Spot on analysis. I would add that nothing is going to change in the foreseeable future, i.e., Elizabethton & Greeneville are the ONLY teams in NET who are serious about championship football. All the other schools play for fun or whatever & if they happen every now and then to have a good team then so be it, but it is not hard-wired into the culture of all the other schools. (Preceeding comments relate to 4A/5A/6A)

This is the Tri-cities super-bowl and the Hill takes this game way more seriously than DB does. I'll take the Hill by 10 points. But the joy will be short-lived because I hears the sounds of basketballs after round 1. BTW it's basketball season for 5A up this way after round 1 as well.

It's no secret that both Crockett & Boone have injuries to multiple key players and are resorting to Freshmen & Soph's. That is why I do not think either one will score. If both were at full strength the city schools would still win but not by as much. We all know how it is, you play with who you have available at the time.

Not sure how many times in the past where the 2 Washington County schools play the 2 local city schools in the same week: Dobyns Bennett @ Crockett (Friday) Boone @ Science Hill (Thursday) I'm going to predict that the city schools both win with a combined score of 82-0, but one of the county schools MIGHT get a late garbage score. The 2 city schools are not really that good in 6A but the disparity between them and the county schools is quite wide this year. This will set up a nice Tri-Cities Superbowl meeting next week in Kingsport. Wishing all injury-free games..

Don't feel too bad, with the exception of Sevier County I'm pretty confident the other 3 Region 1 5A teams are going to go one-and-done. And I'm not 100% convinced SC can win in round 1

Cannot see DB winning by less than 40. I imagine on defense the Tribe will stack the line and force Crockett to try and beat them thru the air. If Crockett has 2 first downs before halftime I will be shocked.
