  1. Interesting to note that on The Big Ones contest, for the numbers of people picking the Rebels, the percentages keep dropping closer to a toss-up. When I just looked, it's dropped to 66.2% McKenzie. It was 68 yesterday.
  2. I'm not worried about McKenzie, just confident. But notice I did say "after Friday, I might". One game at a time.
  3. Lol. @PeabodyPride I'm still waiting.
  4. Thanks @Salem. Feeling pretty good. Boys are focused and ready. Rebs will be thinking Appomattox after Friday night.
  5. Dang! Talk about a bulldozer clearing a path!
  6. I've wondered as well why we don't use our TEs more. I know we have some boys that have the size and hands for it. Also, what about using #7 as a blocking fullback for our speedy little running backs. He could open holes like the Jaws of Life.
  7. Curious as to whether your numbers were rosters at the beginning of the season or current player numbers. We all know the grind of a 10 game season wears the boys down and you lose some to season-ending injuries. And of these numbers, which schools have the depth, talent, and luxury to only play defense or offense. Which ones rely on players on both sides of the ball? South Pitt comes to mind with their athletes, but you know that's gotta wear them down in the fourth quarter. Luckily for SP, they are usually playing with a running clock and can sub in the little ones for extra playing time and experience so their starters don't usually see the 4th quarter.
  8. The good thing about Peabody's invincibility is that now we know they are human and beatable. It'll take a lot, but can be done on the right night with the right mindset and execution of plan. After Friday, I might go on Amazon and look for Kryptonite for the boys to wear in their gloves and uniforms!
  9. maaaaayyyyyyybbbeeeeeeee? But, after Friday, I'd love to talk about it.
  10. yes, he is fine. shifted to more power running lately, but passing game and him as a big target are still part of the plan. His YACs are what is so exciting when he gets his hands on the ball. But, we've been fortunate to be able to use a couple of other receivers as well. #14 & 2 are showing out this year. IMO, I'd like to see #13 as a wideout or TE besides his production on defense. He's got really soft hands, but doubt that will ever happen.
  11. For my 2 cents, I'm hoping the Falcons take this one in a nail-biter!
  12. If all you have to go on is the game at Red Bank, then that won't show you very much. We were uninspired on both sides of the ball that game. As has been mentioned by others, we usually play up and with the level of competition. Since that game, they have really focused and taken care of anyone in the way, but we still haven't flexed the whole package. The Rebels will bring all they have and City will respond. Look for that Friday. The Tigers are ready!
  13. Yes, since we are hosting, City will stream through NFHS. If you follow either team, you can get it.
  14. thanks for showing the love. I think a lot of people's brackets are going to be JACKED UP after Friday night.
  15. I'm sure they would like that--the Tigers are hungry and ready to throw down! But it's lion. That's what's for dinner tonight. Safe travels down, safe return back.
  16. Coach, you're right. Marvin's is a great place to tie on the feedbag. The fried chicken is spectacular. For my Mexi-fix, I really enjoy our our most recent addition--Las Poblanitas just off the square. Used to be the old Cattleman's, and a dozen other things. Huge portions and the service is top notch. If you like hot, ask for the Salsa Picosa. A bowl of home-made hot sauce that will set you free. For our out of town friends, there are also several choices in the downtown square. While Honey's is a good choice, you can't go wrong with The Local or even Cahoot's. It used to be the old jail a million years ago, and the jail cells are small dining rooms. I could go on and on, but won't keep boring ya'll with food instead of football! Go Tigers!
  17. You're too kind ST. Can't talk you out of skipping the Clay Co. game and traveling to Tiger Hill for your good luck mojo can I?
  18. Bologna sandwiches should be available, but I will confirm for those Lion fans hungry after such a long, arduous trip down to Tiger Hill. Concessions usually open up around 6 for those early birds. But let me tell you, the Smash-Burgers are the Shizz! I usually get one of each--after I've eaten at one of the local joints in town! So I highly encourage ya'll to wait until you get to the school campus and eat, but if you may be coming down I 65, and can't wait to get to the stadium, then stop at Nick's Grill right off exit #14 in Frankewing. It's in the lobby of the Motel 6. What? Yes. You will not go wrong. Try the Street Burrito w/ carnitas or your choice of protein and the Street Fries. The onion rings are next level also, like our football team. The burgers are also a great choice. Or The Cuban sandwich. Or, the Chicken Quesadilla. ORRRRR, if you get here with plenty of time to spare, try Edz Wingz on Oak Street. Google it. Best wings, burgers, brisket quesadillas, and smoked thighs in a 50 mile radius. Don't expect fast food, this stuff is worth the 2.5 hour drive you're going to be making. Get them wet. Skip the celery. And the Fried Green Beans or Hot/Fresh Pork Skins are great apps also. Tell them Varo sent you.
  19. he's healthy enough to play but it may be a game-time decision. Although with him we offer a whole different look and we are definitely on a different level, without him we have still been very successful. #1 Johnson has reached (unofficially) 980 yards this season rushing and has 20 TDs to his credit. And he's still a Junior. Like at every school on all levels, someone has to step up to fill the gap and the Tigers seem to have done that easily this year. Dresden will be a challenge for sure, but I have confidence the Tigers will take care of business Friday. One. Game. At. A. Time.
  20. Sorry for your loss. Prayers from the Tiger community.
  21. What do you mean rookie? Are you saying HHS can't keep their own players from moving? Or do you mean they need pointers on how to run a successful program that will draw student-athletes to their school? Or maybe the school admins/coaches need to muzzle those "interested" parties in the stands that cause stink wherever they go and run kids and families off?
  22. Why is it the West keeps producing multiple nominees? Fayetteville faced at least three if not four candidates last year, but we did okay. If things work out, we'll face at least two, and possibly a third when it's all said and done. Congratulations gentlemen on your nominations. I've seen Kelley--he gets my vote.
  23. What can the Tiger faithful expect from the visiting Gleason High Bulldogs? Their won/loss record seems to blow hot or cold--sometimes scoring, sometimes not.
