  1. You are exactly right. They don't have anything to hold there heads down about. But these girls at MC eat, sleep, and breathe basketball and I can guarantee there have been a lot of sleepless nights since then. But I will also say this. MC will play next year with a chip on their shoulders. These girls are ready for the season 2013-14 season to start now. They will all be working hard to improve their games over this off-season and Morgan/Young will have them ready to go on that opening tip. With all they have returning, plus Myers, who missed the entire season with an injury, they will as usual be hard to handle.
  2. McMinn Fire is not your typical AAU team. It is primarily made up of girls that will attend McMinn Central with the exception of one or two girls usually. The coaches teach them what they will need to know to be ready to play for MC( plays, press, etc). So when they arrive as freshman they are ready for the most part. As for one of the local middle schools, they do not do anything that even closely resembles what MC does. So maybe I'm wrong, but it sure sounds like a feeder program to me. And the Fire organization does not go out and get anyone, these players come to them.
  3. With their huge recruiting budget, what are they doing for this girl? Is she getting a meal plan, maybe getting her books paid for, gas money, or what? Maybe a weekly allowance? Some new Jordan's? I don't think so. She might get a t-shirt or two. But the true reason she's coming to Central is because she might have the opportunity to win a gold ball!
  4. If that's the case show proof of that. Mcminn Fire is the reason girls come to Central. Central cares about their program. There goal every year is to win the gold ball. If Tellico and surrounding areas want to have a great program, then start with a great feeder program which is what the Fire is. Don't make excuses as to why they are so good. The girls and their parents make the decisions as where they are going to go, not Joe Young!
  5. Just wanted to congratulate the Chargerettes on an outstanding season. To the four seniors. Your hard work has payed off and it has been a joy to see each of you blossom as players and also young ladies. Last night can never overshadow all the accomplishments you girls have achieved over the last four years. How many others can say they won 120+ games, made three state appearances, and won the prized gold ball. Keep your heads held high because you have an entire community that appreciates your efforts and stand behind you. To the ten underclassmen. Never forget last night. Keep it in the back of your minds, but never forget. Make it motivate you to work harder every time you step on that court. Pride yourselves to be the best you can be. To the incoming freshman. Use these fourteen young ladies as an example of what it takes and what it means to be a Chargerette. If it was easy everyone would do it so come prepared. And lastly to everyone who reads this post. The Chargerettes will be back again next year in search of another Gold Ball. GO BIG BLUE!!
  6. Just heard that MC is feeding the students before the game tonight. How many more students will attend this game because of that. The ROUNDHOUSE will be rockin!!
  7. I don't agree with Central being groomed to play without Masengil. They are too dependent on her. They have got to get more scoring from the others around her. When the competition heats up Central might not be able to depend on 25 points a game from Masingal. This could spell trouble because they aren't used to it. Young comes to mind. She stepped up in the state game last year and is capable of taking that role. As for a deep bench, I believe it is about nine deep. Out of the four coming off the bench, two have state experience. Far from deep in my opinion.
  8. Young stepped up last year in the state and in my opinion should have been put on the state tourney team. She will be looked upon to score much more if Masingal is stopped.
  9. Thats a tough question. I think they do but none of them have ever been put into that situation. Your question also justifies why the injury to one of their staters could hurt them down the road.
  10. McMinn Central could make a run at the title. Losing one of their top players for the year hurt pretty bad. If she plays I think there would be no doubt at another title. But they still may have enough firepower to bring home another Gold Ball. Still a long way to go but I would presume Morgan and Young will have their troops ready for battle.
  11. I just heard Kelsey Myers is ready to return. Many Central fans will be so glad because she is one of the top players, even as a freshman. I worry about her stamina being weaker due to her being out for the past few weeks. I know she is tough and will suck it up, but her resting for the past few weeks may hinder her in some aspects.
  12. Who knows as far as that goes. lol. I believe the injury is actually a fracture to the upper fibula which is a non weight bearing bone. Would be much less serious than a broken tibia. Maybe its true.
  13. Congrats to Coach Morgan, Coach Young, and the Chargerettes. Have heard a few rumors that the freshman Myers might come back. Can you confirm this??
  14. I havent had the opportunity to see the Pirkle girl play much in the games I was able to attend but I have heard some good things about her. Should be an exciting 4 years for Morgan and the Chargerettes.
  15. Not going to argue. Lifes too short. As for MC. Trentham is doing very well. She has improved since day 1. And they will need her to keep improving for the next four years. Morrow is stepping it up. S. Williams can play and is regaining her confidence. P. Williams improves every time out. Masingal is a beast. Youngs a warrior. Casteel and Coleman are sharp shooters. Centrals current 5 plus bench is very talented. My only point was to say that losing Myers hurts and she wont be replaced as you say. Others will just step up. Her athleticism is unreal. She can shoot it, shes fast, plays good D, and she can jump out of the gym. I truly think that MC's future can be very special.
  16. Would be great to see them make another run. Future looks bright as well !!!
  17. Really. Wow. You better check your stats
  18. Cody. Did I say something wrong?? The one thats hurt, who is one of several starters that you classify her as,is I believe Centrals second leading scorer on the team. Its a big loss. Sorry I didnt know her name. Wasnt taking anything away from any others. But this loss has obviously hurt Central.
  19. MC is playing very well right now. I dont know if I would go as far as to say they are very deep. As the competition gets tougher the bench will get much thinner. I was also told the freshman starter thats been hurt is done for the year. Tough break for MC. Hope they can make it back to the Boro !!
  20. Agreed. Also didnt help that freshman scoring threat Myers fouled out. She was rarely on the floor. I bet she didnt play a total of 1 qtr and picked up 5 fouls. That hurt MC. Meigs deserved it. They played well.
  21. Way off on this game. Meigs hits a last second shot to beat MC by 1. Fouls, fouls, and more fouls called. Hats off to Meigs. It was their night.
  22. Great game to watch. Both teams played tough throughout. Central lost junior Massingal and freshman Myers in 3rd and 4th quarter with ankle injuries but both returned. Bradleys size didnt bother MC for the most part but I think it wore on them late. MC very young with yesterdays starting lineup consisting of 2 juniors, 1 soph, and 2 freshman. Hope to see both in the Boro. Hats off to each team for a great game.
  23. Lets hear predictions on this cross county rivalry.
