Lee, not the TSSAA.
  21. Nolensville is currently getting a false sense of success much like Signal Mountain did about a decade ago. Once they move it they will be an average team year in and year out. Their fans are entitled already so I would hate to be the coaches and administration because when they start competing against schools with the same size the W-L record won't be near as pretty and championships will be few and far between.
  22. Nice back pedaling there bud. You should be a DB coach.
  23. Expose my kids to a much more serious environment? You just need to go kick rocks. My wife is a surgeon who about lost her job due to the shutdown and lack of surgeries being allowed to be performed and she is now working 6 days a week to get caught up. My family is aware we are in more danger when we move driving to our new house than the dangers of this virus. Keep drinking the political Kool-Aid. Do you know the CDC since late May has been including positive antibody tests into the daily positive count? Why is that? It is like they want this to continue. The death rate and hospitalization rate has plummeted since April. Now the news talks about ICUs being 85-90% filled, what the average citizen doesn't know is that hospitals have to keep that % there to stay financially viable. It is a common percentage. Luckily for our family we will have the means to provide our son a senior season, but many will not. Also be careful who you lecture on here about the the risks of the virus, so go ahead and go back and live in your bubble.
  24. The TSSAA and the BOC don't want to make tough decisions. This was evident when they passed the buck to local school districts at the beginning of summer, creating a gap in opportunity for athletes. Secondly, they honestly think the TSSAA should be given the same exception as the NCAA and NFL in the state. Who really thought this was a legitimate idea?? There is no way in H E double hockey sticks and high school athletic department has the finances or resources to conduct testing and have the preventative measures that the Titans, UT, or Vandy can have on a daily basis. Gov. Lee should laugh away that request. Thirdly, Childress was quoted as saying if the order gets extended then we have some options but we aren't going to tell you those just yet. Why not?? I have a senior, and I have had discussions with his mother about us moving if we feel football would not occur this year in the state. To me there are two big issues that hinder the TSSAA and the state of TN board of education. 1. Lack of Communication 2. This is the big one. Lack of Leadership and the ability to crap or get off the pot. Leadership takes cajones and the ability to make decisions in tough situations. Neither body wants to do that, they want to pass the buck.
  25. It is based off the 20 day attendance that schools report to the state.
