  1. Thanks for the invite my friend. I’m not sure I can make it in time but will try my best. We probably won’t get to the field until at least 6:30. I don’t the think the Commish will make it down this time. I’ll let him tell you about that. Leon is unable to attend as well. Hopefully I will be able to make it in time to at least say hello! Looking forward to a great game.
  2. I asked the same Old Devil. I haven’t seen him since Covid. I hope he wasn’t a victim of the pandemic.
  3. Yep, though @olddevil still pops in from time to time. I haven’t anything from @Drewcephus on here in a long time. Does anyone know what happened to The Yanker? I always got a laugh at his prediction posts.
  4. I totally get the pissing contest. Our place, that was new when y’all came here in 2017, was cut and reduced in seating and parking numerous times before plans were finalized due to political pissing contests.
  5. That is the million $ question. The outcome of this game rests on the young but broad shoulders of Crenshaw more so than any other player on the field. Is he capable of TCB; I think he absolutely is. An effective passing game opens the run up. This game could be an all time classic if that happens, or a snooze fest if it doesn’t. I do feel the Jacket defense is playing it’s best right now. They’ve been pointing to this game since the overtime loss earlier this year at home to the Patriots. I can’t wait for Friday night to get here.
  6. I saw first hand in the 2018 semis what the Tomcats can do on turf. It didn’t hurt that that team wanted a little payback for 2017 too.
  7. FB, I know nothing about Lexington this year. I actually commented about this game on another thread earlier. I do know what Pearl Cohn brings every year and they ain’t no joke. I think your boys get it done. The Jackets took care of business there a few years back.
  8. Question for the Haywood faithful; having come right by Haywood’s stadium on my way to Munford last night, why can’t/couldn’t the Haywood county officials put some of that Covid money most counties got toward a nicer facility for the Tomcats? Having driven over to Tipton County and seeing the nice turf fields at Brighton and then Munford, the Haywood teams deserve something like that too. The caliber of teams you guys continually put out deserve it too. I don’t mean to knock any Haywood County officials, it was just a thought that popped in my head on the way home last night.
  9. They can be beat at home. My Jackets did it in 2017 in round 2 after trailing 14-0 at half. They have a nice, traditional stadium. Good football atmosphere too. I think PC gets it done.
  10. I’ve heard it from a good source that the young man’s transfer is legit and legal due to a family situation. I don’t think there’s any love lost between any of the three teams in Tipton County.
  11. Munford didn’t know how to respond to a team that kept punching back every time they made something happen. I know they were down to Central 21-0 last week and came back to win. I think once they got ahead of them it was over. Springfield came in and took control of the game with the pick six, and once we got up 17-0 which was three scores they lost their composure because they were facing the real fact of getting beat for the first time all year.
  12. In case you didn’t know, the end section to the far right (scoreboard end) of our bleachers was full of Brighton fans cheering for Springfield.
  13. This should be a relatively quiet thread this week. Not much on the line in this game between two teams with small fan bases.
  14. Like the old saying goes, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” (No pun intended mentioning fight when punches were thrown) Looked to me like Munford brought a knife to a gunfight.
  15. What’s the name of this Facebook page? I’d like to look at some of the comments.
  16. The Jackets offense has got to get the passing game working this week or this won’t be a game. We saw what it could do when the Big Red came to Springfield but it hasn’t looked good since that game.
  17. Those little Yellow Jackets took control and when Munford got it to 24-13 the defense took over, got the ball back, and our offense went right them pounding Crenshaw over and over and broke their will. The only thing that would’ve made this sweeter would be if the Jackets could’ve got it to 31-0 and got a running clock. Munford’s QB might’ve kicked an official then and Springfield would’ve gotten flagged for it. Nice facility but horrible officiating. The TSSAA needs to look closely at the film and this crew, especially the side judge on the Munford sideline. I was a little puzzled why Coach Wilson didn’t choose to go into the wind in the third quarter so we would have it at our backs in the fourth. Munford had the second half choice to receive so we would’ve had choice of which way to kick.
  18. Here’s an interesting tidbit about Springfield’s number 45 that might not be well known. He was a ball boy for the 2017 team that lost to Greeneville in the 4A state championship game, if I’m not mistaken. He’s been around the program for awhile.
  19. No worries. That comment may have struck a nerve in me at that moment. I always get a laugh when people comment about our size. I remember in 2017 when we played Haywood County in the semis; I watched their steam the next day and the color announcer couldn’t believe we were beating them because all he could say was “They’re so little.” I don’t think anyone means any disrespect to Munford’s team with their comments. I do think everyone is going off of what we have seen from the Memphis teams we have played the last two years. I tend to agree that the teams in that region haven’t played the same caliber of teams as teams from our region. Looking forward to the trip, the drive down and back not so much.
  20. Maybe since Springfield is so undersized they should just stay home, . Actually, if you come to the game or watch it, just keep your eyes on Springfield’s linebacker number 45. He’s usually the smallest player on the field but makes at least 10 tackles a game and affects more plays than that.
  21. Welcome to Springfield’s world this Friday night.
  22. Hey @ilovethegame do you know if Social Dweebs is streaming the game this week?
  23. I don’t think Clarksville can beat Cane Ridge.
  24. Even if Central had won, they would’ve still been the 3 seed in a three way tie for first.
