I'm picking 48 games this week and that was one of the easy one's, West.
-
Never know what Eagleton team will show up.
-
This will be the Thursday Night game of the Week. Should be a good one.
-
G-P has beat the usual suspects this year but Fulton was playing Anderson County a decent game until the end. Should be one of those close games.
-
York came out of no where and beat Bledsoe County and Polk County upset Tellico Plains last week. Will be an interesting matchup.

Week 4: Jefferson County at Dobyns-Bennett

Well I got this one right on my picks this week. One serious question I want to ask and that's about the band. Maryville is three times the size it was when I went there and the band had around 65 kids give or take at the time. Half a century later we still have the same number of kids in the band and maybe less. How in the world do they get that many interested to have a band that big and we're still the same size. I'm not no band expert and really I never pay attention during halftime while sitting there counting that 20 minutes off like most people do before leaving work on Friday. Just Curious. -
Looking forward to week six myself for someone to return to the backfield and really make life hard on a few teams but that's the week after so I'll go with Maryville this week for sure but they better be ready.

39-9 this week. 3 of these were 1 point loses and 1 was a 3 point loss. Upsets to me were William Blount over Mo East, York over Bledsoe, Chatt. Central over Tyner and Polk County over Tellico. The one I should have known better was the Walker Valley over Bradley Central. Bradley has went from the pent house to the out house. I was going to change it but forgot to and just left it after a few people sent me messages why Walker Valley would win. When I look at the list of up and coming games Sunday 1/3 of them a caveman can figure out and by Monday I'm down to 10-12 teams and they can go either way. I have to start digging hard to figure out the rest. I'm just a great fan of the game and hope everyone enjoys plus I enjoy going against the guys in the paper.

5.49 left in the game 35-7. Great interception and drive for the last touchdown. Price Davis is the man. -

That's what it's all about, I'm thinking the same thing and may change. I did three last week and 2 of them I got wrong.

Greeneville could possibly win. Alcoa is still mad as wet hens from being sent home over the weather and not finishing the game last year when the game started to fall in Alcoa's favor. Hopefully that don't happen this year. It will be a great game whoever wins.

Alcoa over Greeneville Bradley central over Walker Valley Bledsoe County over York Harriman over Greenback McMinn Central over Brainerd Tyner over Chatt. Central Soddy Daisy over Sequoyah Maryville over Knox West Powell over Heritage Mo East over William Blount Eagleton over West Greene Kingsport D-B over Jefferson County Elizabethton over Cherokee Mo West over Daniel Boone 48 games this week. Carter over South-Doyle Anderson County over Fulton Gatlinburg Pittman over Austin-East Cleveland over farragut Gibbs over Seymour Halls over Hardin Valley Oak Ridge over Karns Knox Central over Ooltewah GCA over CAK Endsworth over Knox Catholic Knox Webb over Notre Dame Lenior City over Kings Academy Sevier County over Cocke County Grainger county over Piegon Forge West Ridge over Lakeway Coalfield over Midway Oliver Springs over Oakdale Rockwood over Sunbright Kingston over Union County Oneida over Wartburg Clinto over Campbell County Loudon over East Ridge McMinn County over East Hamilton Meigs County over Sweetwater South Pitt over Sequatchie County Tellico Plains over Polk County Volunteer over Northview Happy Valley over Hampton Claiborne County over Hancock County Johnson County over Cloudland Cosby over Unaka North Greene over Cumberland Gap Science Hill over Union,VA. When the first coach was hired he had so much pressure shot up him about all the money they have invested that eventually he left for an assistant job at Maryville. Then Shad was hired who actually did well with the program playing JV games only. Then when he left the county took a lifetime to name another coach and had great names apply but after all that wasted time they stay in house. The present coach was a former Maryville player and actually was a student assistant for one year but they won the state that year he was there. Then he goes and was a part of the William Blount Program until he went onto Eagleton. A lot of coaches that have been under GQ's wings seem to never have learned anything and fell on their face. I'm very dissapointed right now at what has happened to this point because I expected 8-2 seaon no less and it may be the other way around. The other thing that has got my attention is five sophomores on the roster. If this ends up being a massive failure don't say I didn't warn you all but I'll just set back and watch the show.

Here we go again with another winnable game for Eagleton. They blew so many chances against Oneida and came home with a big ZREO I had to watch the replay to believe it. They looked great against Scott County only to look awful last Friday. This team has everyone back from last year about it but they can't seem to get out of their own way for some reason at times. Don't know much about West Greene.
-
Eagleton has lost two so far there's no excuse for. Will they go to West Greene and throw number 3 away.
-
Thanks for the interesting info. The field they play on now, is that the same field they have always used from the begining.
-
I do a lot or research on all East Tennessee High School Football teams history and the one thing I enjoy about Oneida's history is that they have had some great teams in the past and that research goes back to 1945. Even though I was at another game Friday it was nice to see a game from their home field. The Tennessee Orange they wear is also like a throwback to UT back in the 60's when I started watching the Big Orange as a kid.
-
Well I didn't want to say anything because everyone there has been very nice to me. They left without two scores also but that's a sign of a good coach not to run it up there at the end when most will try and punch one more in to satisfy their ego.
-
Right now the plan is 49 games for the up and coming week 4 and I have alread looked down the list and picked 30 without batting an eye. I'll go over the other 19 a second time and bet I can knock 10-12 of them off by tonight and leave the others and to find out more on.

Went to a game one time at West where the smoke from the hamburger grill hung so low over the field the kids couldn't see to field a punt or a long pass. -
I watched the replay last night and the last quarter and a half this morning. I got so tired of watching the Tennessee game halfway through the third quarter watching that ref hogging TV time until I couldn't take it anymore only to watch the same thing on this replay but having to watch every play twice. Thought I had died and went to Football ALE. Many of the Eagleton players didn't pick up the game until later in life which I've heard a few times and it shows sometimes. They lived on Oneida's side of the field so much they could go down to the court house and clain squatters rights but came up empty. No excuse at all for losing this game. Should have won 14-13 but truefully 21-13. Great catch by #12 but for most of the evening there were so many dropped passes it became to hard to watch the whole thing last night.
-
I actually did think Heritage may win based on the way they lost to Karns and I did watch the South Doyle game against Heritage on Diamond Clear but I couldn't get a real good feed on S-D if they were bad or so young their just not ready yet. I was at the barber shop and he said WB by three touchdowns and I said are you sure so I changed it. They really surprised me Thursday Night. You can start to tell who the stars are going to be from that game. The QB from Greenback looked good and his receivers did also along with great runs by #20. #11 on defense looked great also.

Did the new QB that got hurt on the sidelines last night going to okay. The kid hopped on one foot across the entire field like a one legged kangaroo refusing any help. That was some odd behavior if I've ever seen any on the field.
