  1. Has anyone heard anything about this opening? Has the job been posted yet? Are they interviewing yet? Are they looking at all possible certifications or only certain ones?
  2. From the TSSAA Legislative meeting agenda: e. Trousdale County & Lewis County Proposed Change in Article I, Section 3 The administrations at Trousdale County High School and Lewis County High School requesting a change in Article I, Section 3 of the TSSAA Bylaws effective with the 2015-2016 school year. Is this what all the discussion is about?
  3. BA's combination of athletes and football history will present Ensworth with a challenge but I still feel that Ensworth is a better team and takes the win. Best of luck to both.
  4. Got to go with DeKalb in this one.
  5. Station Camps reciever is very good. I see him as a possible winner.
  6. Lebanon is improved. I think people will see it in year 2.
  7. Maryville is a great program but without question Ensworth is better this year and has been better in years past. That is not meant to take anything away from the Rebels. Right now Ensworth is better than many, many other teams. Maryville should continue to hold their heads up and be proud of what they have been able to accomplish. They are quite possibly the closest team to Ensworth's level in the state.
  8. Which one of the Div. 2 teams has the most legitimate shot of defeating Ensworth this year?
  9. Some private schools have very good academics and some private schools have not so good academics , just like some public schools have good academics and have not so good academics. I never have understood why some people think all privates are alike or all public schools are alike. Each school is unique.
  10. What would the reaction be if the coach posted negative comments on social media about mistakes made by players or the actions of parents?
  11. More info from WKRN News about the School Board Meeting tonight. http://www.wkrn.com/story/22488646/parents-plan-rally-after-25-of-cheatham-county-teachers-resign
  12. I would agree that there is a difference between personal atacks and an open and civil discourse. Not excusing the personal attacks but I do think they speak to the level of distrust and animosity that parents and members of the community feel towards the schol board and the central office staff. IMHO parents spend lots of time and money on their childrens academic and athletic careers. When it seems that the people in charge of those programs are actively working against their success there is bound to be some type of blowback. That does not excuse those attacks but it does help to explain them. Did S. Kinnard offically resign or that just a rumor/wishful thinking? Same question about M. Kinnard resigning as the principal of HHS?
  13. http://www.wkrn.com/story/22470787/25-percent-of-cheatham-county-employees-have-resigned-since-may-1 I found Dr. Curtis' comment interesting. Cheatham County Schools Director Dr. Stan Curtis told News Two in a statement, "teachers need to enjoy their profession. If they choose to resign we hope they find a place of employment where they can be fulfilled." No sense of wanting to fix the problem, no desire to find out what the problem is, just an attitude of "if they do not like it they can leave". Also note that many of the ones that have left and are leaving are not new to the teaching profession, they are long time professionals who will find work in other school systems. A sad,sad state of affairs for Cheatham County.
  14. If you want more evidence of poor leadership coming from the central office you only have to look at how many principals each HS in the county has had over the past few years. How many principals has CCHS, HHS and SHS had over the last ten years? I honestly do not know the number and if you could help me out I would appreciate it.
  15. I am not going to applaud or condemn the job that Mrs. Barrow did at CCHS because I do not know everything that happened but... I do question the intelligence of the central office staff that took an elementary principal, who seemed to be doing a good job on at PES, and moving them to a high school setting. So when you place an administrator in a setting they are unfamiliar with and they fail, is it their fault or the central offices fault for putting them in that position. I am willing to bet that you not hear the central office issuing a statement saying that they made a mistake in putting her in that situation. In my mind this is one more example of poor school leadership coming from the board office in Ashland city.

Any news on the Harpeth baseball position? Is CCHS looking for a baseball coach as well?
  17. So where does CC stand on hiring a new coach? Did the cubs get to lift weights yesterday? I also saw where the director reassigned the principal to a classroom position. So who do they hire 1st, a principal or a football coach? Does the moving of the principal slow this process down even more?
  18. Has Webb taken over as the director of schools yet or is he fnishing the year at Richland?
  19. How will Giles County handle spring practice? Are they close to a hire? Best of luck.

They will probably fire the coach if this is true... Not if his tvaas and EOC scores are good
