  1. You might be one of the worst posters on this website.
  2. Antioch should hire Adams imo. Worked out pretty well for Stratford last year.... (Father HC - Son QB)
  3. What are his college offers? He certainly has the D1 size.
  4. Facts: Dyersburg will have the best football player on the field Friday night, and it isn't a discussion. With a Georgia offer, this guy is basically unblockable unless double-teamed. East will likely need to scheme ways to run away from this giant or leave in a back to provide help when he gets pressure on East's QB. They are undefeated for a reason. This will likely be the best team East has played this year and that includes Smyrna and probably FRA as well. East will have to eliminate self-inflicted penalties to move on to Chattanooga.
  5. He wouldn't leave to be an assistant. If they offered him the HC position, I assume he would take it. Not sure who BA will go after, but they have been poorly coached for the last several years imo. Maybe they don't have the UNA connection like years past... They can aim as high as they want, and they may get who they want with the talent on campus, but they have underachieved as a program as of late.
  6. Don't really care that much to be honest. I like him and wish him and Lawson the best. It would not have been the decision I would have made if I had the choice to make. Hope they can keep their new coach from going to BA.
  7. Good points and I guess that makes sense as an administrator long term but to the expense of this years' seniors and juniors who likely will never see the playoffs. Could have started new school with some much-needed success early on if they went 4A. These kids these days seem to need instant gratification and this west Nashville public school hasn't seen success since Jerry Link (2004). Good luck to the staff holding on to the young talent as many of the Nashville public school coaches poach players during the 7 on 7 offseason.
  8. Not sure when the last time you visited Hillwood was, but it certainly had a metro feel to me. Lawson had the best 9th Grade Football team in Metro this year and won the City Championship, so they have that going for them. I just don't understand why they would subject themselves to playing Page, Nolensville, Centennial, Hillsboro each year when those schools have the larger enrollment. Let's say they were in 4A and got beat by PC every year... at least they would secure a playoff berth and have the possibility to advance to the 3rd round on a consistent basis. Best of luck tonight to East Nashville and PC. Hope both squads make it to the semis!
  9. AM 560 is covering it, but I don't think it is on TV unless you have a subscription to NFHS.
  10. 27-13 , EN won the first contest, but it was a close game throughout. LC is an improving team who plays discipline ball, grinds out first downs, doesn't typically give up the big play and was successful last time keeping the ball for long sustained drives. Penalties helped LC keep this game close so EN must play clean and eliminate the self-inflicted mistakes in order to advance to the semis. EN, collectively has better players, but this game should be a 4-quarter battle.
  11. Question for the metro followers: What is the reasoning behind Lawson HS choosing to move up from 4A to 5A to play football? I assume they could have played 2 years at 4A and then when their enrollment went up, they could be more competitive in the 5A classification. Doesn't seem like they have the kid's best interest when making this decision. Perhaps I am missing something.
  12. Appears this might be the year for Metro to get a Gold Ball! 2008 Hillsboro was the last. It's been too long. What team will be PC's biggest challenge? I think the Burros can make a little noise if they play their A game. Stratford could get to round 2. Antioch has an opportunity to win a playoff game which hasn't happened in a little while. East Nashville has home field throughout, so they have a great opportunity for a deep run. Hope these metro squads have a Thanksgiving practice!
  13. Great season so far for Dyersburg. Should they make it to the semi finals or will Covington/Sheffield upset them in the 3rd round? What does Dyersburg do well?
  14. I know a few years ago Rose Park was made up of two middle school teams. They were very good. They played at old Cameron School and one of the end zones was about 6 yards long in one corner (field lining issue) Btw, I can see kids wanting to play for Darnell at WC. He is a good coach.
  15. I have been impressed with this years' Hillsboro team. Plenty of seniors and they are a physical bunch. Might make some noise come playoff time. They very well could beat Antioch head-to-head, but if we are doing the ranking game, Antioch deserves the 3-spot as of today imo.
  16. That list is fine for now but i would swap Antioch and Hillsboro. Antioch just beat Stewarts Creek who previously beat Hillsboro.
  17. Nice to see a WIP post! Will your opinion change if East somehow gets a win Friday? EN has improved greatly in the special-teams category this season. This may pay off down the road. If EN can take care of the ball and eliminate drive killing penalties, they can get back to the state title game. Several big IFs. It would be nice if EN had a practice facility on campus. Driving to a park with no goalposts each day to practice isn't an ideal way to prepare for quality opponents.
  18. Battle of the unbeatens. FRA is very well coached, and they have D1 talent in the trenches and at the skill spots. East is young but talented at all spots. Should be a great test for both teams and should prepare both squads for post-season play.
  19. I am sensing a shift in Southeast Davidson County... Coach Arnold is changing the culture at Antioch HS.
  20. You joined CoachT 14 hours ago..... OK whatever you say buddy
  21. Hey JoeyC, Let us know when your DB team makes it out of the first round. A team that plays in the Championship two years in a row is certainly a contender. The game against Alcoa last year was close for the majority of the game. DB former players, fans, etc... don't know what it takes to make to the Ship or have much success in the playoffs. You are an East TN homer !
  22. Not sure the best response to this as they were State Runner-Ups two years in a row so anything less than another State Title appearance against Alcoa would be down. They return a capable squad that could make a deep run in the playoffs. A new QB and his ability to control the game, not commit turnovers, and his development as a leader will decide their fate this season. If he plays well, they can compete with anyone in the Tennessee.
  23. East goes to Pope Prep (JPII) since East has no home field. Pope Prep is always well coached, and they have a stud RB who will be a tremendous challenge for East. NC vs Davidson should be a good one too for the smaller school division.
  24. Lebanon looked pretty solid in the scrimmage against East. They have two solid linebackers, a nice DT, and at least one skill guy who can flat out play. The QB is solid. Lebanon can be thrown on imo but East didn't try to pass much in the scrimmage. I suspect this will be a good game.
