I think you are right in a way purple Irish, but it also doesn't help the Irish having a sub par at best coach. The locker room at Ryan may at least gain some fire from a new coach. Fire that has been diminishing for years now. Here's to hoping for the best for the football program at the purple school!

I do not think "maybe so" is accurate. It is definitely going to water down the competition. Without the all star match in place there is no way to know who the "best of the best" really is. And to counter your argument about scheduling better teams, it is important to know the best of the best teams train to peak come February. A loss during the year is overlooked when the state finals come around and the podium is topped. So while a tough schedule is good for seeding, the wins/losses don't matter as much until the third week in February.

I bet Frank Simpson is ecstatic to possibly welcome the Okie to his coaching staff. After numerous attempts to snag smith from Ryan, he finally may have his chance! Damon's ability to work with boys is really something, his accolades at TFI were impressive. They're kicking themselves at Ryan over the possible loss of Smith to a rival. Word on the street is that the Irish are conversing with Smith now on a possible new contract so long as he doesn't cross back to the other side of West End. Wouldn't be surprised if you hear rumors that Damon is gonna move to Chatt soon to teach and coach at tbsfbag. Stay tuned.

I can guarantee no team in the state has out worked Ryan as a whole in the offseason. If you don't think coach Simpson is getting his boys better then you'll be more scared than France in a World War come February. The day Wilson Central beats Fadder Ryne is the day that DII and DI agree on which division is better. That being said, I wish you the best of luck, especially Scottmike who can't get his school allegiances straight

You realize that neither of these matches are possible for the semifinals right? I got St. Benedict with three straight upsets beating the Bye School in the finals in a slug fest. Both teams are looking really tough this year.
