Both South and Elizabethton have played mostly cupcakes all year long. The one glaring difference I saw was Elizabethton's offense is way too one dimensional. Great game by both teams and I predict a win for both in the 1st round next week.

Based on the last couple of years, Boone should be scheduling North Greene, Unaka, Unicoi Co, Sisters of the Twisted Poor, etc.

So does this mean that Boone would play all these teams during the regular season, and drop the normal games against DB, Science Hill, South, etc.?

South likes to throw to #1 straight down the line and with 2 receivers already downfield blocking for him he will burn you. I doubt if EHS has faced a team all year that can pass as good as South, and I know South has not faced a better running team than EHS. Ok, maybe the Hill.....

Seems like the last couple of years they couldn't even follow their own convoluted rules and announced brackets that were incorrect. I remember Sullivan South having to go several hundred miles to middle TN somewhere for round 1 due to the T$$AA screwup.

Yep, lots of points by the end, it will be more of an offensive game than defensive. I'm just thinking this is the first difficult game for both teams in quite some time, whenever that happens it often takes a while for the offenses to get into a rhythm

I know both teams are pumped and ready, but it is possible we could see a sluggish start by both teams for at least a quarter. Here's why: The Hill has only 2 quality wins (Elizabethton and Tenn High), otherwise they have beaten mostly bad 5A schools half their size. DB also has only 2 quality wins (Sevier Co and Tenn High), otherwise they have beaten mostly bad 5A schools half their size. It has been many weeks since either team has had to put forth any effort to win a game. This one will come down to: fewest mistakes, fewest penalties, and who wants it the most.

Neither team has faced a defense like they both will this week. Any predictions on: 1. 28's longest run from scrimmage? 2. South's longest pass play?

Boone does have a long shot at the playoffs but I just do not see us beating Crockett this year. In either case it looks like 5A runs thru Knox West and that is where it will end for either team.

91 - good for you, if more people lived like this imagine what type of community we would have. Also keep in mind that not everybody who picks against DB is a DB hater, just picking who they think will win the game.

Guys, I'm going to say this is the game to pull out all your trick plays and smoke and mirrors. A little bird close to the action has assured me that you can look for a fake PAT early. Remember you read this here first: McGue will account for more total yards (running, passing, receiving) than DB's entire team. But will that alone be enough to win? Yes, Toppers win this one. Not a blowout my any means, but Toppers win solidly.

Crockett has everything to win and nothing to lose. Boone can't make the playoffs so it's our last game with nothing but Washington county pride on the line. Crockett is already in the playoffs so they are just playing for position. Crockett takes this one by 10+ points.

They are not selling tickets at the gate on Friday? Are the tickets for specific seats, I thought it was open seating (except for the home side season ticket holders)

This is a great analysis, but is there any way you could do point totals as of halftime of each of these games? In the 2nd half both South and Betsy are playing 2's and 3's so the final score is a little misleading.

Close game but THS pulls away in the 3rd and never looks back Vikings 34-17

This may or may not help give some perspective for this game, and I'll also throw Greeneville into the mix. Boone has played all three. The halftime score (where the Eliz, South, Gville starters were playing) was essentially the same. Of the 3 I would say that South looked the best against Boone. On offense South has a potent run and pass threat, so if one is not working the other one should. From what I saw against Boone, Eliz and Gville are more one-dimensional on offense. Therefore in the South vs Eliz game I am going to give South the edge. But 2 great teams going at it, so it could go either way. This game is on Thursday instead of Friday, right? And it's @ Elizabethton?

SH fans: are all the seats on the home side reserved, or is it open seating?
