  1. Sure you guys ain't playing possum like last week?
  2. Sounds like you fellas are gearing up to make another run at in 2-3 years down the road. Only problem is that Alcoa sits at the end of the road. Maybe you guys can get that monkey off the valleys back in the future.
  3. Would be a sight for sore eyes from watching this offense the last couple of years. I liked the reverses against Grundy but good teams will sniff that out after it's ran once.
  4. Maybe so. I'm more worried about hitting our stride mid season and being healthy for the playoffs.
  5. We did have several weapons, but Taye was the leader for the team in my opinion. He made us go last year. This year so far that looks to be Condra. Looking forward to seeing how the offense progresses going forward. We definitely have options but will we use them. Hopefully Pickett isn't needed this week either. Let him rest as long as possible.
  6. @Indian how is your bunch this year compared to last years team?
  7. Looking the part and being the real thing are two completely different things. We looked the part last year. Had some unfortunate breaks towards the end of the year and I think our HC handicapped us with the offense.
  8. Couldn't agree more. Would leave a lot of the games last year scratching my head on why he wasn't given the ball more. Regarding your comment about the playbook, we said that last year about the first couple of games, but that turned out to be our full playbook apparently. Just looking for improvement from week to week. Cut down on unforced penalties, protect the ball, and play with a mean streak. Defense needs to keep it up. Didn't catch the number, I think #6 but he seemed to have a knack for being around the football every play on defense.
  9. On paper I agree. But that's why the games are played and injuries/luck/momentum/refeeres and a number of other things might say other wise. Congrats on the win tonight.
  10. Got to forgive this old geezer. Eyes aren't as good as they once were. Thought I seen Pickett on the field tonight. Do you know who the kid was that got injured? Condra ran with a mean streak tonight. Hope to see it continue. EJ had some nifty moves tonight once he got the ball in his hands. Looking forward to see how we progress next week.
  11. Not sure about MC yet. Looked pretty good but I don't believe Grundy is the best measuring stick. You think you guys will make a run for #1 in the region this year?
  12. Got out of there injury free and got some of the Youngbloods experience. Condra was solid tonight and got more than his fair share of carries with 4 tds. Pickett and Wilson played their part well tonight in the offense. Hope to see the ball get spread around more in the passing game. Need to eliminate some of the silly penalties going forward. Good luck to the jackets going forward, you guys have some tough games coming up. Looking forward to seeing the Warriors at home next Friday.
  13. @Bledsoebtheboys was curious to hear from you. Did you guys get the lead and slack off?
  14. 20-0 MC with about 2 minutes left in the 1st half. Whoever said Condra wouldn't get that many carries tonight looks like they might be proven wrong. Shot ourselves in the foot a couple times. Hope to clean it up in the second half.
  15. General, I enjoy your post 99% of the time. Have actually had some good discussion with you on here before about Forrest and Marion. Was just trying to tell Salem to save his time because no matter what he says, he is fighting a losing battle because it will be him vs 100. Those who shall not be named have quite a few that live on here and are one of the most active fan bases on the football boards. If he has the amount of time to waste on them, then go ahead and be my guest. The rivalry is dead for now and will hopefully come back in the future. It's a shame, and it hurts the pockets of both teams whether the adults will admit it or not. Was glad to hear an outsider perspective though, gave me a giggle. If you really are interested go back and look at the history of the rivalry. There has been streaks on both sides. What goes around comes around. With that said, I believe the majority of our fan base has been able to accept that it's over for now and move on to newer things. Was trying to shift the topic to the game and actually get something positive going. As you all are aware, we've had a bumpy start to the year and getting a W tonight would give us some positive momentum. We return some good ones and have a really good bunch of freshman. We were able to handle the jackets last year at home pretty easily, but we have some shoes to fill, especially at QB. Now, the floor is yours @GeneralForrest
  16. @Salem don't waste your time on the rivalry discussion. Will be better off just agreeing to disagree and use your time on other subjects. As for the game tonight, hopefully the rain holds off and both teams can get through injury free. Everybody have a safe trip up. Hopefully the warriors can start the season off on a good note.
  17. Any input on the teams overall attitude. Are they walking with a little bit more swagger? Developing a toughness? Will be curious to see the type of Offense you guys will be running this yea as well. Looking forward to the Jamboree.
  18. I could not agree with you more on points 1 & 2. I think your answer to #2 is Ralph Potter. As long as he is there, AND WINNING, then the academic side of the house won't be an issue. Winning cures all. This run of success from McCallie seems to have forced Baylor to step their game up a bit. Kimrey's track record is impressive though. He might have Baylor competing for championships. I will take my leads from Reaction. He seems to be pretty confident in the direction they are going. Plus, Booger is pretty plugged in with the happenings in Chatt town.
  19. Will definitely be keeping up with Boyd this year. For those of you that think Rankin will just roll over and take the Baylor/McCallie leftovers, I think you will be surprised. If they are truly all in on football, things will get interesting. The Bucs have plucked some talent from the valley in the past and even infiltrated the state of Alabama for talent. With Rankin's experience/connections, Boyd will have a large network to pull talent from.
  20. Will be curious to see where he lands. If he can pull the majority of the talent together in Chatt and maybe even grab some of the top kids from the valley, look out.
  21. Marion County will have a talented bunch just like this year, but will that talent be put in the best position to win, especially when it comes to playoff time. Gen Forrest, that trip to your place might be a long ride back home.
  22. Congrats Tullahoma players and fans. Unbelievable season! That was the best game of football I've watched in a few years. Those were two GREAT teams going at it and you hated to see either one lose. I'm not defending Olive for not kicking the FG, but maybe he left it up to the kids on whether to go for it or kick the FG. From an outsiders perspective, it seems like he has that type of relationship with the players. Safe travels to both teams and fans, congratulations to both teams on a great season, congratulations to both group of seniors and best of luck to you wherever you may land next in life. Thank you for giving it your all and giving us fans an all time classic to watch.
  23. That was weird. I think if I'm ENashville coach I'm going down swinging. Thy look like they are going to keep fighting till the end though. Credit to those kids and coaches. Alcoa fans, how does this team stack up to the usual Alcoa team?
  24. Just can't beat yourself against Alcoa. Thought this was going to be a close one. The snap over the QB's head was the beginning of the end
