  1. Be sure to let us Jacket fans know how this game goes, Kevin. Watching this game then the Spfd/WH game next week should give you a good idea of how Spfd matches up with these two teams.
  2. The numbers are growing for sure. This year's freshman class has over 30 players in it. There will be some attrition from that number over the years, but the kids love playing for Coach Wilson. This year's senior class is fairly small, but it does have some key players. The future is bright for sure.
  3. As an outsider looking in, I am very curious to see how this game turns out. It should be a great game.
  4. Actually Commish, after Henry County the Jackets go to Kenwood, then have an open date, then Rossview at home before finishing up on a Thursday at Clarksville. Either way, the tougher half of the schedule begins after West Creek. I expect Henry County to bring more people than Gallatin did and you know there will be standing room only at White House too.
  5. The only thing that scares me is after West Creek the Jackets go to White House and then are home for Henry County, and I hope the team does not look past West Creek. I do not think Coach Wilson to let that happen. The White House game could be a battle of unbeatens, and then Henry County is a big district game.
  6. Nice win for the Jackets, but I cannot get over the poor quality of officiating we had in the game. It seemed like every penalty had to be discussed for five minutes, and the back judge must have thrown at least ten flags on his own. He seemed like he had a vendetta against Springfield. Is it me or is the officiating getting worse this year as a whole across high school sports?
  7. Nice win for the Jackets! Northeast isn't like the Northeast teams of the past few years, but any win over them is a good win. Springfield came out a little flat, but then the offense came alive. Defense played great. Springfield played the JV players part of the 3rd quarter and all the 4th quarter. It may have been a shutout if not for that. Hope we can keep it up!!
  8. Really looking forward to this game. Northeast traditionally has great skill position players and great team speed, and Springfield grew up a lot last week in defeating Gallatin. I hope the Jackets can play two halves this week like the first half of the Gallatin game. Should be a very entertaining game.
  9. Springfield grew up a lot in this game. Somewhat dominated the first half then held on in the second half. Running the last 4:30 off the clock without letting Gallatin have it back was a big step in a team learning how to win. The Springfield-Gallatin has been one sided since 1981, so this win will help amp the rivalry up! Looking forward to seeing if the Jackets can continue the hot streak next Friday against traditionally strong and very fast Clarksville Northeast.
  10. Maybe if the real reasons were known for the changes made in the program people would stop pointing fingers and complaining. There are everyday fans that have sat in the stands at Boyce Smith for years no matter the record of the team, and some nights they were not many people in those stands. These fans may not know why a change was made, or have the right to know, but they have the right to question why the change was made. No one is perfect, whether it be a coach, principal, or upper administrator. I feel for the seniors that have to go out on a season like this year, when it could have been so much more. It is just frustrating for the above mentioned fans when they are told that a change in direction was needed when SHS had been to the playoffs three straight years after going 1-19 for two years.
  11. Google Springfield Middle School for the address to Boyce Smith Field. The stadium is on the middle school campus.
  12. Red Warrior, The Jackets previous head coach is the OC at Hickman County, the former DC is on the Cane Ridge staff, and one other assistant went to Clarksville Academy. A couple of staff members stayed on with the new coach. I agree with the Commish that the field on school grounds is a few years off, with the costs being the big factor. Hope the Jackets can give the Pats a good game Friday night.
  13. Springfield looks to avenge last year's loss at Northeast. A big key for Springfield will be to stop Maybin. This is the first of a tough four game district stretch for Springfield.
  14. How do the Hickman faithful like the offense former Springfield coach Kelly Myers has brought to town?
  15. The Catfish House is excellent as is Torinos, a Greek restaurant. Wish our team had played as good in the 2nd half. A season that many had looked forward to may turn into one to forget. As quick as the Gallatin QB was, he is nothing compared to the Northeast QB Mr. Maybin that the Jackets see next week. I hope the Jackets can play a full four quarters against Northeast. Good luck to the Wave. Is it me or are the numbers down for Gallatin's team this year?
