It all boils down to who has the better game Riverdale's guards D1 or Bradley Central's post players D1, this game will show both teams where they are and should be a great game.

Blackman beat JC pretty bad over the summer so I really doubt they can hang with Riverdale and that's not to say JC is not a good team but they are in different classifications for a reason.

I really think Central Magnet has a great chance of making it to State they have some great players that grew up playing with and against alot of the players from the 7AAA and I expect Claudia to do alot to lead her team.

I saw them play at camp their young but very atheletic and scrappy, also have a little size in the post they will make some noise just not against the top teams.

Wow it will be a treat to see some of these games when I'm not working but I'm sure this lovely board will keep me posted.

Ok we know Jazz Bond came in from a school that would have sent her to Riverdale, same thing as Alexa transferring to Riverdale along with Shelby Davenport from Siegel, Brandy Alley from Mt. Juliet, Hannah Pendergrass, Caroline Patrick, Deja Jones and the point guard from Atlanta, then you have Meme Jackson to Blackman from Mt.Juliet, Shelby Gibson to Oakland from West Wilson Middle School, Treasure Hunt and sister Kayla who graduated from Lavergne, Brianne Alexander from Oakland, Savannah McIntyre from Oakland, Jasmine Neal from Mt.Juliet, a guard from Antioch and freshman who would have been at Lavergne are at Smyrna, Paris Lawson from Siegel to Lancaster, Kennesha Nichols from Lavergne to Ensworth, Bria Dial from Blackman Middle to Brentwood Academy and thats just 7AAA its happening in other districts also so if I left anyone out don't feel bad because the point is its time to move on the season is here let the chips fall where they may lots of talent to be seen and 7AAANetwork I agree with your assessment but I would put Stewarts Creek above Lavergne. More vulnerable? Two players at Riverdale have already committed to D1 schools and 3 all-star transfers have arrived. Yes, some other teams will work harder to try and unseat Riverdale and if they do justice will have prevailed. If Riverdale wins the state again with a pocket full of transfers then most in Murfreesboro will celebrate again and most of the other schools will just shrug and say " Transfer City did it again" while a few schools will say, "Lets go get us some transfers". Blackman has at least 7 D1 players also.

That's true but I'm not sure how accurate he is because some of those players are ranked at the top but not nationally recognized but I tend to look at the rankings beyond Tennessee just to see how we match up with other top players but its still awesome to be recognized among the elite because alot of our girls will go on to play for some top programs like past players.

I say what's meant to be will be if they feel good about having transfers join their team like my grandmother use to say if you like it I love it because they still have to do the work just like the other schools and I feel a little bad for them because they are definately more vulnerable than past seasons they had a garbage player in Olivia Jones she did all the dirty work as in defensively, steals, out rebounding kids 6 or 7 inches taller she was the unsung hero and heart of that team so who takes her place we shall see because Science Hill, Blackman, Oakland, Smyrna, Memphis Central, Bradley Central these teams are hungry so I expect some awesome games from all of them so lets not beat up on Riverdale when they are basically doing what is allowed and don't forget Brandy Alley's mom works for the TSSAA so I'm pretty sure they know the rules, I say let's get ready to watch some exciting basketball from some of the most talented players in the state and country, makes me proud to be a Tennessean. What happen to Hoover AL, Bob Jones AL, Science Hill, Mount Juliet, Oakland is there a reason they are no longer participating?

Looks to be some great games I will be working so I would love an update from you great people thanks in advance and good luck to all the teams as they kick off the season and I pray there are no serious injuries.

Also its not just Riverdale, Blackman, and Oakland, Smyrna has had 4 transfers come from Lavergne and Oakland and people were not happy about it but the rules were followed leaving 1player to sit out a year and 2 kids had to miss some games but they did it by the rules and now they have some top 9th graders who would have gone to Lavergne but moved to go to Smyrna because lets face it Lavergne is at the bottom of the division so look to see Smyrna in the mix these coming years also Siegel lost their nationally ranked player Paris Lawson to Lancaster but nobody cares unless your at the top but the fact is its all possible under TSSAA rules.

I don't think Blackman is so much in the same category as Riverdale I notice you said transfer as in 1 that means its not an ongoing thing, I believe that's why you have people pointing out Riverdale, I don't have a problem with it as long as the rules are being followed because under TSSAA they are allowed to move and tranfer so until that changes you will continue to see people transfer to the dominate schools its happening in West TN and in A and AA divisions also.IMHO

Is the invitation based on Riverdale's past success, more than likely so I am looking forward to seeing how this year's team will do against the tough teams, I hope they represent TN well and that goes for Blackman to.

You know all this talk about transfers and recruiting is becoming redundant at this point because what's done is done the season is here now its time to show and prove what you got because there is alot of talent to see this season and we should be happy to have front row seats to the show along with all the D1 coaches who will undoubtedly be watching and Brandon100 thanks for the link on Meme Jackson thats good stuff.

Blackman is playing a tough out of state schedule also so if they win some of those games and beat riverdale they will be nationally ranked and have a good chance of winning state.IMO

I agree and Oakland has a great big post player who transferred in her freshman year after middle school it turned into a big loss for Wilson Cental but I expect her to be their go to player and have a great season.

Wow granddadone great questions, its definately alot to consider because after all these are the parents making the decisions so hopefully there's no resentment from the kids later on down the road because where they were more than likely star players at their old high schools when you join a team that is already stacked you may have to be willing to be a role player just like the girl last year and I believe she is playing at a juco instead of division 1 where she had options before transferring I'm not saying thats the reason she's playing at a juco but her stats and game play were much stronger at her old school, but it may have been worth it to end up with a state championship and national championship that is what they are all playing for.

Most of the past riverdale players had played together for years and in the summer which helped develop team chemistry so it may not be to their advantage as much as people may think these are different players with different skill sets, I know I am pretty excited about how competitive this season will be and Kentucky didn't always win the games people thought they would because what looks good on paper still has to be proven on the court. Riverdale has about 4 new players, I'm looking forward to see how they match up with Blackman and Smyrna both have alot of athletes I expect some great games in girls basketball this season including Science Hill.
