Of course they can, but have you ever stopped to think that maybe it's because MCS has some testing procedures that wouldn't necessarily be considered "above board"?
Recheck #4, Hayden McDonald did indeed put on a football jersey. He decided to focus on wrestling mid way through his Sophomore season.
The previous year, our 3rd place Heavyweight was Mr. Gumm.
I think they told us on a Tuesday, but the tournament was moved to Thursday & Friday as you said. Everything else has been relatively smooth from my experience.
If anything, the girls is simpler. One classification, one champion. Not sure what is jacked up about the girls division other than we need more girls competing to later have arguments over how many classifications we should have....
I'm a Maryville guy and not sure I'd have us in the top 20. This was our peek year and I doubt your assessment of us always having good upperweights is going to continue.
Wolfe ain't pinning McDonald and is definitely NOT significantly better. It was a 3-2 match when they faced off and would be a 50/50 split out of 10 match ups.
We've picked up a few Cali kids on the wrestling team, both come from good backgrounds so no complaints there. One in particular is one of the top 12u golfers on the planet and wrestles in the off season to stay in shape. I'm not sure who our best golfer ever is but he'll be pushing for that title by the time he's in HS.
There are several early matchups I'll be watching. The 138 pound class in particular has several early match ups that will be interesting to watch Day 1. The Long vs Hosford match will be one of the few 1st round matchups period where 2 medalists go at it from the get go.
