The size of those lines in the game last night and the McCallie game says it all. Oakland has repeatedly come up with lines every year we have played them. This new team Houston was one of the very first teams I've seen that made Oakland look small. They controlled that game up front.
Maryville and Alcoa have done well with the QB's that came up through their system. Last year our coaches fell in love with an athlete as they say that came form a 1-9 program and treated the kid that should have been the man like a red headed stepchild and made him sleep out on the back porch then he finally quit. Well they got a good taste of why the other school went 1-9 and I never want to live that situation again. I totally agree BC.
To find a crowd like that last night to see two teams play you would have to go back to the day's when Knoxville High and Central High played every Thanksgiving Day at Neyland Stadium.
Being from Maryville and remembering Caleb Slover when he played QB for Anderson County in 95 and 96 he was a very good player. If his kid was half as good as he was I can't imagine with Caleb's background as a good QB the apple didn't fall far from the tree. When someone was talking about his passing percentage on here the very first thing I thought was what is the problem with these idiots in Sweetwater. For them to find a coach after all this mess is going to be almost impossible. I'm sure they'll be some Yes man or an A kisser show up to take this job but it won't be a coach.
Carson-Newman just fired their head football coach today which is located in George Quarles home town of Jefferson City. Hopefully Carson-Newman knows one man's trash can be another man's treasure.

That's because we didn't know what we lost until we lost it. Coach Story was a great coach no doubt and very well likes but he wasn't a Ted Wilson that would go out and get kids to come to Maryville. He was really more layed back and very quiet off the field.
