  1. So what your saying is we were led to believe it was the hamburgers on the left but in reality it's the ones on the right, got ya.
  2. Biggest issue for Carter is to stop kids from leaving there and stay home. Right now they look like Alcoa's triple AAA farm club.
  3. A good friend from Carter told me he is going to the State of Georgia to coach due to a positive situation for a family member. Don't want to say anymore but most any good parent is going to the limit for one of their kids and hope him the best.
  4. The HVA hire would have been a home run for Central but for HVA his job will be like turning Chicken Chit into Chicken Salad.
  5. Beggars can't be choosy and that's what Central has made their self look like through this process farting around.
  6. No BigTime he was the running back coach.
  7. Great info Elias, honestly this would have been a better fit for knox Central with their rich history in football and a place just needing a great coach because the players are there. I'm not sold Nick Saben can change the culture at HVA because it's been in them to long.
  8. It has been a very quiet few months. The only thing coming out of that place since football season ended has been the Basketball team, the article about the vouchers and the lady wanting to remove a book from the library that wasn't suitable for 15 and 16 year olds to read but the director of schools and the board are ok with it.
  9. I would give anything to know why he really left Maryville. He had opportunities to leave earlier in his coaching career and passed them up. Had he stayed I firmly believe the two state championships that were won after he left would have still been the only two had he stayed.
  10. Surley one of the assistant coaches are conducting winter work outs or as I said earlier they could have a 25 man football team. Who would want to waste their time on the unknown at HVA.
  11. Their in the process of doing Heritage and William Blount's in Blount County right now.
  12. They're screwing around over there wasting time picking a coach that they'll end up with a 25 man football team because of it.
  13. Sorry for all the delays in picking a new coach but we must wait for the Fountain City Ice Lady to melt before moving forward.
  14. Apparently you didn't understand what I said. Berrong coached from 51 to 74 and no parent was going to do to him what those parents did to Slover.
  15. Not heard much of anything regarding the football team since the last game played. The only news coming out of Maryville High is about Vouchers and a book someone wants pulled from the library shelf because they feel it's to not appropriate for 15-16 year olds to read but the board and the director of schools see different. Funny how all this has changed since my day's at Maryville High because every bit of this would be in reverse. Back to football, I would love to see Derek do a podcast on what's going on and give some updates on 2024. I really enjoyed all of Derek's podcast last season and looking forward to watching more this year. He does a great interview and if you haven't ever seen one I suggest to go to you tube and watch a few.
  16. The only reason I didn't pick HVA as the 6A Dumpster Fire award was simply due to Jeff Miner who is a good defensive coach and I can't blame him for stepping down. Who would want their image tarnished over that place. They had inproved his second year but now I can say for sure HVA is the biggest Dumpster Fire in East Tennessee 6A.
  17. Most definitely, I wouldn't be surprised if they had tabbed a couple people for the job and they couldn't get it to work out instead of looking at the applications in front of them which most likely have found jobs or at least the good ones.
  18. No decision today, wind blowing to hard and everyone headed home.
  19. Betting they're more worried what this idiot baseball coach has done than a football coach right now.
  20. Someone gave me a copy of their William Blount Football Program yesterday and I was very happy to see they have Grasshoppers, Pee-Wees and Midget Programs now plus the Middle School Program. I don't keep up with those as much because you can't find anything out unless you have someone connected to one of those programs because our hometown newspaper is very lacking in this department. Glad to see those programs in place and another reason I feel Robert Reeves was the right man for the job. I know it will take time but so far I'm impressed. I honestly didn't see them winning but one game based off the first season but what a turn around.
  21. Someone needs to hurry up and get off the pot over there.
  22. A lot of those boys haven't played before buthad they went on to another school most still wouldn't be playing. They have unbelievable size on the line. Their best defensive player most say could start at either Maryville or Alcoa. Blount County was mostly small schools before they made a mistake and built Heritage and William Blount. Walland was the 1A state champion in 1975 before it went into Heritage and that was when there were only 3 classes. The great thing about this is getting back to our roots and enjoying small time football the way it should be.
  23. Yes it is Larry. They would never stand a chance of getting any kids to come there if they were still playing on that cow pasture in the upper picture.
  24. With every single one of the starters back I can see this team going 7-3 or 8-2 this year.
