Have any of you Gallatin folks heard anything regarding who the real frontrunners may be? We know it's not going to be any of the 3 names mentioned on here yesterday.

Yes, but I also think that if Creasy ever did get a college opportunity he would make the necessary adjustments to his offensive philosophy to give him the best chance to be successful. At times he's been described as a wing T coach but anyone who watches Oakland would be able to see that they're multiple. Creasy's playbook has continued to evolve and expand over time. Brilliant offensive mind

I don't think he's ready to take over a program like Gallatin. Not sure he'd be ready to take over TC either, but it'd be a better place for him to start since he has no HC experience. I don't blame him for applying but don't think there's any way he'd get serious consideration for this job

I would guess that Creasy would only leave Oakland to move up to the college level similar to GQ at Maryville.

Surely you don't seriously think Creasy would do that.

He did go to high school in Macon County but grew up in Gordonsville.

It probably wasn’t the right call, but I do get why they did it. If we’re talking about the same play in the playoff game, at that point the 3rd quarter was almost over with Maryville up 14-3. You obviously never want to turn it over in your own territory but even if they punted Maryville might’ve started their drive at midfield or better. They must have had a play call that they liked there to get a couple yards and it didn’t work. If it had been much longer than that, it really would’ve been dumb. I don’t hate being aggressive in that particular situation because it may have been the only shot they had to get back in the game. Otherwise Maryville was going to grind the clock down and really put them in a bind while also possibly going up 21-3. But obviously not getting it on 4th down in that situation sealed their fate.

I think the importance of a good strength and conditioning program is often overlooked by a lot of folks. I’ve heard firsthand of some programs who take several months off after the season ends.

Is beating Maryville the most important thing in your view? I would hope the team has bigger goals in mind than that. But to answer the question, of course they CAN beat Maryville. But do I think it will happen? No

It's no guarantee that they win it the next 2 years, but if I had to make a prediction right now I would agree with you. It's very possible if not likely that Oakland will be better the next 2 years than they were this year.

Not to mention getting on here to slander a 17/18 year old kid is sad.

No one said Dowell didn't win the award because he has bad grades or bad character. There was some discussion about those areas being part of the judging criteria, but I think you took it the wrong way. Either way, highly inappropriate to use the term "hood rat." No one said or implied anything of the sort about Dowell.

They appealed and it was approved.

Most would take winning a state title over winning Mr. Football 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

As stated above, I get advocating for your guy but calling someone lousy is going too far. Everyone who’s nominated is worthy of winning the award. You can make a case for why your guy should have won without being disrespectful to others.

I'd say if Gordonsville can't win their region easily next year, they definitely won't have anything for SP.

Waverly dropped to 2A this cycle

Union City, McKenzie, MASE, & Moore County in the West. South Pitt returns a lot I believe, they'd probably be my pick in the East. Gordonsville should be good again but I know they also lost some really good seniors. I think Clay Co definitely takes a step back next year, they lost a ton of really good players

I'd confidently agree with 1, 2, & 6. Not sure how I'd rank 3, 4, & 5 at this point

Highly doubtful on Creasy but I'd give him a call nonetheless
