  1. Beat Catholic on their way to a state title last year....
  2. Catholic may have a front that is comparable to Fulton's, but I'd be interested in hearing what your definition of "athlete" is. When I think athlete, I think explosion, speed, jumping, etc. Fulton has Catholic's #3 all over the field. The one thing I would say about Fulton is that when many people think of athletic teams, they think fast, and that's it. Fulton is an extremely physical football team as well. I'm not a fan of either one, so I don't have a dog in the fight, but I've seen them both in person this year multiple times, and just don't think there's any comparison.
  3. If you think Catholic has the athletes to match Fulton then you haven't seen either Catholic or Fulton in person. Athleticism isn't even close.
  4. Went to the Catholic-Betsy game last night. Catholic better play better or recruit hard this week or this game won't be close.
  5. Would love to make it to this game. As far as I can tell, both teams are around the same point differential on common opponents when it comes to Walker Valley and East Hamilton, but the Owls blasted Soddy 40-0 while it was 47-37 in favor of Rhea County earlier in the season. We all know common opponents is one way to compare teams, but football comes down to match ups. How do these teams match up? Can the Owls deal with that size and strength? Can Rhea County deal with the speed?
  6. Hate to interrupt the Greeneville talk on the South vs. East thread, but what's up East suspending 4 players for this week? I just read where Fritz mentioned it. Big time drama for the Patriots after a pretty successful season? Not like it would've made much of a difference (42-0 instead of 56-0) but just wondering what went down over there?
  7. Not saying that strength of schedule is the lone determining factor in any game, believe me. I do believe that 7-3 record Clinton sports is a little deceiving though. 3 losses to the only 3 teams worth mentioning on the schedule? I've been wrong before and could very well be wrong this time, but I just have a hard time believing that a team that loses to Campbell County, despite the good job the Prices have done, matches up real well with athletes Cleveland has.
  8. Because Cleveland is healthy then, I'll go against the grain here and say they win by 17 to 20 points. I know Clinton is 7-3, but they play in an extremely weak conference. Oak Ridge is nice, but there's nobody else. Has nothing to do with home or away, Cleveland will just be better Friday night; better athletes, better coaching, and better opponents to draw better experience from for Cleveland. I say 41-20.
  9. Had no idea about the injuries. Got some family down there in Morristown and was visiting both weekends. I thought WB had some talent, but coaching wise it just seemed like they were a little undisciplined and didn't have the greatest scheme. Good luck to both teams. Hope everyone comes out healthy.
  10. Saw both teams play at Morristown East this year. Not sure who wins this one (Both were pretty bad), but I have to say, William Blount has to be one of the worst coached teams I've ever seen. RB seems like a ball player though. I say Bearden 2-0.
  11. I know they're 2-0, but Crockett is not as good as they were last year and Science Hill is better. Not saying they score 90, but it won't be a 16 point ball game. Science Hill beat Elizabethton worse than that! And Crockett ain't no Betsy.
  12. Wow. Good news for the bulldogs. Congrats to the landers.
  13. I don't post a whole lot, especially here in this forum. I'm not DB homer or Maryville one either. I feel like it's tough to judge a coach based on not beating Maryville. If you fired every coach that loses to Maryville, every coach in the state would be fired. They beat everybody, every year. Seriously, when's the last time a team not named Maryville has gone to the state from East Tennessee in their classification? Morristown West back in 04 or 05? There are a lot of quality coaches with quality programs that lose to Maryville on a yearly basis---regular season and playoffs. Now if you want to judge Clark on some of the other playoff downfalls, by all means, do that. But I feel it's a little unfair to bash him for not coming through and beating Maryville.
  14. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....delusional.
  15. Never said "not going D1". I said it big time D1-as in SEC, ACC, Big12, Big10, Pac12....I would not be surprised if he ends up at a lower tier FBS school like MTSU or even an FCS school like Appy State or even ETSU, but it won't be SEC, unless he walks on.
  16. SEC players don't get tackled by Three Rivers Conference opponents. Good running back. Great for this area. No disrespect intended either, but big time D1 recruits are usually heavily sought after by the end of their Junior football season with numerous scholly offers. Example: Rollins-Davis from Fulton played a lot tougher schedule than Thomas, has rushed 127 times for 1,917 yards and 37 Touchdowns. That's 15 yards per rush and a score once every four rushes. HE only has offers from a bunch of 1-AA schools. Not a chance Thomas plays anywhere in the SEC.
  17. I heard Tirico and Gruden will be announcing this thing. Any truth to that rumor?
  18. Nice to click on the last page of a thread and not see "you know who" blabbering on and on about their team. I say Betsy rolls in this one by more than people are thinking. Ole Scott County didn't get wins against too many good teams.
  19. Grainger takes this one this time. Refs cost them last time they played. Grizzlies by 28.
  20. The winner of this one wins the Gold ball. Mark that one down.
